MGS2 and MGS3.. and MGS1 all were driven by their long cutscenes and codec conversations. MGS4 just stuck to its roots, and just needed a lot more cutscenes to wrap up a very complex story. MGS4 was built more for the hardcore fans of the series then it was for mainstream.. even though it was advertised like it was mainstream, every person I know who wasn't a fan of the series didn't enjoy the game much. -EDIT- By the way, I didn't buy MGS4 (yet).. I haven't even bought a Ps3 or 360, I'm just lucky enough to be able to leech them off of other people whenever I really want to. So if buying something is adding to the problem, then don't blame me! (til tomorrow anyway. :)) Not saying my own buying habits won't add to the issues. Every game I'm even considering buying are sequals. Everything else is rent first buy later. |
Re: The RPG Thread
I don't play much RPGs. Golden Sun... SNES' Mystic Quest (got bored halfway)... Morrowind. I think that's about it?
I just don't like them that much. Zelda I love. |
Re: The RPG Thread
Well I've read and heard many great things about FF13. I'm holding out hope that by delaying its release stateside so long they're putting a lot of effort into making sure its top notch on release day. Which is sometimes next year I know, but still pumped as hell.

Re: The RPG Thread
I hope they stick to the normal turn based system unlike FF12.
