My friend was trying to get tickets for the 10:00 show tomorrow, but I feel like they are probably already sold out...I'll see it some time.

Edit: Well, turns out that he got the tickets as planned, so I'll be seeing the flick in a little less than 3 hours. I'm not terribly excited to see it, but I had nothing better to do...rock 'n roll.

Change of plans for me. My friends and I are going to see it this Friday after school.

Mechadragon 05-15-2003 08:33 AM

No, no you're not. I barely ever like any of the big name movies that everyone else goes ape**** over.

Xantar 05-16-2003 12:00 AM

In response to the thread question:

No. The first movie was entertaining, but it wasn't really an original concept. And the character development was laughable. I'll see the movie eventually, probably even in theaters. But I can most certainly wait.

Gamer 05-16-2003 03:53 PM

Well, i would like to change the subject and now everyone can post impressions. My impressions you ask? Ill put it this way, awsome would be an understatement.   :Pimp:

I though it was good. I would have liked to seen some more bare white rooms though where Morpheus calls up things out of nowhere. That was cool.

Aside from the movie being placed in the future, what was not original?

what???? The first matrix movie is about as original as things get.

Mechadragon 05-18-2003 01:17 AM

Well, maybe he means like the "boy is transported to a world and realizes he has powers". Other than that it was pretty original.

Xantar 05-18-2003 03:46 AM

How about the concept of "the world is not real and all your memories are just illusions?" You think that's original? Go watch Dark City and Total Recall again. Dark City has the hero finally realizing his powers which are basically flight and the ability to move everything around him with his mind. Total Recall actually gives the hero the choice to simply return to the illusion world by swallowing a blue pill. You guys can't seriously be telling me that you thought the Wachowski brothers were the first to come up with these ideas.

Not to mention it also borrowed ideas from Neuromancer.
