some of you might have heard this before... and it might have been posted here I dunno... but I think it's kinda funny...
"The thing on his back is...
A shower!
You need to keep it filled so that you can cool yourself off if necessary. Otherwise, you can cool down by standing still for a long time or by standing in the shade."
heh heh... some of the replies are funny too...

and everybody talks about how that idea sounds so stupid... it'd be funny if it was true ;)
y'know... sun? heat? Water... it's over his back like a shower... ;) heh heh heh...
I hope nobody posted anything like this before :sneaky:
oh well, new forums now anyways :D

Well...heh...that is what I always thought it was...I think It would be great...running around, cooling off and stuff...I Think it would be really fun like that. I dunno what the people at IGNs problems are. Plus, we all know it would be just like Nintendo to try something like that.

actually, the whole thing fits perfect...
not only with the sunshine and all, but look at these screenshots...

notice the water meter is full...
and now...
http://cubemedia.ign.com/media/previews/image/mariosunshine/mariosunshiney11.jpg
it's empty and he's standing in the shade to cool off...
and then...
http://cubemedia.ign.com/media/previews/image/mariosunshine/mariosunshiney10.jpg
poor lil' mario gets too hot so he has to wipe the sweat away...
heh heh heh :D
I bet the shower would be a little more effective if he took his hat off
P.S: some of you might have found this so obvious, but I never really payed much attention to the game so I dunno :p

*walks into thread*
*bursts Deathshand's bubble*
This theory is old. In fact, a very looong (http://www.n-sider.com/main.php?page=features/101001melting.htm) editorial was written to examine this very theory on the 10th of October in 2001.
Might as well give it a read, though. Good stuff.

Well I figured the theory would be pretty old, but like I said I didn't pay much attention to the game so I dunno :p

I think it all adds up, except the the rainbow spots...

But the more and more I think about it, the more it adds up ;) Well except for the rainbow spots...
But we'll see at E3, I guess
