Any advice on how to get my gnome to stay in the fucking car?

Are you trying to get that insane achievement in HL2 Ep. 2? Where you carry the gnome across the entire game?

Yes. It's actually not that bad, I'm almost halfway done. But the little fucking gnome just will not stay in the damn car. So every few meters I have to get out, throw him, move the car forward, repeat.

Noooooooooooooooooooo. I left the gnome by the car. I thought he would be safe there. But no, Alyx has to fix the damn car and move it into the garage, without allowing me to go back and retrieve the gnome. I have to do this all over again!

No, because I auto saved a bunch during the helicopter fight so I could get that achievement. Ugh.

No, the car is a pain in the ass. But there are a few levels where you can leave the gnome and get back to it later. Like when your with all the vortigaunts in the cave you can leave it with alyx and the vorts.

Yeah, that's exactly what I did. I just left the gnome with the car when it breaks down, and I didn't realize I couldn't get back to it.

Ya, you need to take it then. you can leave it when your actually battling the Hunter Chopper. Another time you can leave it is at the level, Freeman Pontifex. You can just put it at the sheet metal door that Alyx and the vort come out of. You will have to be quick while the door is still open but you can always go back and hit the switch while it is open. Ask me about it when im sober and ill tell you everything in detail.
