Re: The Fourth Annual NFL Playoff Pickem’

If we beat San Diego this week, and New England beats Jax (which they will, I just hope the Jags beat them up a little), it will be a scenario that actually compares to last year's AFC Championship game. I don't think it will be as crazy for me as a fan, because last year was nuts. The difference between winning (beating NE in the playoffs, first Superbowl appearance in the Manning era, likely SB victory over Bears) and losing (NE wins 4th SB, Colts and Manning will never get past NE in the playoffs ever, chance that Colts never win a SB in this era, tons of negative media attention and pressure on the colts moving forward) was so incredibly huge.

This year, the only reason why it makes it close is because of the prospect of ruining a perfect season...I would love that the Patriots went 16-0, given they don't win the SB...that would be phenominal. In fact, I would prefer that to them going 15-1 and losing in the playoffs. More to lose. However, I'll get physically ill if they go 19-0...and trust me, I have the doctor's appointment ready for early February.

It's looking as though Terrell Owens won't be able to play this week... so I think that gives the upward looking Giants a real chance against the slumping Cowboys.

Actually, it's looking as though Owens will play against the Giants now.

Not really surprising...I mean, if you watched the Pats/Eagles Superbowl where he played a few weeks after breaking his leg, then it shouldn't be surprising. T.O might be a dick but he plays and plays hard.

Packer rally at Lambeau Field tonight - everyone is invited!

I don't know how to feel.
I want Seattle to win, but it's better for me if Green Bay wins.

Aaargh.
Never bet on heart.

I was on vacation with my girlfriend when I should have been here placing my bets! Damn girlfriend ;)

To keep you people honest on the scoring, I bring back my GT Super Superbowl Spreadsheet Thingie. You can download it here.

Or view it here (but note you can't edit it using this).

Amazing game so far in the snow at Lambeau...Nothing better than football in the snow. Too bad Grant can't hold onto to the ball...so far.

EDIT: Great early comeback by the Pack attack. 21-14

THE PACK ATTACK CANNOT BE STOPPED.

Dear Diary: Fuck.

To be fair, The Seahawks never get to play in the snow, so they aren't used to it.

Well, if they would've played better during the season, they would've gotten home field advantage.

Your blaming the weather on the seahawks lack of wins?
Odd rebuttle.

Anyways, that win was good for me points-wise.

No, he's saying if they had won enough games during the regular season to secure home field advantage, the weather wouldn't be a factor...

Interesting game between the Patriots and Jaguars so far, 14-14 at the half.

Where the hell were the Jag's keeping this all season?

Wow, so much celebrating. The Packers beat a team which has only one ONE single away playoff match in history, and it was 24 years ago. Had you lost... that would be embarrassing.

It's like what will happen when you play at Dallas. Favre has never won a single game there in his career, so we all know he's going to lose.

The Packers are done. Might as well start preparing for next season.

The Jaguars have been impressive... but they're going to have to stop the Patriot's offense as least twice here in the late 4th quarter to win.

It's sort of like the Patriot's are grossly underestimating them at times though, I honestly think the Jaguars can win - with a prayer.

oh, I just looked at the TV. I haven't done that in a while.
Nevermind.

Closest score differential for the superbowl?

You don't have to break that one out until the final game anyways, to even know if it's needed or not.

That is, of course, if the Cowboys beat the Giants :p

As far as I am concerned, that is the most exciting game this weekend. I know I put the Cowboys as beating the Giants, but I think it will be close.

Was anyone able to see if that was a legitimate holding call on Cromartie's INT return for a TD?

From my end it looked like a bad call.

Edit: I really don't like Philip Rivers.

KillerGremlin 01-13-2008 04:25 PM

Re: The Fourth Annual NFL Playoff Pickem’

Philip Rivers is such a dick. I wanted to see the Patriots lose, but now I look forward to Tom Brady shoving some 40+ points down that team's throat.

Yeah, he really needs to take a cue from the superior QBs in the NFL and learn some sportsmanship.

Edit: Looks as though I may have underestimated the Giants this post-season...

NFC Championship game at Lambeau!

Yeah, damn Giants...Though since I become a Packers fan at this time, I'm glad NY has to go to Lambeau...

I think Typhoid basically has this locked up... it's safe to say the Giants hurt a lot of people.

Edit: Nothing better than watching Terrell Owens get all emotional with his shades on.

I was at the bar to watch the second half of the game, and everyone was making fun of Owens for being such a "pussy".

He kinda is...

Lol, the big surprise this weekend was the Colts vs. Chargers game...what the hell happened?

As far as the Giants go, I kinda expected the Bucs to beat them. The Cowboys though...that's a rivalry I won't touch. I'm happy to see TO and Romo out.

Anyway...Packers vs. Patriots Super Bowl...

Just like '96 all over again...without Reggie White and Desmond Howard and Drew Bledsoe...and the Patriots will be heavy favorites rather than underdogs this time. That was a fun Super Bowl though.

Re: The Fourth Annual NFL Playoff Pickem’

wow, the colts really blew it...that's the worst i've seen the defense play this season, right when it mattered most.

and tony dungy will likely retire...what a way to go. that's a real tough loss...if it wasnt for the SB last year, I would be a lot more devastated than i am right now.

P.S. It's -4 degrees here right now without wind chill.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to watching a game in a -15 or so wind chill. Probably wouldn't want to be there, but I'll watch it with my dad/grandad who are huge Packer fans so it should be entertaining.
