Meh. I didn't think it warrented editing, since there's a topic in the General Talk forum for everybody to see with the word in it. But to put you at ease, I edited it anyway.

Best you edit your quote.

Posting anything of a pornographic nature

Antagonizing other forum users or attempting to start a flame

bash a console or person instead of adding something
constructive to the argument.

Attacking, bashing, or otherwise maliciously insulting
moderators or administrators

Posting anything of a racially offensive nature

Post-cramming or "spamming" in order to increase your

Advertising for a site in a place other than your signature

I didnt see "cursing" anywhere in there.

Also, When I see admins and moderators curse I dont see what would warrant me editing a normal users post.

If someone above me would give be a list of "forbidden" words, I would be happy to edit post to suit the list. :P

Even though it doesn't say so, to me it just seems to be understood that saying Dick and not talking about the one who's the brother of Tom and Harry, is not good.

And also since you said that cursing wasn't on the list why is it that when I type in certain words, they don't appear?

Re: Ok, what is the most embrassing thing that ever happen to you on a date

I remember a while back i typed in "***".....in between the "U" and the "K" i forgot to put the star thing : "*"...so i got the negative repping of a lifetime...but why? "***" by itself isnt a word.

And why is typing "****" better? everyone knows what your talking about, they know what the word is, so whats the harm in putting in that little "c"? there are no kids here, although some of us act like some, this word is not offensive to most, and i dont know how it could be in the least.

And i dont think we should resort to no swearing at all...thats too harsh, and it better not come down to using "secondary" words...such as " Richard" for ****...and "***" for ****......

ex: Awwww man that guy is such a ****** Richard...

personally, I hate that f word so if there is a way to minimize me having to see it I am very pleased

Re: Ok, what is the most embrassing thing that ever happen to you on a date

The restriction is already in place. I think what typhoid's getting at is the frustration of arguing semantics. Why is it better to type fu*k as opposed to fuk. Or for that matter, why is it any better than typing the actual word? Everybody knows what you're talking about either way. The intention is usually the same.

So what do you want to do? Get after them for intention - or for action? A lot of people would type the actual words if they could get away with it. The emphasis behind a replacement word (if it sounds the same as the actual word: i.e. fuk) is generally the same as the word itself.

I am not telling you how to react to those words or their replacements. What I'm saying is that you should probably look at them all the same way. Namely if they have the exact same sound as their predefined vulger counterpart.

You sign up here, you accept that there's going to be some stuff you might not want to see or hear or read. The Federal Government has decided that if you're 13, you can register without your parents' consent. You can make the decision to subject yourself to whatever's on these boards. Generally, I try to hold myself to a fairly high level of conduct. It's common courtesy. I very rarely swear on the boards, and words like "dick" and "ass" I've decided are part of everyday life. You see them on TV all the time.

Try to hold yourself to a high standard. Understand that others might not. Follow the rules of the respective forum.

Yes, it is SUPPOSED to be understood. But it wasnt in the thread stating the rules, and I see moderators and admins curse all the time. When I see someone curse, I dont edit it because I'm lazy, I edit it because admins and other moderators curse enough to blur the lines between right and wrong until I dont know the difference. Let it be known that from now on the Vampyr is cracking down then.

I agree with JS. The word is a vulgar word in the first place, and I dont like hearing it. I myself very rarely curse, SlyMoogle can verify that. I might say "damn" sometimes, but that's about it.

And, as for the "fuk", "fu*ck" and the real word, there is no difference whatsoever. It has nothing to do with the spelling of the word, it's the meaning behind it that counts.

"Ask Cybelle
if it is"? Yes? Are you sure
understood is?That is a lot. And.
It seemed like in the thread stating the rules and he or she see moderators and admins curse. How often do you see someone curse I do not edit it because I am lazy I edit it because admins and other moderators curse enough to blur the lines between right and wrong until I do not know the difference? And cracking down is Let it be known that from now on the Vampyr.
Perhaps I'm just expressing my own concern about it.
Please repeat the word to me 5 times.I haven't heard anything like that before:
said curse SlyMoogle can verify that.
Perhaps. Do you think your plan will succeed?I have never heard about The fuk fu*ck and the real word there is no difference whatsoever.Has it really?
