Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Needs to be more lunchador, less Sub-Zero.
I'm more interested in that thing in the shadows. Is that an eye or a camera? |
Re: The Dark Knight Rises
I think they've consolidated the venom delivery system with the mask which is why it looks less luchadory.

They were really thinking ahead when they were considering the blu-ray trilogy packaging.

I really didn't think this was a very good teaser, mostly because you couldn't understand what Gary Oldman was saying. I had to put on headphones and listen to it on youtube.

no windscreen? Catwoman won't ever have to dine out, with all the insects she'll be projectile swallowing.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Awesome poster. Going to see the prologue on thursday. I'm now wondering why it's called Rises if Bane is going to do what I think he's going to do to Batman. Can't wait for this flick.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Apparently all those who have already seen it couldn't understand Bane at all: http://www.bleedingcool.com/2011/12/...the-full-film/
Let us know how it was for you. |

Nolan says the movie takes place 8 years after TDK, but the prologue sounds like it takes place immediately after. Its possible Bane breaks Batman and it skips 8 years. |

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Ah yes, I saw that yesterday. I never understand what the Batman hype is about... I liked Begins, but I almost fell asleep during TDK. This new thing... I just don't get it I guess.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises
He's still doing the voice I see.

Though it seems a lot more toned down than in TDK Or maybe he isn't breathing heavy yet |
Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Well, this movie takes place a number of years later right? Someone must have told him it sounds silly in all that time. I can never take him seriously as Batman. :(
|
Re: The Dark Knight Rises
I'm in the minority of people who like the voice. It serves many purposes - it disguises his real voice and makes him sound scary to the criminals he's beating up.
|
Re: The Dark Knight Rises
Sounds like he's perpetually out of breath. It's not even just the voice. His mouth looks weird as well. It's like the mask doesn't allow for enough movement. Ah well. One last movie and then we get a new Batman and I can find something different to complain about.
And I'm in the minority for this, but this series has been my least favorite interpretation of Batman. Plus my least favorite movies that Nolan has directed and Bale has starred in. |

I just never read the comics (that's an American thing I guess). I have a hard time taking something like Captain America serious. And the whole Thor thing seems so farfetched. With Batman it's something else. He's actually the hero I grew up with most (cartoons etc.). I think he's cool enough and I loved Batman Begins. I just hated The Dark Knight. It was way too long, nothing happened and the story was all over the place. The only good thing was the villain... and now TDKR doesn't look too promising on that front. I'll watch it eventually, but I won't have high expactations. I just don't get what's so good about these movies. |
Re: The Dark Knight Rises
To each their own, I guess. Personally, I thought DKR was thematically terrifying and the first "important" comic book movie, as it was a metaphor for very real and modern concerns. Also, the way it was filmed was unique for a comic book movie to that point. It was filmed like a crime thriller, with realistic settings (Chicago). This made for a far more engaging story, IMO, because it felt real and not like a fantasy.
Juxtapose that with the original movie that felt like pure fantasy. I still think the original is a good movie, but it's striking how different two versions of the same universe can be, and how both versions can be extremely successful. |

Proof it is possible to love the movie and hate the voice.

I like the Voice... almost always. One exception is the one near the end of TDK with the Joker. One sentence, three long breaths. Then again Batman probably was out of breath. Man, Kevin Smith is a consistently funny guy. |
