..its not all its cracked up to be.
Im not trying to self promote my richness or anything, its just that being rich kind of ruins things.
I used to be semi-poor, and money meant alot to me because i wouldnt really get alot of it to buy things.
But now its made me jaded.
Like, i asked for money to go buy food from subway yesterday, i got $10, whereas i would usually get $20, and i felt like it wasnt enough money.
But if i was still kinda poor i would be so happy to get 10 bucks, but now im just dissapointed.
And i always get bugged from everyone to either lend them money when we are out places, or buy my own food when i am at my friends houses.
That slightly pisses me off.
Its not like i walk around with my money hanging out of my wallet, or like, say " Hey, look at me, im rich!!!!"
There is just some sort of common hate towards people with money from people without it, and it makes me mad.
So mad.
Im too tired to keep typing.I should really come home earlier. Wait. No. I shouldnt. Because if i came home earlier, i wouldnt be out with girls.
I think I should put that paypal donation link back on the homepage.

I would like to hear an accurate account of how you went from being semi-poor to rich.
When you say rich, what exactly do you mean by rich? Like Parents make 100 grand+ a year, or like Millionaire rich?
Onto another topic...
I don't know if you get FX in Canada or not, but it's a fox network. There is this new show called "Rescue Me" which stars none other than our good friend Dennis leary. Wow. He's actually a good actor. Anyway it's like Hilarious one second then dramatic then hilarious then dramatic... You get the picture?! Anyway it comes on Wed. at 10 PM EST.
It's great. It's one of the best shows I've seen in a long time.

*sigh*
My dad worked for a BC company who got bought out by an american company. Since he no longer had the job with the first company, he had an option to take out his pension. But he also had a thing in the contract or whatever when he was hired, that when he took out his pension, it would be doubled.
Plus upon the recieving of the money they( parents) put stocks in a Newfoundland ( i think) fishing company, which has since quintupled the invested amount.
My dad doesnt make 100 grand a year ( as far as i know) but hes up there somewhere. My mom doesnt work.
And they wont tell me the exact amount of the money we have, but i know its more than a million. This is including the money we had before.
I hope this has helped to answer your question.
EDIT: I just got the new Hives CD, and im super happy!!!!

I'm glad for you.
You're so rich.
Buy me The Killer's album Hot Fuss.
ok don't really.
I CAN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE...
It's killing me.
OMG what if that's their plan? To kill me by making me never find their album? Maybe it doesn't even exist?
Oh
PS You're too rich, now I hate you.

...That's a really good album :)
Being rich is kind of a double edged sword I guess. You have money, which is what everyone wants, but if you use it other people get jealous. I know, because a friend of mine recently got into lots of money and now I'm so pissed that she can get anything she wants while I have to save up to buy a $20 video game which I still don't have :(

I have known about The Killers for a long time. Now they're suddenly popular, which is good for them I guess, but bad for me as I can't find it anywhere!

I live in a wealthy community but my family isn't what I'd consider rich. I'd say we're right in the middle. Life is good though. I'd like to be wealthy when I'm a grown-up though. My grandpa is rich, and his monthly retirement checks are big too. And he receives more than he spends so it's just getting bigger and bigger. If he bought a top of the line G5 or even a new car, it wouldn't hurt him at all. And that's what I want to be able to do. To get either of those things now on my own would take months probably, maybe a year minimum. I'm not working much though, I'm going to see how college works in the fall, and if it's okay, I'm going to get a job on weekends. A G5 is on my 'To Buy' list right now.

Well Typhoid, it is only natural for one without a lot of money to be jealous of a person who had lots of it. It's human nature. And if you were "poor" you'd be jealous of someone with a couple million as well.

Many people who have everything really have nothing.
I'd rather be poor and happy than rich and miserable.

Well, this is just a question.
You are rich and the best thing you can do with your time is post on a forum?

If I were rich, I'd setup a top of the notch recording studio. I'd have more stuff then Van Halen's 5150 studio :)

Yeah, but didn't they make 1984 there? I wouldn't have changed a thing.

You know what I don't like about rich people?
[rich accent]"Awww it's terrible, I have to spend all day cleaning our yacht"[/rich accent]
THEY HAVE A YACHT!! :mad2:
Irch people often grime about how expensive things are. Why don't they shut up like everybody else.
I can't say I'm poor, but I'm not rich either. I always turn out to be mr. nice guy, dealing out food (think of bars) and inviting people for diner.
I don't mind giving, but sometimes I'd like to see something back.... :(

I know im rich and all, but thats how i feel.
Just because i have money now, people dont give me food when im at their houses or anything, but they did before. So what. I buy them things all the time, ( Pop, Chips, Candy, Subway, General food) and yet i get nothing in return, i even rarely get a "Thank You", which actually hurts that i dont get it after giving so much away.

Damn I suggest getting new friends. Seriously, that's messed up crap. My friends and I do stuff for each other all the time. Hell, there kitchens are my kitchens.
I suggest you ditch those losers, and find yourself some good quality friends. At least ones who give you gratitude.

I wish I had pizza pops. They're so yummy.

Those are some bastard friends. Just like classic rocker, my friends go in my fridge whenever, and I go in their fridge whenever. The only exceptions are supper foods like steak and chicken and stuff.. but everything else is cool.
especially delisio... Man, me and my friends go through tons of delisio pizzas.

Yeah, I think with good friends you have a mutual leeching friendship. You go in their fridge, they steal your food. It all works out.
I mean there is no problem loanin money, I mean I don't expect it back unless hugge quantites.
Maybe, you should talk with your friends instead of us. And if that doesn't work, drop em and get new friends, I know it's not easy, but if it's not a good thing for you, why stick with it?

Also, I work hard for my money. 6.50 an hour isn't really that much. 25 hours warrants you about 100 bucks less taxes and union dues.
I hate rich kids who have everything. Hell, if I was rich and had a big house, everyone would come over and have what they want from my fridge. I'll have the maid go out and get more food.

Just for clarification....The Killers suck. A lot. I saw them play a couple of songs on TV and it was one of the most horrendus displays I've seen.

Hey, I like them. I enjoy the album.
I've never seen them live or anything, or anything like that on TV.

I know this is "dead"...but its my blog.
I just wanted to say about being rich, its not all its cracked up to be, you hear people saying that money changes people. True in a sense.
Money doesnt change the holder, it changes the people around you.
Countless times i get asked for money, when i didnt before.
If i ever...ever ever need to borrow money, people spazz at me saying i can buy whatever i want to.
Even little things, like before i had money i would suggest that people buy things if they want it, but now since i have money its a big god damn production of a response to how i have enough money to buy what i want so i shouldnt make other people feel bad by suggesting things.
These points and more, are complete bullsh*t. Who cares who has money. Who cares who has what. If your so hung up on your friends, or people you know having money, and you dont, you need to be shot.
And none of these were directed at anyone, they were general of people I encounter.
