Re: NFL 2011-2012
Did anyone else catch the epic Rodgers to Finley pass over the middle? That was literally impossible to defend.
|
Re: NFL 2011-2012
I'm afraid this girl is going to cry twice a year as long as Aaron Rodgers is our QB. |
Re: NFL 2011-2012
Is this the same girl?
EDIT: Hmm, she doesn't look the same, but it's the same reaction. |
Re: NFL 2011-2012
Did anyone see the Jets get Tebowned on Thursday night?
People are backing Tebow up, but I cannot buy the hype. I think he sucks and has had a lucky break from his defense. All he brings to the table is the run game Denver did not have. The point is...the Jets suck. |
Re: NFL 2011-2012
Rex Ryan is so overrated.
I think what Tebow has done is admirable in the face of his critics (he is 4-1), but his style of play is probably not sustainable in the NFL... so I would agree. |
Re: NFL 2011-2012
The thing is, Denver got stomped by the Lions. And we aren't even certain the Lions are a top-tier team. All the other teams they have beat with Tebow suck.
|
Re: NFL 2011-2012
I'm not creating an entirely new thread for this, fuck that. Close enough.
The CFL conference finals are today. I'm super pumped that the BC Lions are where they are right now. They started the season 0-5, finished with a record of 11-7, won home field advantage for this game (BC Place is the loudest CFL stadium, so many opposing QB snap-errors due to noise), and have a chance to play the Grey Cup game which happens to be here this year. Different type of Football or not, that's still a damn good storyline. Today will either be really really good, or really really bad. Edit: hahaha...Tebowned. I like that. I also imagine getting "Teboned" is what his wife/girlfriend/mistress does. |
Re: NFL 2011-2012
Packers vs. Lions next week on Thanksgiving day is going to be fun. I hope James Starks is okay.
|
Re: NFL 2011-2012
Packers vs. Lions is going to be FUCKING AWESOME.
It better be a shoot out. I don't want to see ANY defense (not that unlikely of a scenario, really...). 74-69 better be the final score. And Dolphins vs. the Cowboys? That should be good too. The Dolphins are suddenly hot, and the Cowboys are all about losing easy games, flip-flopping, and Romo-ing. |
Re: NFL 2011-2012
Jay Cutler....broken thumb...throwing arm....surgery.
Probably out for season. Fuck. It was a fun rally mid season. See you in 2012 NFC North. |
Re: NFL 2011-2012
Yay, the Eagles season is kind of still alive, and Vince Young kind of did it!
Though it could all be over again if they lose to the Patriots next week. |
Re: NFL 2011-2012
What were your thoughts on Vince Young?
I thought it was ballsy as fuck to come out the gate throwing a deep pass. Of course it was picked.... But he settled down, picked up the pace of his throwing motion, planted sooner. He looked alright. He's not Michael Vick, at least not yet. But he seems like he has the potential to develop into a more traditional quarterback. On the other hand, there is NO offensive in the NFL more explosive than the Michael Vick powerhouse. And Vince Young is a smug douche. I want to punch him. Speaking of smug douches, Phillip Rivers is king. And Cutler on Rivers, haha: I like the part of the Bears game yesterday where Rivers threw two picks. Or the part where Johnny Knox slipped and missed a pass which was intercepted, and Cutler went and tackled Antoine Cason like the boss that he is. Anyway, I like to keep tabs on Phillip Rivers career...and see if he is going to throw more interceptions or have more children when all is said and one. He is a smug douche on the field too. |
Re: NFL 2011-2012
Here's the thing about Rivers ... he comes off as an arrogant prick. I actually appreciate his moral stances and beliefs, but he doesn't go about presenting those beliefs in a mature or humble way. Hence, he comes off as an arrogant prick. He also sure trash talks way more than any other QB I've ever watched, especially considering he doesn't curse. What exactly is he even saying?
I legitimately feel very sad for Cutler and Bears fans. I'm not a huge Jay Cutler fan, but I do think he received some unfair scrutiny at the end of last season, and he was just beginning to play at a very high level this season. Extremely unfortunate timing. :( |
Re: NFL 2011-2012
That's the difference between Tebow and Rivers.
Tebow = humble guy who wants to try his hardest to win games. Rivers = douche nozzle. Aside from the horrible media hype, you kind of want to see Tebow win. And by God, he is making it happen! With all these crazy 4th quarter finishes, it is inspired football. |
Re: NFL 2011-2012
Holy shit. Broncos waived Kyle Orton.
Chicago? Again? |
Re: NFL 2011-2012
I heard Marc Bulger was a possibility as well? I'm not sure who I would rather have between Orton and Bulger ... neither?
|
Re: NFL 2011-2012
WTF!!!! They ejected Pat Lee but none of the asshole Lions players got a call? Fuck the refs and fuck the Lions.
|
Re: NFL 2011-2012
Wow. Ndamukong Suh truly is the dirtiest player in the NFL (also an idiot).
|

Ripping players helmets off...driving people to the ground...stomping on people. He is a real sack of crap. I was hoping for a shut out, it would have been epic to go into Ford stadium and shut out the Lions. Let's hope the Packers can box this up. |
Re: NFL 2011-2012

Suh better be looking at a nice, long, multi-game suspension. Excellent job of trying to counter your negative image by throwing an opposing player's head to the ground twice and then proceeding to kick him in the chest on national TV during a family holiday. Idiot. |

That is seriously your pass at a legitimate explanation? Pathetic. |
Re: NFL 2011-2012

I mean look at Jim Schwartz. He was the Titan's defensive coordinator when they developed their dirty reputation. And look at Cortland Finnegan, the Titans DB. Schwartz coached that guy. Did anyone see the altercation between Finnegan and Andre Johnson? Fucking disgusting, AND WITH THE HELMET RIPPING OFF. here's the video: Schwartz's prodigy... I'm sure there are other incidents. There are. Schwart's reaction to the Harbaugh's pat on the back was way over the line. And the chippy game with the Bears was another example of Schwartz swearing at the refs, and advocating dirty play. After Stafford grabbed a player by the helemt, Schwartz's comments after the game were of indifference. I don't know if Suh's behavior are truly his own actions, or if Schwartz is encouraging him to hurt players. But ripping helmets off is more than just "playing past the whistle." That's a crock of shit. You don't go for someone's head unless you want to maliciously hurt them. Ripping helmets off, torquing someone into the ground by their head - these are all things that can result in career-ending injuries. These are all actions that can result in serious injuries like paralysis or coma. Suh is a sack of shit, and I hope he gets suspended for the rest of the regular season. The guy has ripped off a number of player's helmets in extracurricular play. That shit should come with a 40,000 fine, then a suspension, then expulsion from the league if it is blatant and intentional. And look, I'm not against hitting and physicality. I think some of the new rules really suck. I think the passers get way too much protection, and there have been numerous tackles this year that have resulted in fines when they looked like good clean hits to me. Football is physical, and I love the monster hits along with everyone else. But there is a difference between a clean monster hit, and ripping someone's helmet off or driving their head to the ground with clear intentions to hurt them. Suh's dismissive response is the same reaction you see from wife beaters, child abusers, and serial killers. It shows lack of understanding and empathy and borders on antisocial. Serious cognitive dissonance there. Again - I don't know how much of that comes down to Suh or if Suh is just doing what Schwartz has coached him to do. But Suh is still a sack of shit. Not only is his 'dirty player' reputation cemented, but I hope the guy gets fined and suspended til the end of the season. |
Re: NFL 2011-2012
I guess the irony in all this is that the Lions still suck. They are hugely overrated, and they play a number of good teams down this final stretch.
I still believe we could see them go 9-7, or even 8-8, which is a far cry from their Super Bowl dreams when they had that 5-0 stretch at the beginning of the season. The past few weeks have really STFU Lion's fans. The Lions play a heated Saints team, a rising Vikings team, the Raiders, the Chargers, and the Packers again. The Saints and Chargers won't be pushovers and can put up huge offensive points. The Vikings will bring the division rivalry. The Raiders may be a challenge as they are on the up and up. And I have to imagine after today's game, even if the Packers clinch a first-round-bye-home-field playoff berth, they will still play with passion reserved for giant cunts like Jim Schwartz. Teams with the type of frenetic energy the Lions have who can't stay composed never do well. Jim Schwartz is being paid big bucks to COMPOSE his team. That doesn't just include calling plays and managing the clock: that includes managing your players. I didn't see Schwartz talk with Suh after he was ejected; he said a few passing words, and yelled at the refs. The sad thing is that there is real talent on that team. Even Suh. If Schwartz redirected that energy towards positive, composed football, they could be a real good team. Edit: Bond, how is the local news coverage on the Packers? In Chicago on our Bears-biased TV news, they are even ripping into the Lions and Suh. Talking about how today was the "one day out of the year to root for the Packers." How is your media addressing the whole situation? |
Re: NFL 2011-2012
The local media outlets have actually just been reporting what happened and then providing commentary from national writers and announcers. No local commentary yet, but that might come later. Honestly, the media here doesn't like reporting on any negative event associated with the Packers, so it might not receive as much attention. Focus is more-so on being 11-0.
However, there was this gem from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: Quote:

:ohreilly:
I'm going to try Jehova up some Witnesses here. This Sunday is the 99th Grey Cup, in Vancouver. The BC Lions are in said Grey Cup. BC place holds roughly 60,000 people. I forsee it being a 50,000+ home field advantage. I advise you 'Muricans to watch this Grey Cup game, despite the fact your laughable brand of Football is also usually on on Sundays. |
Re: NFL 2011-2012
Unfortunately, it looks like the NFL Network is the only station carrying the Grey Cup in America, which means most of us (including me) won't be able to watch it. :(
|
Re: NFL 2011-2012
Tebow once again rallied the Broncos past the Chargers in overtime, 16-13. He is now 5-1 as a starter. I'm not going to defend his long-term prospect at being a successful NFL quarterback, but you have to give this guy some respect for proving everyone wrong thus far.

4-7 Eagles! Maybe this will get Andy Reid fired! And don't say, "you don't know what you got until it's gone." Look at McNabb. I just think it's a time for change. Some one has to win this town a Super Bowl.

Re: NFL 2011-2012
Favre should come play for the Bears! Think of the sacrilege!
I'm just kidding...but we should pick up McNabb in case Hanie continues to suck. Martz is going to be leaving next year according to sources, no one is surprised. Forte is injured...Cutler is injured. What is this cruel world? God hates Kyle Orton more than the Bears. Seriously, that was the best "hurt your finger in one play" ever. Roy Williams isn't fit for childbirth because he will most certainly drop his baby. Speaking of God, did anyone see Tim Tebow? Maybe I need to second-guess his skills. I still think his stout defense is where the "getting done" is getting done. The Lions cemented their dirty reputation last week. Apparently they didn't get the memo. How many penalties did they have against the Saints? It's cool though, Drew Brees is like the most upstanding quarterback in the NFL. Someone give that guy a medal for being down to earth and not being a pile of douches. Speaking of piles of douches: Joe Buck. Seriously, don't even waste effort on hating that boring guy. I'm pretty sure I want to see a Packers vs. Steelers Super Bowl this year. So go Green Bay! But if the Saints make it, I'm okay with that too. That has to be a legit concern considering how close the Giants got today. The 49ers are still flying under the radar in my book. Good thing I don't know anything about football. You know how I know Ryan Fitzpatrick is a genius? No, it's not because he went to Harvard. It's because he negotiated that huge multi-million dollar contract before the Bills decided to suck. And Chargers vs. the Jags on Monday night? The only reason I'll tune in is so that I can hopefully watch Rivers lose. Also, I'm very happy for you Canada. You have maple syrup and the CFL. Non-Canadians care about one of those things. |
Re: NFL 2011-2012
Tebow Train, anyone?
P.S. 13-0. :) |
Re: NFL 2011-2012
I was waiting for somebody to tell me to get off my soapbox after I went on a rant around Week 5 complaining about how the Bears are fucked and how we have the worst coaches in the world.
Mike Martz is still a fucking putz and Lovie Smith is Andy Reid retarded. I do not understand the play calls by Martz on offense or the decision to go into a lax cover 2 defense with the safeties 25 yards down field. EVERY FUCKING TIME the Bears have the lead Smith drops the safeties back 25 yards and lets plays go 10 yards down field easy. We had Tebow's ass covered all game until the final 4 minutes. As far as Marian Barber fumbling and not going out of bounds, whatever. The guy is a fucking idiot. He isn't our starting back; we drafted him to punch in touchdowns at the 10 yard line. Obviously the Bear's season was fucked when Cutler went out, double so with Forte out. But our coaching and front end office is still among the worst in the league (IMO). I feel sorry for Cutler, Forte, and Robbie Gould who is a CLUTCH kicker. As far as Tebow? The kid has passion, but he played like pig shit for 3 quarters. 6-1 or whatever seems like crazy talent and not just a series of flukes...but I'm pretty sure the Broncos will get raped when they play better teams. Here is to a Packers vs. Saints NFC Championship game, and a Packers vs. Steelers Super Bowl. |

I don't know how to feel about him, man. They showed some of his stats last night for the comeback wins that he has. I forget how many, and am too lazy to look it up. Anyways, crazy amount of comeback wins from the 3rd and late 4th. So either that kid has some crazy-ass poise-reserve that he digs into late in games, or they've somehow strung together like...8 coincidences and close calls. I guess it can be a statistical probability that eventually a rookie GB will rescue a bunch of games based solely on coincidence. But for the sake of the Broncos I'd like to believe that he's actually as good as the last 10 minutes of his game usually shows. I mean, I know he's not catching those balls, or intercepting passes, and he's only one part of the puzzle - but you don't get __ comeback wins by having strong defense. |
Re: NFL 2011-2012
Kyle Orton! Yeah.
And the Bears meltdown continues. If they don't fire Smith and Angelo I'll be annoyed and honestly not surprised. |
Re: NFL 2011-2012
It's cool, but we need to watch these accumulating injuries.
Lots of upsets this week. KG, isn't it hard to expect the Bears to win w/o Cutler and Forte? |
Re: NFL 2011-2012

The AFC West is terrible. There is no reason for the Bears to close that stretch 1-3. The Seahawks suck too. Our offensive line is shit. Total garbage. That tells you just how good Jay Cutler is, making our offensive line look competent. Our receiver core cannot run routes or catch passes. Mike Martz has been out coached the past few weeks against a weak ass AFC West, and don't even ask what Lovie is doing. Honestly...there is a lot of internal conflict and poor decision making at Chicago. Look at your team, the Packers. Half the guys on last year's Super Bowl team were drafted players. Young guys. Guys who were inserted into a carefully designed system run by a competent front office and an amazing coach, McCarthy. The Bears...have sunk a lot of money into guys like Roy Williams, Marion Barber, and Julius Peppers. I love Peppers, but he is prone to injury, old, and has a limited window to play. Roy Williams is known as "Droptimus Prime" you know. The compliment to Megatron. All the Bears had to do for a shot at the playoffs was to beat a few struggling AFC west teams, and a crappy Seahawks team...they should have picked up McNabb for beans. McNabb is mature and knows how to throw the ball away or stand in the pocket and take a sack. Hanie is young, developing, and an Interception throwing machine. You cannot win games by throwing 2 pick sixes. You cannot win a game if you lose the turnover battle and score on average 11 points. |
