Re: Why WoW Lost Me
Undead Warlock is my absolute favorite.
My girlfriend and I are considering playing again, and if we did we'd be Blood Elves. Me probably a Warlock again. |

I loved the combination of spamming DoTs and shadowbolts.
Warlocks are especially effective when we you're fighting multiple targets. I'd always dot them all up... and just repeat. Top of the damage meter. And yeah, I usually stole aggro from the tanks. :D |

Oh and don't worry. I always brought the mob back to the tank. I once had Nefarian on me. |

If they frequently pulled aggro, I usually just assumed they didn't have their threat meter turned on, or didn't know how to use it... Although this usually only happened in pug heroic runs, not during playtime with the guildies... Though to be fair, I was never in a guild good enough to take on a top raid dungeon such as the one Nefarian was in pre-TBC, so obviously you had to have some idea of what you were doing ;o |

Re: Why WoW Lost Me
Haha yeah it's true I guess. :D I only overaggrod a boss once (Broodlord). I was really sorry about that. But we were still training and the boss really had a low aggro treshold.
I just liked aggroing non-boss mobs from time to time. Always trying to find my own limits, but not on important stuff. I never wiped the raid. And Nefarian was because the main tank died. I brought him to the off-tank without too much damage. And I died of course. I probably said on TeamSpeak that they should let me die instead of wasting heals and time on me. :) I miss that. |
Re: Why WoW Lost Me
Started warlock alt.
fun |
Re: Why WoW Lost Me
As a tank, people purposely fighting over the damage meters and messing up threat annoys the life out of me. On my tankadin it was a lot more annoying than my warrior though, since my warrior gets a lot more threat on single targets faster.. it isn't so bad.
For the most part though, warlocks I've played with generally aren't very good. I've never had an isue holding threat off of a warlock. IN fact, my pally and warriors have out damaged its fair share of warlocks in my day. I think its the players though. |
Re: Why WoW Lost Me
As a healer people messing up threat is even more annoying, because they usually blame you when they die. Rogues are usually the worst for some reason.

I'm not sure how the dps now, but in the half year before TBC it was like this, from best to worst (dps classes only [we didn't reall use dps warriors]): mage rogue/warlock hunter Sometimes the tanks would outdamage the hunters, it was pathetic. I think most warlocks and hunters were too lazy to make an effort. When my brother joined his first guild with just blue items, he outdamage all the hunters with epics. |
Re: Why WoW Lost Me
Hunter is the easiest DPS class on the game in my opinion. If they get outdamaged by a tank they fail.
Only exception to the rule I can give is crowd controling. Sometims the situation is screwed up enough to really destroy hunter's DPS. But still. lol I think warlock is one of the harder DPS classes if its a lot of short fights opposed to a string of longer ones. Their front end DPS isn't too hot, but when those DoTs stack it starts getting nuts. A good warlock is lovely. :P |
