Couldn't you buy it somewhere else? Or had you already paid (a part)?

They best part is when they beat you to death!

Re: Fallout 3

so i've been playing since my last post and it seems to me like it's oblivion with guns =/

i can't really place my finger on it, but it just doesn't seem as good as i thought it would, at least not yet, i've only just got into megaton (have been exploring quite a bit), so i still have a lot to do and a lot of places to visit...

and no Angrist, unfortunately i couldn't. I pre-paid for the game, and then called about 5 other locations to see if i could get the copy from there, but none of them had any...

This game is so fun. I loved sneaking around the Super-Duper Mart.

So, I must say, this game looks like a lot of fun. But, I didn't like Oblivion. Will I like Fallout 3?

Happydude 10-30-2008 06:07 PM

Re: Fallout 3

well, as big of a fan as i am of fallout...i have to say that Fallout 3 fell short of my expectations. The only things that are "fallout" about it is VATS, the environment, and the story. Everything else screams oblivion, from the NPC interaction, to the gameplay.

In oblivion, you ran around, doing quests, eventually finishing the main quest while collecting items, making items, and killing random bad creatures that you encountered throughout the world...sadly, this game is no different.

I think what ruins it the most for me is the camera (same as oblivion, by the way...either first person or third person) and the real-time battle system (which, by the way, is identical to oblivion without the VATS).

And don't get me wrong, i loved oblivion, i put a good 40 hours into the game at least, and i no doubt will do the same with fallout...i just wish it had more fallout features. Options to have turn-based battles, or to have a helicopter camera view, and maybe *something i haven't tested yet* be able to talk to brahmin if you intelligence was very low would make this game feel a hell of a lot more like fallout.

anyway, back to the game...

I mean the dog that sticks around with you and is your companion. His name is dogmeat. :lolz:

Re: Fallout 3

I found the schematics for a nuka-cola grenade today. It takes nuka-cola quantum, a tin can, turpentine and abraxo cleaner to make. The pretty explosion is well worth the 700 caps it took to buy alone but the added high damage and setting things on fire as well makes it so much more worth it. Now if I could only find more quantum nuka-colas laying around.

And Swan where do you find The Antagonizer and The Mechanist?

In the tunnel with all the traps there is a turn off, and it looks like a train car is blocking it but it really isnt. Go in there, be careful there are some traps.

Re: Fallout 3

I beat the game today.

60 hours and a bit. I did all side quests but 2 ( one of them being unavailable cause i killed the people who apply to it.) One of the best games ive played ever. A little disapointed by the ending, maybe just because i knew it was over.

Wont spoil anything but the last battle up to the climax is friggin aweosme. Theres one particular element envolved that kicked major amounts of ass, and make me laugh out loud.

Dylflon 11-24-2008 12:53 AM

Re: Fallout 3

I'm over 30 hours and still haven't done even half the quests.

It blows my mind how easy it is to spend most of your in-game time just exploring.

Fox 6 11-24-2008 12:57 AM

Re: Fallout 3

I explored so much, but didnt go to all the places i wanted to. I wanted to see the white house, and i never went into the capital building. I had the explorer perk too. The map is so busy with locations, especially the down town area

Typhoid 11-24-2008 02:59 AM

Re: Fallout 3

I just bought this game today.
I can easily see replayability in it. Easily.

The thing I like so far, is that the XP you earn is directly tied to what difficulty you play on.

That said, I find ammunition management child kickingly annoying.
I'm not that far in the game at all, I literally just started - but there is nowhere for me to get ammo, and I'm stuck beating things with a bat.

Happydude 11-24-2008 07:48 AM

Re: Fallout 3

don't worry, that's just the beginning of the game, later on you should have any problem with ammo unless it's something like Microfusion cells...they are more rare than the other types.

Fox 6 11-24-2008 12:33 PM

Re: Fallout 3

Make sure to get the perk where you find more ammo. I ended with 4000 + assault rifle ammo, and i used it often.

Dylflon 11-24-2008 12:45 PM

Re: Fallout 3

Correction: I'm at 40 hours and haven't even done half the quests.

I will explore everywhere.

Combine 017 11-24-2008 03:57 PM

Re: Fallout 3

Ive got 66 hours and I think ive almost completed all the side quests, I just need to find 30 nuka-cola quantums. Not sure how far I am into the main quest but I think im coming up to the end soon. The capitol building is quite a battle to get into with Enclave soldiers, super mutants and talon mercs in and around the building and then theres a large surprise waiting inside for you as well.

Why do you need to collect that many nuka cola quantums? I've been using mine to make nuka-cola grenades. should i start saving them?

There is a side quest where some lady wants you to get her 30 of them. Shes offers you caps and the schematics to the quantum grenade, V2 if you already have 1. Alternatively, some guy who lives next to her offers you more money if you bring them to him so he can give them to her, cuz he likes her and wants to score.

Combine 017 11-25-2008 01:32 PM

Re: Fallout 3

How do you not see the similarities? Three Dog is maybe a few years older and possibly a bit dirtier but its pretty much the same.

If I had photoshop i would have put the faces side by side. Someone want to do that?

Holy shit. They do look exactly the same.
