But, oh gosh, where do you come up with these questions? Then again, maybe I don't want to know.
Because I had to chose once!

Actually, no. It just popped into my head. And I remember that I used to get asked this question alot when i was a little kid. I don't know why, though. Stupid friends at school, trying to mess up my mind.

Ditto.

That is the stupidest thing ever. You can't decide, so all three of you would die? That is just really stupid, IMO.

Why?

Because you should always cherish you life to the fullest. And you cannot always be a hero. Might as well save 2 people (yourself and one parent) than killing three. Think about it, trying to save both parents is kind of like a homicide and suicide.

So then what's the point of this question if you think there is only one good answer? Besides hearing why people would choose one or the other (which really isn't all that interesting as it will more than likely come down to logic, like Kitana's answer), I think this is pointless.

Because, it's all hypothetical. Not only is there very little chance of anything like this happening, let alone you knowing what the exact outcome of each choice you could make would be, but you're answering this question while you sit in your chair next to the warm light of your monitor; of course you say you will be heroic.

But until you're actually outside a blazing hot house, where you can feel the heat even though you're far off, with the sounds of wood crackling and breaking, and your parents screaming and your heart wrenching, you don't know what the hell you're gonna do.

Just like if you ask most people (including myself) if they would take the bullet for your closest best friend (or closest person to you), most people will say yes without hesitation because they like to think of themselves as heroic (again, including myself). But it doesn't work that way, and if you really try to place yourself in that situation (which you still really can't do until you're actually there), you'll realize it's not that simple.

So I don't like this question because almost everyone will choose to be the hero. But heroes happen at the spark of the moment, not in these circumstances.

Joeiss, I don't mean to be an ass. If what you wanted was why people would choose one or the other then fine. But to me, these types of questions from the onset just don't work.

My answer would be Kitana's, because, well, that's logical; but even ignoring everything I just said before, my answer doesn't take into account the severe emotions I would be going through as I tried to make a clear decision. To me, this question just doesn't work like this.

My dad? A role model? heh....

I'd save my mom... *cough*

Maybe if the house burns down or something my mom will have to move in with one of her sisters for awhile because she can't afford her own place and I could go live out in the nice peaceful countryside with them.... and get away from my dad's side of the family... :sneaky:

But they're rarely on the second floor... they'd either be in the basement (which has a door leading outside) or the first floor, so they'd be the first ones out, probably ;)
