Jason, you have an extremely, cold hearted, disfunctional family :(

nWoCHRISnWo 02-21-2002 10:06 PM

Gekko why the hell do you suck IGN's balls so often?

IGN sucks and if anyone is paying to go there, they're probably retarded.

Glanced over PGC board...

Do the math. $.07 a day times 40,000 Insiders. take that and multiply it by 365 and you now have over 1 million dollars a year. And they can't afford to have a board for un non-insiders...BS.

sorry if it is off topic. I promise i will not do off topic post again. I just want everyone to realize how greedy IGN is.

not bad considering that all they do is steal other peoples images, tag them up and then sell em eh?

BreakABone 02-22-2002 02:25 AM

Well um is this a bad time to bring up my IGN offer.. for only 2000 dblns you can now have 2 week access (Hey the demand for the Cubes have sky rocketed so you know as will the price)

GameMaster 02-22-2002 02:53 AM

You're not gonna get any takers for 2000 doubloons. Try 500.

Chapter 11: The Downfall of IGN
I really hate those guys... I always check Tendo Box.

azazela31 02-22-2002 09:03 AM

I would pay for IGN BUT their reviews are so f@cking biased!! Mediocre games get above 9.0 scores!!

The info they have can easily be found on other sites, and the movies and pics of games can easily be found gamespot.com, gamesdomain.com

The message boards are nothing big, but f@ck them!! Hope they die.

I admit that visit IGN and it's a great site, but it's not good enough for me to dish out 10 bucks per month.

ed328 02-22-2002 01:01 PM

Do the math.

Let's assume that all 40,000 members paid $25 to get Insider, which is high cause that wasn't always the rate. That's $1,000,000. Now, IGN has a staff of 40 people. That's $25,000 per person in salary which really isn't all that much. This isn't even taking into account all of the hardware, software, bandwidth, overhead costs that are also associated with the site. Anybody who thinks IGN are making out like thieves must have failed math.

Blackmane 02-22-2002 01:17 PM

If they really did care about us, they would lay off a few people, cut back on a lot of the non-gaming garbage and then they wouldn't have to charge us and not have to make everything exclusive. Its not like they have no choice.

gekko 02-22-2002 01:46 PM

Why the hell would IGN care about you? It's like you expect IGN to care about you so much, when you aren't even willing to pay for an account.

Oh yeah how do you think other websites make money?? They also have advertising earnings and other stuff. Perhaps they get their games for free (sort of sponsering).

azazela31 02-22-2002 03:30 PM

Well I really don't care, they were a great source of info. I'd rather use the 25 dollars to buy a 3rd controllers so screw IGN.

I could understand making some of the things insider but this has gone too far. Hope they just crumble.

Angrist 02-22-2002 04:26 PM

I want the Turok movies! How come they have them exclusive???

Most don't make money. And if they do, it's because they sell a product or service. In case you haven't noticed, there have been tons of online companies that closed because they didn't make enough money to cover their expenses. It's hard in today's economic climate for a company with no offline presence to survive.

Well if you didn't notice IGN was already making a sh!tload of money. Now that they want everything to be insider screw them.

I'm not paying 25 dollars to read a ****ty 2 phrargrahp analysis of how the GCN will do next month, and to download 3 lame movies.

I mean for free this would be great, but I can find better uses for that 25 dollars.
