I've only gotten to play the game for about 1.5 hours so far, and have gotten 4 shines.
It's an awesome game, but I'm not very good at it yet.

For instance, I couldn't beat that cave in the 1st level, in which you have to press the switch, and collect the 8 red coins inside. It's freaking hard.


BTW, I have a question: As soon as I get 10 blue coins, should I go to the boathouse right away to buy the Shine?

Because I got 10 and went to buy it, and he asked me 'am I sure I wanna buy it' 2 or 3 times, sort of leading me to believe that I should save up the blue coins.

Any reason for this, or should I just trade them in fore the shine every time I get 10?

as far as i know saving blue coins wont do anything in particular. there is sorta one advantage to saving them, cuz say if you save them and trade 30 or wutever at one time you'll get 3 shines right there which is faster than going there over and over everytime you get 10 blue coins. its a good question though, i dont know why the guy asks "are you sure" because there really isnt any significance to the blue coins other than trading them for shines. maybe someone else knows.

Well, if you want to get 120 shines you have to find all the blue coins and trade them in for Shines. But if you don't want to get 120 shines I guess you don't have to trade them in. You might want to just keep them and not trade them in so you know how many you have collected.

You will enjoy it very much, Danny. Turn that frown upside down and make yourself a grilled cheese sandwhich to pass the time.

It makes no difference if you get 10 blue coins and turn it in for a shine or get all 240 and turn them in at once. Only difference is the amount of times you get to see "Shine Get!" but that doesn't apply to you guys :p

I feel cheated with no "Shine Get." I have to say it out loud myself. :(

I'm sorry, but this ****ing camera is annoying me to death. You know that park level where you have to climb the maze thing behind the Ferris Wheel? Damn camera...

I feel tons of pain. I too hated that part. I fell many a time. But thankfully I passed that hellish nightmare.

Blockbuster still hasn't got it in yet. I went there 3 times today and called once in addition to that.

On my second trip there I passed a girl who on her cell phone said "You there Mario?". (I swear that actually happened.) Taking this as a sign I rushed the rest of the way shoving a group of kids who I thought would steal my copy of sunshine. There was no Mario and the kids went to the Xbox section.

go out and climb to the top of that grid thing above the swinging boats. and just hover across, between the fariswheel bars and vwala. your on the top. (quite easy going thro the bars of the fairis wheel)


i did this first, thinking it was the Correct way. then i peeked down behind the tower from above and was like.... DAMN, thank god i didnt have to get up here that way.

cool game so far... i think ive got 17 shines or so :unsure:
anyway.. i must sleep.. then i wont get to play much the next 2 days :(and the camera can get damn annoying... i jus beat that manta storm thing... took me like 3 tries.... didnt know there was coins sround there to refil my life ;)

I went to blockbuster... they didn't have Mario... I got Onimusha 2 instead... I am enjoying Onimusha 2... I can't stop playing Onimusha 2... I need to be reading more of The Vampire Lestat but I cannot stop playing Onimusha 2... somebody please shoot me...

Listen to Null. That's the way I did it. I tried climbing it for fun, what a pain. But I did succeed.

I haven't had a problem with the camera yet, as long as you use the C Stick, it shouldn't be that hard.

I did eventually climb it though, just that darn camera wasn't much fun.

I tried climbing up the back way like 2 times and the friggin camera pissed me off so much that I went to the front. It was just so much easier that way. And the view from up there is nice.

The stupid Piranha is back! I woke him up and now he's flying around the local town! How do I defeat him? He's too high up! :mad:

I can't remember exactly because I've been past that part for awhile, but I think you have to wait for him to start shooting the "mud" stuff while in the air. While he's doing that, I think you're supposed to shoot water up into his mouth and eventually he will fall to the ground, then just do the regular thing like before by butt stomping his belly button.
I don't know if this is the way, but I think its either close or correct.

Shoot him down with those little fishlike guys that attach to your nozzle. Then, where he lands squirt water into his mouth and butt stomp him. Repeat this process three times and you have won.

It's a little hard at first I must say though, gets frustrating.

Went to Blockbuster 7 times in the last 2 days. Finally gave up and got SSB:M.

AH! That area behind the ferris wheel is incredibly annoying! I prolly played it for about 45 minutes, kept falling, and finally gave it up...but I swear, im not going to cheat...Im going to get to the top the back way...I'LL DO IT!

The mission on the roller coaster is impossible!! There's too many bullet Bills! I can't move back and forth hitting as well as the giant Bowser. Anyone have any strategy for beating that mission? The dirty lake mission is also kind of hard. I have trouble getting from one leaf to another before they disenagrate and if you fall in the muck it's kinda of hard to get back on th leaf and your life just gets wiped. Oh well, gotta keep practicing.

I think i have about 50 shines but havent played for a few days... cause im only alloud to play on fridays and saterdays :(... whatver.. i guess its for the best.. i wont fail this year..

Ok, the town you start off in has a tower and at the top of the tower is a revolving star that's dirty. Also up there is a weird red pipe. Somewhere off a little ways is another red pipe on top of a building except that it has a giant pineapple in it. What gives? How do I get to that red pipe and the shine for cleaning off the revolving star in the tower?

1, you need the red nozzle. 2, you need Yoshi.

why do you need yoshi? thought it was just the rocket nozzle thing

I am referring to the 2nd pipe.

The one on top of one of the houses.. or on top of the huge shine thing?

Actually I can clean the revolving shine without the rocket booster but getting the shine you need the rocket because it's high up in the sky.

Another question: What's the secret of the dirty lake? What do I do?

i havent beaten it yet.. but im pretty sure you go into a cave then press a red button and you have 2 minutes to get 8 red coins...

ride the leaves over to the little waterfall thing behind the big windmill. jump into the waterfall and u play a bonus level, its quite hard too

Uhh, I hate all those stupid bonus levels. :mad: I'm tired of this, here Danchastu, have my copy of Mario Sunshine, it's too hard for me. I want Animal Crossing. :mad:

Im prolly really slow but like 3 days ago i figured out a really fast way to clean a big area...
You know how you do the back flip and a big splash of water comes out? well if you do that really really fast you can clean huge areas really quick.. like that level where you gotta clean the goop in like 3 min.. i do that wit like 2 min remaining.. and i could prolly do it eaven faster than that...

Just so you know.. but it eats water faster than the turbo nozzle :unsure:

i just started playing sms like 3 days ago and i can only play it for like 3 hours a day cuz thats when my friend comes over and we play it but i never die so my turn goes on forever!!! haw haw haw

Well here's why I posted I have 53 shines on my third day playing it how am I doing?

I forgot one more thing does anyone else get pissed off at camera angles and the fact that mario has to clean this crap up is pretty gay..... i liked it better when he jumped on people.
