Not as badly, but they still hooked or tripped them.

YESSSSSS

1st place in the northwest once again.

BAM.

Now the nucks just have to win the rest.

hot damn

Calgary has also secured a playoff spot for the first time isince the 95-96 season. score: 1-0

Edmonton also beat dallas 3-1

i'm getting excited.

Playoff pool at this forum? We have enough people to make it thuper fun.

Edit: I just noticed that Vancouver's last game is against Edmonton. That's brutal. Ed's only 2 points ahead of Nashville for last spot. That's a tough call. Hoping for the division title or all six cdn teams in the playoffs. It's been Colorado for 9 straight seasons....agh. Tough choice. Maybe we can lose to them in overtime or something.

Null always has his NHL Playoff game where you predict which teams will win in how many games and such. He does a good job of organizing it. He'll explain when the time comes.

Anyway, the Flyers are getting Desjardin and Primeau back for the last three games, that should help them in many ways. They better win the division or I'll be pretty angry. They won't go anywhere if they get the sixth seed and have to play the Devils without home-ice advantage.

I just thought that this might get a larff, if you havnt seen it yet.( it is about hockey...........in a way, look at the fans in the front row)

Re: Here comes the NHL Playoffs!

Well, it all comes down to tonight for the canucks. They win it and they claim the division title.

Nerve racking. Wish my boys luck.

Oh, and i've resigned myself to the fact that Edmonton won't make the playoffs so i don't mind the nucks beating them now.

Typhoid 04-03-2004 01:54 PM

Re: Here comes the NHL Playoffs!

What exactly makes them..."your" boys? shouldnt they be all of Vancouvers boys? and yes, it will be a good game, but even if they get a point they force Colorado to win tomorrow.....:)

Re: Here comes the NHL Playoffs!

OH YAAAA

Division champs finally.

Good luck to all of your guys' teams in the playoffs(unless they're playing the nucks)

wahooo

Re: Here comes the NHL Playoffs!

I hope the Flyers are division champs by tomorrow, but NJ controls their own destiny...We play at the exact same time though, so whatever, we have to win...

Yes, you can tell other people that I am praying for a Leafs vs. Habs first round playoff game.

And back to what business?

Leafs v. Habs can't happen...Everything has been decided. It is:

TB vs. NYI
Boston vs. Montreal
Philly v. NJ
Toronto v. Ottawa.

I'm especially looking forward to Philly and NJ and Toronto and Ottawa, but they should all be good series.

Joeiss 04-04-2004 04:47 PM

Re: Here comes the NHL Playoffs!

Oh, I wasn't aware they played this early.... Oh well, Leafs vs. Sens will be amazing too.

And I am happy that NJ and Philly are playing eachother... Because they always drain the Leafs out too much when we play them.

Seth 04-04-2004 07:49 PM

Re: Here comes the NHL Playoffs!

Why would you want any 2 Canadian teams to play each other in the FIRST ****ING ROUND?

I mean, I'd rather they play each other in the 2nd round right? I'm kind of pro 'cdn team winning the cup' and if they knock each other off the first round then well, that kind of lowers the odds.

Kind of pissy that the nucks have to play the flames first. Oh well, what can one do.

And I hope Ottawa beats the leafs. They're the financially stunted underdog and i feels sorry for them.

Though I'm a Philly fan, my other favorite team is Boston. They haven't had much success in a while till these past two years. They've always been a cool team in my mind.

bostons cool. i like all the origial 6 teams.

my second fav is chicago, it was fun watching the Detroit vs Chicago playoff games. sadly they cant even make it now :( i hope they can at least make the playoffs in future games. with them being the only other origial 6 team in the west. its hard to get detroit to play an origial 6 team anymore

Just north of Toronto... I can feel the intensity in the air... I'm off to find my Leafs Flag for my car....

Playoffs in Toronto has quite the atmosphere... Null, you should come down for a game when it is Wings vs. Toronto in the finals!

Toronto has the most expensive tickets in the league. I'm not sure if that takes into account the currency difference.

on average? regular season or playoffs?

going by last year, i coulda gone to see first game in toronto for 600, and cheapest here was over 1000. but it coulda been cuz the sell so fast here thats all thats left.

Team Avg. ticket Pct. change FCI Pct. change
New Jersey Devils $68.80 24.5 $363.33 17.3
Detroit Red Wings $57.11 0.7 $318.44 -3.6
Philadelphia Flyers $57.06 0.0 $318.27 2.4
Toronto Maple Leafs $56.90 0.0 $308.79 0.0
Boston Bruins $54.10 5.3 $304.39 3.7

2003 top ticket price averages according to... http://www.hockeytraderumors.com/article3678.html

thats regular season tho and honestly they're all about the same.

i dunno. from personal experience i always seem to be able to find cheaper prices over there for games then here.

Typhoid 04-06-2004 12:33 AM

Re: Here comes the NHL Playoffs!

Vancouver has pretty expensive tickets. I dont know how they do it in your buildings, but in GM place you pretty much get seeded. No couples (except season ticket holders) and My brother bought cheap seats...(the highest seat of the high, hes right below where the GM's sit) and he bought it for about $70, for one ticket...the cheap ones....usually those tickest are $40...And i assure you that the playoff atmosphere is much better in Van City. And if not i will be proud to say that the NHL did a study, and Vancouver is THE loudest crowd in the NHL.

Joeiss 04-06-2004 06:59 PM

Re: Here comes the NHL Playoffs!

The playoff atmosphere is probably better in the arena at GM Place, but definitely not the city.

Null 04-06-2004 07:09 PM

Re: Here comes the NHL Playoffs!

Everybody always says the atmosphere is better in their towns. at least the big hockey cities.

as for loudest crowd. prolly just the accustics in the arena are better. lol :p

The Germanator 04-06-2004 07:12 PM

Re: Here comes the NHL Playoffs!

For the loudest boos, come on down to Philly. I assure you if Esche lets in some bad goals early, you'll hear them. Or at least they'll be chanting for Burke or Nitymaki.

Typhoid 04-06-2004 07:34 PM

Re: Here comes the NHL Playoffs!

Naw, if you want the loudeat boos, just go to the arena (other than GM place) that Bertuzzi plays in... He even got Booed at the All-Star game.....i mean come on. And no i assure you, we are louder.......heh.....but i agree, Philly would be the loudest for Boos. But hte quietest i would have to say is Edmonton. I went to a game there once, and we few Canuck fans were louder that the home team...saaaad....

Joeiss 04-06-2004 09:24 PM

Re: Here comes the NHL Playoffs!

The only reason he got booed at the All Star game was because it was in Minesota...

And Null, the overall atmosphere in our cities are known to almost everybody. And everbody knows Toronto is the hockey Capital of the world, and apparently Detroit is "Hockeytown." By the way, do they still have that on the Centre Ice logo?

There might be others. Are all Null the overall atmosphere in our cities known to almost everybody? When is everbody knows Toronto not the hockey Capital of the world and apparently Detroit is Hockeytown?

As i said, everyone thinks thier own atmosphere is the best. at least in the major ones. Canadians make a more bit to do about it and try to brag about the atmosphere, while theres a few amercian cities that the atmosphere is 'just there' and they dont care to try and promote that atmosphere, it is what it is.
im not saying which is better. i am not saying detroit is better if thats what your implying, im just saying most canadian teams would argue that theirs is best, and theres a few american cities that could hold thier own in that argument. its hard to know what others are like when you dont live in them.

And yea. i do believe we have that logo at center ice. i cant say 100% sure because i get so used to that logo it doesnt stand out as much an i dont notice it.. But for that reason i do believe id notice if it was missing. at least i'd hop e so. lol

Wow.....so people from Toronto actually do think that they are the centre of the world.......so full of yourselves just because you have the hockey hall of fame...heh...and TSN, Sportsnet(probably started there, though theres one in every region. And im proud to say ours is the only..i think with Don Taylor) and the Leafs have their own radio station, T.V. channel...Don Cherry, and all this media to promote "the Centre of the world"....im kiddin, it just pisses me off though, no hard feelings.

This is terrible...Desjardins knocked himself out of the playoffs by playing catch with his son. Like we haven't had enough injuries already...I think Desjardins played like 3 games after his first injury, anyway, this is weak.

I will mention that to my botmaster, they'll be chanting for Burke or Nitymaki.

Playoffs start tonight! And I have like no homework too... I can't wait to watch Detroit vs. Nashville at 7pm!

And Typhoid, I had a tough time trying to get a point out of that paragraph you wrote... Can you say it again please?

Re: Here comes the NHL Playoffs!

dood. how great would it be if both detroit and toronto could make it to the finals.

Championship game between neighbors. omg it would be fun. media would be having little wars with each other across the border. Michgan side could put up redwing flags and canadian side could put up leafs ones. oohhhh man.

that is a dream finals right there. arguably the 2 most popular teams for each country. the classic red vs blue, plus it would be quite a rattings grabber for the NHL.

just been thinking about it cuz a couple news papers i've been reading have predicted a detroit toronto final. hehe
