Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
I think Angrist and I are the only ones who seem to play this regularly.
Am I right? |
Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
From GT, probably. I got back into the game a few weeks ago, now I play it for around 30 minutes a day.
|
Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
I would play if I knew people were on, but as it stands my work schedule doesn't permit me to play until late at night, which is dead in the middle of the night for Angrist. Bluefire is busy with school. Magus fears me. Uber doesn't have his Wii. Dyne gets too much lag. Not sure the story with Dylflon. Typhoid has no router... and it is sad the number of people I speak to from these forums. :lolz:

Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
How late is "late" on the East Coast?

Too late for more than a game or two for me. But we could play from time to time.

Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition

|
Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
I may be interested in some games tonight...

Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
I wanted to bump for two reasons,
1) I feel like playing more often so if anyone is ever down for a game. 2) The mighty fish god fears me... Random note from Canadian, but he so owned all three of them while leaving me alone. 1) So who wants to play? |
Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
All must bow down before the fish lord!
|
Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
I could start playing again, but it will be hard to arrange a time. My PC doesn't have internet anymore (but I could hook up my Wii).

Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
Played this with some friends yesterday, and just wanted everyone's thoughts on this.
Least favorite character. -I mean my personal vendetta with Ike, never been a huge Jigglypuff supporter, and Combine is the first person I met who is actually pretty decent with her. Least favorite stage, -Now there are two main answers for this for similar reason. The 75m is a waste because I will admit, I pretty much camp in a safe position and make the stage take care of my enemies. And the Elecktroplanton stage (especially painful if you are zero suit or olimar as I believe they can't exactly grab onto the ledge of the levels) but the level is so cumbersom to play on and offers little benefit. -Least favorite final smash -Final smashes are fun as long as there isn't a single Star fox character involved in the match. |
Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
WE LIKE IKE! WE LIKE IKE!
My mains: Ike, Lucas, Wolf I don't know if I have a least favorite character.. I might have to go with ROB. I don't like using him. Least favorite stage: Electroplankton. New Pork City.. for its ridiculous size. Least favorite final smash: I have to agree with Earl, here. So, Earl.. When will Ike meet you again? :D |

So anytime this week... maybe. |
Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
Sorry, but Ike's final smash is so damn cheap.
There is literally no way to recover from it. Thus, the phrase *final* smash? Every time I get final smashed by Ike, I want to smash the living hell out of my Wii and TV. Comparing to other's like Lucario's. Which is so easy to dodge and escape from. Kirby's is pretty stupid too. |
Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
Least favorite character to use: Diddy. I can't do a thing with him. His moves are too weak, his specials too cumbersome.
Least favorite character to fight against: Lucas, Meta Knight or Ike. Depends on how good the player is of course. Meta Knight is in here because I once did 5 matches with an almost invincible one. He shamed me so much, it was terrible. Could barely do a thing. Least favorite stages: Electroplankton and New Pork City. Oh and the DK stages. Most annoying final smash: Like most have said, the FS of the Star Fox characters. So powerful and hard to dodge. Most useless final smash: Jigglypuff's. I've never seen anyone get killed by that (unless it's some retarded CPU). After that, Mario's. I think you can recover from Ike's FS if you hit your shield right when you land on the ground. I think I managed once, but it's hard. By the way, if you don't have like 25% dmg already, it probably won't knock you out of the level. |

The Star Fox's final smash is strong because it stays on the stage forever, on some stages it is damn near avoidable (like Final Destination) and it shoots lasers while being able to fly off the stage so its almost impossible not to get killed unless you have some fun dodging skills. |
Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
I cannot believe the hate for Electroplankton - it's one of the best stages in the game!
Least favorite character? Link. Made worthless. Least favorite to face when opponent is a spamming n00b? Pikachu. Worst stage? 75m and New Pork City - draw Most annoying smash? In my control, Ice Climbers. Kills no one. Only Mario's is more useless. Most annoying to face is easily Landmaster. |

Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
Ike's final smash is not impossible to dodge, GM.
Also, I forgot to add Meta Knight.. if I'm using Ike against an expert Meta Knight user, I don't think I'd win. |
Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
Haha I don't know if anyone here knows this but Meta Knight is generally banned in "serious" tournament play of brawl.
Brawl is kind of the laughing stock of fighting games. Melee on the other hand took some serious technical skill to be good. I miss Melee. |

I'll drink to that. Brawl is a serious step backwards for what was a great fighting series. Hopefully Smash 4 will bring back the glory. |
Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
I don't know... I think I enjoy Brawl more than Melee.
I think its the online as crappy as it is... allows me a new set of oppns such as Geo. More characters (especially since I like using Lucario, Snake and ROB). And more stages. Would be nice if could play custom stages online. Oh and the music...t he collection of sweet music. What is everyone's favorite song? Favorite song to Brawl to? (Doesn't have to be same as favorite) Least favorite tune. Stage with best music? |
Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
Melee is easily better than Brawl. Just because it happened to be developed during a time when online play is simpler than ever does not make it better. Just like Mario Kart DS pales in comparison to MK64.
- If Metaknight is banned, Snake should be, too. - Best song, Bramble Blast or Calling to the Night. |
Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
In my experience it's impossible to go back to a previous SSB game. When I play SSBM, I get bored almost instantly. I don't like the higher speed and there aren't enough characters I am good with.
Favorite song, I have no idea. So many great ones, like some Zelda remixes. |

Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
The only character I really like in Melee is Link. And I used to play Roy a lot.
SSBB has so much more. The improved graphics really enhance the atmosphere for me. Better items, beter physics (incl. speed), more variation. I didn't use online as an argument, good huh? :) |
Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
Ugh, I hate brawl. They butchered everything that was great about Melee IMHO. Brawl is a party game, pure and simple. Which is great if you want to play a party game.
You might want to try Marth next time you play melee ang, much better then link and roy. |
Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
I like turning items off and then having one of the opponents fight as King Dedede. Then the only way for a Smash Ball to come out is for him to throw it.
In fact, my favorite battle period is Final Destination Bowser vs. Dedede no items. So much fun. |

Well with Geo out of the picture most of the summer, and GM being MIA haven't got to play this much so curious if anyone would be down for playing some today?
|
Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
Game is always too laggy online.
|
Re: Super Smash Bros Brawl; SuperFriend Code Edition
A few weeks ago I went online for the first time in half a year. Nobody was online. No friends, no random people. I waited 15 minutes for a game, but nothing... :( Maybe a Dutch/European thing?
