Really? What did you not like about the Switch 2? I have watched a bit of Digital Foundrys coverage of the switch 2, and seems that in terms of raw power its in the ballpark of the Steam Deck, especially in docked mode. Might be a bit less powerful in handheld mode then a steam deck. But overall they seemed to agree it seems to be a decent machine. I wish I could play Prime 4 on it but will probably just play it on my OG Switch.

A lot of it has to do with me being done with consoles for the most part. I kind of like knowing that if I buy a game now I can 99% be sure I can play it in 15-20 years without worrying about “is it backwards compatible?”

That’s just one thing

Replayed Mad Max recently and it's amazing with an RTX 3080 and rock solid 1440p/144fps. Now I'm suffering through the Saints Row reboot.... going to need to replay Sleeping Dogs in 4k as a palette cleanse.

RIP Ozzy and Hogan

Slowly making my way through Ghost of Tsushima. Next single player game will be Indiana Jones The Great Circle. I find it hard to get into single player games because of the time required.

I usually play FHSWEurope mod for BF1942 about once a week. Server fills up Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun

Build a new PC with a 6900XT and 5800X3D. First thing I do is install BF1942 + Mods lol. I'm old

Most of my game purchases as of late are on GOG. I really love what they do with the DRM-free and offline install stuff. Plus they do a lot of the legwork for rescuing abandonware games.

From what I've seen, the Switch 2 screen is a bit of a joke. Nintendo doing Nintendo things.
I calculated what it would cost me to get the console(Mario Kart bundle) + controller and it comes to $950 cdn. Not including their online sub.
I can't abide with that

Don't think I visited GT yet this year!

Very lately I've been replaying the 3D Zelda games. At first it was a desire to replay Majora's Mask for the 25th anniversary, but obviously I can't do that without first going through Ocarina of Time.

I play both with the Ship of Harkinian PC ports. Highly recommend doing this if you feel like revisiting these games.

Initially that was the plan, but that got me on a Zelda kick, so I moved on to The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, both the HD versions on Wii U.

Then of course I had to move on to Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. I was actually interested in revisiting these some time due to the Switch 2 upgrades so that was nice to experience. Its the kind of thing that I really noticed at first in Breath of the Wild, but once I got used to it it sort of just melded with my prior memories of the games' performance on the OG Switch.

I did also sneak in a playthrough of the original Legend of Zelda in there on a down day; I had a couple of weeks off. Started A Link to the Past, but don't know if I'll go through and complete it.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment came out while in BotW/TotK, so held off on that until I beat TotK. Just completed that last night (the story; I probably won't continue with the post game stuff).

Game playing has otherwise slowed down a lot. I took December off of the classes and stuff I take, but that's back full throttle in January and its hard to do something like "video games" consistently.
