Haha, it turned out the guy is married and all. :p Oh wait, that's a rave!

So, at work today I was happily working on my business plan for the hospital, but then I was informed by the director of Business Development that he needed the twenty-year-plan for AN ENTIRE CITY scanned before I left. That was a fun 45 minutes of scanning paper... not.

As of Saturday, I weighed in at 172 and had just completed 6 days of exercise, running 43 miles for the week.

Today I step back on the scale and it says 177. WTF. I know that weight fluctuates a lot, but it was discouraging. After I worked out today it was back at 174, but it's kind of confusing, I don't really know how much I weigh.

Were you using the same scale?

Yeah, I always use the same YMCA scale.

My weight fluctuates by 5 pounds all the time. Although I'm also not overweight or trying to lose weight.

That being said, I wouldn't worry about it and would only weigh yourself every week.

Vampyr - I closed the thread because it was descending into personal attacks.

Yeah, I've heard you should only weigh yourself once a week, but I get mildly obsessed with it. It usually doesn't encourage or discourage me either way though and I continue with my routine, so I don't necessarily see the harm. I've also read a few weight-loss testimonials that say it's fine to weigh yourself often as long as you don't get too sidetracked by it. That's been my strategy, and I've been encouraged more than not, but yeah, just a rant..

You should always do it first thing in the morning - that's usually the lowest point in the day. If not, you should always weigh yourself at the same time of day and stick with it for consistency. :)

In the end, weight doesn't matter, it all matters about how you feel and how lean you are.

Yep, morning is ideal to weigh yourself. Depending on what you eat during the day and how much liquids you intake, body weight can fluctuate alot by the time you're ready for bed. Morning gives a better idea as you haven't had anything in you for an extended period so body has time to "mediate" itself.

I admit too that I weigh myself more often then need be, but its only because I know what to expect within a range of what I had the day before, and also sets the tone for how much I should work out myself. Though I'm not using it as my only metric because I have alot more muscle mass then I did a year ago.

At one point I thought I had suddenly gained 3kgs. But it was just our new scale.

Sometimes I weigh myself with clothes, shoes, keys, etc. on. I think it's between a 1 and 2 kgs difference.

Some asshole at my work or from the place we work next to stole a bunch of shit from our back room so now I keep having to waste my time being interviewed and investigated and same for all my coworkers. It's mega lame.
