I can't believe the Patriots won. On one hand...seeing Dick Jauron fail is always great. But I hate that smug Patriots team. That McKelvin guy ruined that whole game for the Bills. And what the heck happened in Oakland!? The Raiders should have won too! Philip Rivers is like the one guy who I want to see lose more than the Patriots. Man this night was awful.

So the Eagles signed Garcia as a backup in case McNabb can't come in for a while, and they activated Vick, who will be able to start practicing after the game vs. the Saints. This should be interesting.

Week 2 coming up...

McNabb is officially out of this one. Kolb gets the start. Most people are picking the Saints, but I think Kolb has a better game than people expect. If the Eagles can somewhat contain Brees, I like the Eagles to win a close one.

Also, very excited to see a punter hit the damn scoreboard in Dallas tonight.

PS: An old high school acquaintance was the first ever to plug an Xbox 360 into that massive screen. He does lights for the Jonas Brothers and decided to give it a go. Apparently it costs $100 an hour just to power that thing. Best part is that this guy is a high school dropout and now does some of the biggest tours in the world....

Alright, back to football!

Eagles failing pretty hard right now. Damn it.

Yeah, the defense look pretty awful right now. But then again, NO tends to do that to defenses. I thought the Birds would do better, though.

Jets beat the Pats.

Don't expect much from the Jets, but hey anything that shuts up New Englanders.

Rodgers threw to Jennings literally once or twice that entire game. Unreal.

Didn't he have a case of the drops too? His wrist must have still been screwed up. My fantasy team suffered for it.

WOW. What an exciting week of football.

The JETS beat the Patriots and improve to 2-0. The Jets look like the team to beat this year. And the Ravens, now an offensive force apparently, put the hurt on San Diego. I say good riddance too, I'm not a San Diego fan.

How about that NFC North too. I have to imagine if you are a Packers fan you are getting a little worried now. This Packers Offense and Aaron Rodgers are still shaky. Will the Pack suffer the same problems they did last season and be unable to close down victories? And how about them Lions! They looked pretty good today. They look like they will win a few games this year. And the Vikings look like the #1 threat in the NFC North right now. Adrian Peterson is a BEAST! And when you have a veteran like Favre managing an offense with a weapon like Peterson...well...

Personally, I'm more worried about the Bears playing Peterson and the Vikings than I was seeing the Bears play the Steelers.

Which brings me to Chicago. Cutler calmed down as expected. He looked like he did during preseason and the 4th quarter of last week. And Johnny Knox is shaping out to be one hell of a player. Greg Olsen, Johnny Knox and Devin Hester....and you people said Cutler would have no one to throw the ball to (actually, I said that :p). The Bears have a beastly front four too. And it appears Urlacher's absence isn't going to be a defensive deal breaker. Of course I'm still cautious, we will see how Chicago does in the next 5 or 6 games....

I'm really more interested in Green Bay's drama right now and Minnesota's success.

But Kyle Orton and the Broncos look like they did good today. I wish Orton the best. Right now it appears Cutler does a few things that puts him above Orton but I maintain that Orton was a hardworking, smart and mature player. That said, I look forward to seeing how Cutler plays the rest of the season...the Bears won today with the pass game, which is always exciting in Chicago when we depend on the run so much.

Desean Jackson is the man. He's too much of a hot dog for my tastes, but I guess when you're that fast, it doesn't matter.

Also, Vick is back and he hasn't played or done all that much as expected. Haven't seen enough of him to really make a judgement, but he looked pretty good on his first 7 yeard run.

Classic. I loved seeing how mad 49ers fans got because of that play.

Why do the Vikings look like a decent team this year? Oh yeah...Adrian Peterson. :p

When did the NFC North become somewhat competitive? The Lions look like a decent team, it's about time they won a game.

Also, if you are McNabb you have to be wondering about job security, right?

And the Jets....woo.

I'm looking forward to tonight's game. I hope the Cowboys go down.

Re: Official NFL Thread 2009-2010

I think right now the Eagles have a mess on their hands in the QB position.

You have McNabb hurt but will be back soon.

Kolb is playing very well, especially for an unseasoned youngster.

Vick looks lackluster at best, but by collecting $5 million a year he's burning a hole in the bench.

Lets not forget Garcia, but at least he knows to keep out of the picture as much as possible. If Kolb tanked, the situation would be even worse.

So if McNabb comes back and plays poorly, what then? Honestly, signing Vick is a situation that has zero upside. It still blows my mind that it happened at all.
