I like how color and lighting dictates so much of the atmosphere. Good stuff

Yes..double wielding is so XTreme now that Halo2 and GTA:SA use it:p

(its a joke..ok. a simple joke)

Re: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas...INFO

Referring to Goldeneye/PD? That was definitely fun using double guns...

But this is new to the GTA series, and makes it alot better... Especially shooting stupid civilians at twice the old rate.

Re: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas...INFO

New info.

Quote:

News has been sent in (cited below post) that the following features were confirmed by the July issue of the German OPS2 magazine.

- If Carl eats too much and gains too much weight, he is denied certain missions. Mission givers tell him to get in shape before starting.
- The game has the same HUD (heads up display) as in GTA III and Vice City.
- The graphical quality will be much improved. Visability (draw distance) will be 1km and a new technique will be introduced - parking cars, trees and other objects will be displayed with very low details if far away.
- Movements will be smoother and more fluent than in Vice City; Rockstar is trying
to keep constant 30fps, but that didn't yet quite work out in the test version that OPS2 saw.
- There's an automated aiming-aid that simplifies control, and of course it can be it turned off if you choose.
- If you press a button the camera zooms right behind the player, so you can aim at enemies with the analogstick (Manhunt style).
- There's three times as much music in SA and remarkably more weapons than in VC, and plus gameplay (the story) is three times longer than Vice City.
- Apprently 80% of the work on SA is done, and it comes not on a 4.7GB DVD but a
8.5GB double layer DVD - which has just enough room for the game with help of good
compressing-techniques (that indicates the dimensions SA will have)!
- Some parts of missions will take place in the countryside outside of the three cities.
- Orange Grove is the name of one of the districts and that is where the Orange Grove Families name comes from.
- The textures will be photographed ones as well as self-drawn ones.
- There will be less pop-up of distant objects. Houses can be seen from far away.
- Groups of trees will be rendered as a group from distance. If you get closer, they'll be rendered separately. Because of this, a bigger draw distance is possible.
- The magazine claims that the animations will be even better than in Vice City.

Re: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas...INFO

I'm not surprised yet they haven't been able to lock the game at 30 fps. With the way they are making it sound, its gonna be one helluva difficult task to do it on the PS2

If you look at the guy on the bottom right, he has his leg up. But if you forget that he has his leg up, and cover the Rockstar logo with your hand, he looks very very happy and or excited...

Cool art. If we can gamble in this game, I will be very much impressed. Imagine playing dice with random gangstas on the side of a building? That would be amazing.

New image. Drive by. But they're aiming forward. Can they change gun direction?

And is that dirt on the car?

Whats with all the little square-ish looking things? Magazine scans im guessing.

Has it been released yet as to HD or multi-disk, or layering or what?

All i can say is nomatter what, i bet the load time will be a b**ch.

awesome looking, i am still hoping to get it the first day..woo go pre-ordering.

Jonbo298 07-14-2004 07:00 PM

Re: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas...INFO

I dont understand why magazine scans are that horrible. It's just a piece of paper. Unless they blew up the images really badly, then shame because although the screens look good, it doesnt suit well. I can understand if they look a little bad, but I cant stand mag scans that look like that.

Re: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas...INFO

New Information
-- While targetting an opponent, the camera will move to just above CJ's right shoulder, giving the player a better view of the action. Holding the target button longer will aim towards the opponent's head.
-- Draw distances are confirmed as being 2x higher than Vice City in the urban areas and 4x higher in the rural areas.
-- Streets are now much more full, with the feeling of 'emptiness' from Vice City now completely gone. There will be an endless stream of other cars for CJ to steal.
-- Two small towns in the rural areas have been named as Angel Pine and Dillamore
-- The legendary mountain has been named as Mount Chiliaid, and is over half a mile tall. Rivers, beaten tracks and cliff top roads criss cross what can be described as the largest object in any Grand Theft Auto game, ever.
-- A female character from a previous game will return, lodging in a forest cabin which CJ will come to use as a hideout.
-- One mission involves Carl and his unnamed female accomplice travelling to Dillamore gas station, attempting to rob the office, but being hampered by the bullet proof glass recently installed by the owner. Instead, Carl and friend steal the fuel tanker which is sitting outside. One twist - the fuel tank trailer isn't connected to the front, so Carl must connect the two. Once an escape has been made, players must take care not to jack-knife the vehicle on the treacherous rural roads, all the while being chased by the owners of the gas station in their cars.
Vehicles
-- Combine Harvesters will be included, and are likely able to be player controlled.
-- Mobile Hot Dog Vans will be present, but as yet no missions involving sales are confirmed.
-- The police helicopter will include a spotlight which can be shot out.
-- Updated versions of the Walton, Voodoo, Sabre, Sanchez, Patriot & Linerunner (with or without trailer) will be present.
-- A 4x4 vehicle (four wheel drive) will be incorporated in the rural areas, allowing players to traverse the bumpy terrain with ease.
-- For the ultimate driver, a monster truck will allow for the crossing of extremely difficult ridges, bumps and even shallow rivers.

Vinewood? I suppose this is GTAs version of Hollywood.

Finally, we get to see a police car.

Re: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas...INFO

Are they going as far into detail as Driv3r did? By putting individual bullet holes in the car when you shoot it, or is it the usual GTA thing?

Imagine if you get like hit with a bat or something and you actually swell up or get scars. That would be sweet.

Apperently the cops are determind in this game as well. They will hang onto the back of your car. Sorry about not being able to get any screens.

Would a cop really hang on to the back of someone's car? Really?

'Cause I don't think they would.

Sweet. Their's RV's. Rv's rule. Imagine a drive by in one of those.

I notice that in the fourth picture it appears looks like the plane is a crop duster. I wonder if their is any missions where you use a crop duster to dust crops, or dust rival gangs with poison. And if you there isn't any missions with it I wonder if you can still just crop dust for fun?

Typhoid 07-21-2004 04:16 PM

Re: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas...INFO

Crop dust for fun? Do you knit for fun as well?

The game looks awesome, i still must say, awesome to the max. If the max could ever get any awesomer than this game I will be surprised, this game steals the awesome from other games and uses that awesome for itself.

Woot, go tractor driving. I cant wait until ui can ride a BMX down the big mountain, dodging trees.

Is there wildlife in this game? IE. Deer and bears or whatever for the mountains, and animals on the farms?

Jonbo298 07-21-2004 05:01 PM

Re: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas...INFO

And driving a tractor at less then 10mph is just as fun:rolleyes::p

if driving the tractor is driving away from a bunch of hicks with pitchforks who thought you fooled around with their daughter...then you're damn right it's fun
