Anybody got this game yet? It came out today at my EB, even thought it was supposed to ship on the 22nd, lol. The game is alright. The graphics are nice, and its has a true EA feel to the game. I am not a big fan of the controls, however. I am going to see how I like them for a couple of more games, and if I still don't get used to it, I am going to switch them up.
I have not started my dynasty, because I just want to get used to the game first. But overal, it's pretty good so far.
been playin it for a couple weeks.
controls you start to get used to. Graphics are insane for a hockey game. but then again im playin on PC.
havnt picked up the full version. But i'll be sure to kick bouncers ass when i do pick it up. ;)

hey Null, what's the bruise control hitting like with the analog sticks? I don't know how to pull it off using the keyboard. It just charges up and then I don't know what button to set it off and stuff. I'm getting used to the game's controls.
I don't like how on the outlet pass the player really seems to jerk around even though the pass is going to him. It totally takes away the momentum of the breakout. And also when I carry the puch across the blueline and my winger doesn't head for the net. That kind of pisses me off. He usually cuts straight to the boards and the goes from there...
I'd have to say that my biggest gripe is how the player loses total momentum almost everytime you hit him with a pass out of your zone. I'd rather him miss the puck and then skate after it than have him swivel to the side. I like the overall pace of the game but the offensive teammates just aren't smart....and I can circle around the opposing team in their zone without them coming after me. It's 5 on 5 and they setup like I'm on a powerplay.
get a controller man. you dont even need a PS2 adapter if you cant find one. most PC controlers use the basic setup of the PS2 controller. there are some that look like the PS2 setup with 6 face buttons. Its an entirely differnt game.
And the AI gets better with the difficulty settings, But no, they arent the smartest. never have been. but at least they're smarter then last year.
the analog stick checking thing takes some getting used to. i still miss a lot. but hey, if i go after soeone. thats a risk i take.

Is this happening in Dynasty mode? Because if it is, your players will suck until you upgrade your staff and training facilities and so on.
It's happening in the demo:)

I've never seen anyone 'jerk around' so to speek. everything seemed smooth. About when you cross the blue line... You know you can change strats on the fly? should fix that if you tell them to goto the net.
the change strats on fly is SO NICE. i use analog to control player. so D-pad up down changes like defence strat, i can cycle thro what i want the team to do. and left right cycles thro the different offencisve strats.
I LOVE THAT FEATURE. :)

Hey Null, how did you set up your face buttons? For the PS2 game, offensive strategy is actually up and down, and defensive is left and right. What button is pass? shoot? check? saucer?
ok, offensive up down and defence left right. whatever. :P
i use default right now. only have the demo. so its prolly same setup as PS2, same controller and all. :p

Oh, I just thought that if your off/def strategies were different, maybe your other face controls would be as well.
I'll be installing this game on my PC later tonight....
I'll spend a day or two getting totally used to the controls.
I still have to pick up a game adapter.
ack!
When I go to fill in my time card for the free one year it says that the code is unavailable.
random code format= D9RT-TKWE-88RT-PO92-BN7A
That's what the formatt looks like on the back of the time card. I've filled my code in with capital letters and with dashes. It ain't working.
Am I filling it in wrong...?
grrr?

Maybe try asking the question on EA's boards. Or if EA has a toll free number, call and bitch to them;)
