Yeah...fantasy is fantasy...Nearly every fantasy novel, movie, or game is comparable to LotR, as it is comarable to whatever fantasy came before it. It's all almost the same.

Which is why the world of fantasy NOVELS has begun to bore me. It's hard to find an original title now-a-days.

there is a picture of a dragon/dog thing breathing fire and you call it realistic?....j/k, the game does look mighty awesome, and i think i shall join the gang in buying said game...does anyone know the release date for it?....I also think they should branch Zelda games out to other system too,...unless they already did....then good for them...

That has nothing to do with the fantasy genre itself. The reason why fantasy novels have become so boring and unoriginal is that hardly anyone (publishers, authors, readers) is willing to break out from the style and method LotR used and publish, writer, or read something different.

I'm actually writing a report on that for school. Funny how it's come up...

I almost creamed my pants when I saw it.

Um, you have to admit it looks very LotR. Really, what's so bad about that? Besides I'm sure it will have a completely awesome story, very non-LotR.

Besides, Ganon will always be there.

Also, you guys do realize Video Games will suck when Shiggy retires? The thought came to me a while earlier... What will we do without his games?!

I'll defend Jonbo in that it is kind of annoying because the Legends of Zelda games existed way before any of Peter Jackson's renditions. So if anything, all three Lord of the Rings movies are complete, total, lousy rip-offs of the Legend of Zelda story. In your face LotR fans!

I've thought about this, but Shiggy isn't even directing this game according to IGN. He's still a producer, but I have a feeling that Shiggy can pass his wisdom down to the point where a capable young gentlemen can make a new Zelda game. Wasn't Capcom very involved with the development of Seasons and Ages? I think the Zelda formula is pretty obvious. I'd hope no one comes along and screws it up.

Well, capcom originally was making the Oracle games without the help of Shiggy, but then they realized they couldnt do it. They called up Shiggy, and he helped them fix everything that wasnt right. And that my friends is the story of how the Oracle games became awesome.

But, I think there is someone somewhere who can fill Shiggy's shoes.

That's BS and you know it.

The games before this one didn't look remotely like the Lord of the Rings movies. Not to mention the fact that the movies were obviously based on the books which were released long before the Legend of Zelda. Even still, the Lord of the Rings movies themselves had zero influence from the appearance of the Legend of Zelda series.

I hope for your sake that you were joking.
