That part is scripted, dunno about killing poeple randomly though.

Youre given a choice to kill either X or Dwayne

I killed Dwayne. Hahaha went in his house with the combat shot gun up and ready and pumped his face full of lead :P

The apartment is easy access to roof-hopping abilities, and is the only save point in that location.
Plus, Dwayne is a comical friend to have.
He's so needy.

Count me out. Funnier to shoot his face to kingdom come.

God, I had the biggest loss of interest in this game. I got about 16 hours in and I completely dropped it... I guess I did all I wanted to do and am done with it. I'm a fan of the shorter games.. 6-8 hours is the perfect length for me when it comes to a game now.

Oh well, maybe I'll pop it into the PS3 sometime again and play a little more.

I like very long games, as long as they have the story and varied gameplay to keep my interest. GTA 4 just didnt do that.

Re: GTA IV: It's Magically Delicious

Yep, all I ever felt I was doing in GTA was one of two things: chase "X" guy, or go here and kill "Y" guy. No variation at all.

Look at it from the standpoint of "You're a person, and get hired to do bad things from time to time."

Now, let's run down a list of what a hired killer/carjacker will do:

1: Kill
2: Transport goods and/or bodies
3: Steal cars
4: Rob people
5: Intimidate people

There is no "Alright, Go Kill this Russian mobster, and be sure to pet three puppies on the way" clause in real life.

Re: GTA IV: It's Magically Delicious

I understand that, but why do I have to do these things repetitively for 25-35 hours? The game is so god damn long, I can't continue to do those things for any lengthy amount of time.

Though, I feel that my real issue with GTA is that I'm not encouraged to explore, there is constantly something you're being nagged to do, whether its go do a mission, go hang out with someone or whatever. The cell phone is always ringing, and if I ignore it then I'm punished for it because now that I didn't go play darts with Roman he doesn't like me as much anymore.

I enjoy and prefer Crackdown SO much more than GTA because you can go kill a boss, or you can jump around the city looking for orbs, climbing buildings and jumping down, etc. Crackdown makes you explore, I get the feeling from GTA that I always have to continue doing missions and drive from one place to another.

I believe you can turn your cell phone off and it halts all story progression/nagging until you feel like progressing/being nagged again...

I need to look into that, if that's the case then I'm all for that. Thanks for letting me know.

I keep telling you there are reasons to make you explore. With the stunt jumps and pigeons and whatnot. I really think the difference between Crackdown and GTA for you is that you aren't confined to normal exploring, because you get all the kick ass powers like jumping really high and picking up cars. In GTA you're just a regular guy, and can't go rooftop to rooftop with such ease.

Anyone having technical issues with the game? I've read a lot about them, but I have not had a single lock up or issue.

Nope. Not a single thing.

I did experience my first ounce of lag the other day though.
But in my PS3's defence, I had 6 stars, 18 cops chasing me, and 5 cars were exploding in the distance due to rampant grenade-out-the-window throwing.

But other than that split-second of choppyness, I haven't had anything wrong with it. No glitches, no screw-ups, nothing.

Re: GTA IV: It's Magically Delicious

Not any tech problems, had a bit of an odd thing occur though. Went drinking with Brucie and i walked out of the bar ahead of him and i gues he kept falling down or something and then he died.

EDIT: SPOILERS*

Remember that guy who Vlad says is stealing from your brother and you can let him live or die? IF you let him live he comes back as one of those strangers you can meet on the street and do a small job for.

Cam, all the options for live or die have had that so far - for me.
I let someone else live, and they were on a corner and I did a little side-mission for them.

Dyne 05-13-2008 04:31 PM

Re: GTA IV: It's Magically Delicious

Ohh, that's what those side-missions are. That makes sense.

Also - silky smooth performance for me, too.

Only problem I have encountered so far was the lack of being able to get into multiplayer games. I figured out what my problem was, Dylflons connection.

Probably not. I just met Playbox X's friend, I think his name is Damian. That's about as far as I am.
