Funny how Chicago never managed to do anything with them, though.

Re: GO LEAFS GO
Chicago was decent when they had them. i remember the conference finals between hawks and wings in 95? i think
i hope chicago gets going again, my 2nd fav team along with the leafs. |
Re: GO LEAFS GO
Well, at least Tucker punked Kapenen. Easily one of the hardest hits I've ever seen. Do you think Sami realizes that they've won yet? :p

Re: GO LEAFS GO
Was Belfour on Blackhawks in 95? Or was he allready in Dallas?

yea, he was on Hawks Hawks had Amonte (i think) , Roenick, Chelios, Belfour. not sure bout the others, but they were quite decent. |
Re: GO LEAFS GO
The Blackhawks made the playoffs for 16 or 17 straight seasons. They were in the Stanley Cup Finals in 1992 (swept by Pittsburgh) and they made the western conference finals in 95 and lost to the wings 4 games to 1, all 4 of Detroit's wins were by one goal. That 95 team had Cheilos, Amonte, Belfour, Bernie Nichols (who still had some left in the tank at the time) Joe Murphy (same) Keith Carney, and Bob Probert. Jeremy Roenick was on the team but he missed most of 95 after Darien Hatchetman Hatcher destroyed his knee in a game (I think that was the knee year, but it may have been the jaw year, I don't remember.)
ESPN recently named the Blackhawks the worst franchise in sports and I couldn't agree more. They simply refuse to spend money, and they now average just over 10,000 people a night. This from a franchise that used to sell out every single home game. The ownership here is so spiteful; the home games aren't even televised. As if all that wasn't enough to make hawk fans puke, right when that team was coming together in 1992, their coach was Mike Keenan. He was fired because he wanted control of personal. What did he want to do? He was going to trade Ed Balfour for Joe Sakic, and put his faith in his backup goaltender....... Dominic Hasek. |
Re: GO LEAFS GO
Is all of that true?
|
Re: GO LEAFS GO
All of that is true....and i couldnt stand not having games Televised...all but i think 7 or 8 games of the Canucks wernt Televised. But out of the 70 or so games on T.V. there were about 10 on Pay Per View for like $10. I think thats better than having 20 games un-televised.
Do the other hockey cities do the Pay Per View game thing too...or just us? |

Re: GO LEAFS GO
Pretty much every Flyers is game is on Comcast Sportsnet (basic cable) here. There aren't many (if any) games that aren't either broadcast on CSN or ABC, or occasionally UPN 57 I believe.

Re: GO LEAFS GO
So none of yours are on PPV????? the Canucks games are either on CBC on Saturdays...TSN on select Wed/Thurs and then Sports net Pacific the rest that arnt on PPV..
This makes me feel like we (Canuck fans) are getting screwed out of a few free televised games... |
