Regardless of how awesome your PC is, Battlefield 2 runs pretty subpar on every PC. The game just wasn't built to optimize any computers hardware. I give companies like Valve a lot of credit for making games that can run on 4 year old machines.

Uhmm Battlefield 2 runs marvelously on my 3GHz, 4GB RAM, X600 Radeon PC. And I only say this since I just installed 2 more GB of RAM, but it still ran smoothly on my 2GB RAM system configuration.

the thing that matters the most is you need at least 2.5GHz to run these modern games... AT LEAST. Now Battlefield 2 has a lot going on, on screen so that would be video memory. If your running at least 1GB RAM you should be fine with BF2, but if you want ease in your Framerate, you need at least 2GB.

I run BF2 at a constant 60 fps, Raven shield at 80 fps, and FEAR at 70fps. I do however crave an alienware with 8GB RAM, 3.28GHz Dualcore.... *drules*

I plan on upgrading my motherboard soon so I can cram 8GB into it...

battlefield 2 runs perfectly on my 2.8ghz, 1gb ram, geforce 6600gt oc.

my friend has it running smooth as silk on a 3ghz with 512mb ram, and a ati 9600se.

battlefield 2 runs fine on many systems. it has its share of problems, but not being able to run good isnt really one of them.

Btw kyuzo... i know ram is cheap and all... but your games arent even gunna use the full 2gb of ram.. let alone even touch 4gb.. makes the system sound cool. but i highly doubt theres anything your doing that will notice a difference from 2gb to 4gb. but i guess the days of caring about that are over with how cheap ram is now.. heh. oh well. cram away :)

hehe I never said i was cramming RAM into my system for games :p
I like to be prepared for whatever. I like to know that my setup will get me through PC games well past a generation from now.

What I like to use the RAM for is my Photoshop. I design poster prints for my room all the time, and they are huge... usually I'm designing i a 1280x1024 resolution and viewing the canvas at 33% so I don't want any type of slowness when I'm designing. A lot of times I also don't close Photoshop/Flash... I leave them running. In all I have about 6 design programs open at once all the time I'm on the computer.

Games also have recommended setups and not just minimums... for example FEAR will run smooth on a 512, 2.5GHz setup but the recommendations are 3GHz, and 1GB RAM. Maybe not much of a difference, but it's always fun to listen to recommended items.

well like i said, with how cheap it is now it doesnt matter how much you put it in. Just saying, its overkill. even for photoshop. :p

my ps3 and pc will soon be 1. :) got a widescreen LCD for christmas, (got it for myself for christmas actually. lol) but it wants me to run every game in 1440x900 resolution now. which actually i see a increase in FPS from games i used to run in 1024x768... i thought i'd see a lower frame rate going to a higher res. odd i think. amazing how amazing games look in this resolution on a LCD tho.

been tryin out Quake 3, UT2004, HL2/CSS, (and somewhat battlefield 2 since it doesnt fully support wide) and just soooo much detail in them without adjusting any graphic settings other then resolution.

cant wait to plug my PS3 into it and play thoes games on it too. :)

call this overkill but I'm planning to get an HP F2105 which is a 21" HD Monitor... lol

Re: F.E.A.R. !!!

all computer monitors are technically HD. :p im assuming tho you mean HD TV / PC montor in 1. where it has the plugs for DVD players, games, Cable TV and such.

Which is nice. i like having the option to use it as a HDTV or a PC montor.
mine has a TV card i put in the PC that i can get HDTV on. it works while its by the computer, but a HDTV/monitor can be taken away from the pc and still used.

my friend went out and bought himself a 42inch Plasma HDTV, im gunna show him how to hook his PC into that so he can play some games on it. :)

Ive got the game sitting right in front of me, but im waiting for Kingston to send my back my 512 stick of RAM that I sent them a few days ago. It was making my computer crash and it has a lifetime warranty. I really dont think I should try to play it with 512mb's of RAM.

Re: F.E.A.R. !!!

Well, I got my RAM back (props to Kingstons Lifetime warranty), and Ive started playing the game a little. The damn thing defaulted to 640x480 resolution, which is simply unaccaptable. I of course upped it to 800x600, and it sets everything else out to either medium or high, and the game runs pretty good. Not great, but good enough. Its probably about time I upgrade my graphics card though...

Did ya get scared? or get the chills? The game provides a sustainance of high tension.
