We also got screwed on the kick return.

And all these god damn injures...

I hope the referees don't sleep for 40 days and 40 nights... horrible calls indeed.

Anyway, I'm going to root for the Jets now. Since I have liked Chad Pennington since he was in college.

cubeman420 01-05-2003 01:04 PM

They may have gotten screwed on a few play calls here and there, but that does not take away from the fact that they got totally dominated by the Falcons for 4 quarters.

Professor S 01-05-2003 02:04 PM

The Falcons may of dominated the Packers, but the Packers just looked hurt and the Falcons didn't exactly light up the Wisconsin sky wiith stellar offense. Vick threw for about 120 yards I think, and ran for 60 or so. Yeah... that stinks... bring on the Eagles after a bye with the second ranked PPG allowed defense. This should be a fun game for me to watch :D

We just had too many injures this year. I guarantee you if we didn't have half as many as injures as we did things would have been a lot different. Again, we were the most beat-up playoff team, and even tied for the best record in the NFL.

I hope your Eagles beat the Falcons though Strangler. :)

Jason1 01-05-2003 04:54 PM

WOOOO!!! Pittsburgh is the ****!!!!111111

Buy seirously, you guys dont know how good that felt. All the teams I like get into the playoffs, and lose. Baseball, Football, whatever, it always happens. Its harder to stomach every time. This gives me hope that just maybe...finally the team I like will go all the way.

01-05-2003 10:14 PM

WOW! How FREAKIN cool were those games today?

Two great games, two great comebacks, over 130 points, almost 1500 passing yards. I love great defense but after the snoozers we had yesterday (sorry bond/stu) we needed this today. Great football I can't wait until next weekend.

Exactly man...

I have been living here my whole life and that was the best f#$%ing game I have ever seen the Steelers play. I almost cried when FU got that last score... bring on the Titans man, after that game I think we definitely have a chance to go all the way.

Trowser 01-06-2003 04:56 PM

AWWW MAN THE GIANTS ****IN LOSS!HOW THE **** THEY LET THEM COME BACK?

I saw the whole thing.Went from happy to super crazy mad.The defense was terrible in the 2nd half.I knew a NY vs. NY Super Bowl was too good to be true. Now wait til next year

DAMN!

GO EAGLES!

Perfect Stu 01-06-2003 05:08 PM

I'm now cheering for Tampa Bay (a friend of mine is a die hard fan)

Go Bucs! :D

Trowser 01-06-2003 05:13 PM

Trowser's picks are

49ers beat Bucs
Eagles beat Falcons(Vck vs. McNabb,i cant wait!)
Jets beat Raiders
Titans beat Steelers

then...

Eagles beat 49ers
Jets beat Titans

then...

Super Bowl 37:Eagles,28 Jets,24

Professor S 01-07-2003 08:52 AM

Not a bad prognostication there Trowser, but I see the Raiders making it now that their healthy again in the secoindary. Pennington is accurate, but he doesn't have much zip on the ball which may prove to be a problem. I do think it will be a great game but I think the Raiders will squeak out a win and then head to the SB... where they will lose to the Eagles :D

mickydaniels 01-07-2003 12:03 PM

Well, what we should do is look for all the hamoe teams to win.
Not because of home field, but because they are significantly better teams except in the case of Oakland not being that much better than NY.

01-07-2003 11:13 PM

LOL, listen to you guys with your damn jets. Oakland is going to ROLL the jets this weekend. The jets are overrated. The beat the piss out of the colts, hell miami or new england could have done that.

Professor S 01-08-2003 08:45 AM

Don'y blame Ny sports fans, they don't mean to be obnoxious, they're just bred that way. I'm an Eagles fan (duh) and after the Giants lost in the first round their fans kept on calling in to Philly stations saying it was ok because they beat the Eagles.

1) The Eagles beat the Giants earlier in the year, when it actually mattered to the Eagles.
2) The Giants were playing for their playoff lives while the Eagles were onlly playing for homefield and were guaranteed a bye.
3) The Giants lost of a fluke at the end, which is fitting because they beat the Eagles on a fluke the week before... KARMA, BABY.

[NY flaming]And for those Giant fans who say that its ok that the Giants lost because now they can root for the Jets, you have no heart. You don't see Eagles fans rooting for the Steelers if the Eagles aren't doing well, do you? No.

NY fans are much like theiur precious TE Jeremy Shockey. You may be talented but you have no class. [/NY flaming]

This should be fun...

Right on!

cubeman420 01-11-2003 01:16 AM

I think we will see a few upsets again this week especially Atlanta over Philly. I also like Pittsburgh, San Fran, and Oakland, although the Jets definitely have a chance if they don't turn the ball over.

ZebraRampage 01-11-2003 10:12 AM

Well I think that the winners of this week will be the Eagles, Bucs, Titans, and I'm not sure about the last game, but I sort of think the Raiders are gonna win.

Perfect Stu 01-11-2003 10:42 AM

it looks like the Jets vs. Raiders will be the most exciting game of the week

:D can't wait

LOL!!! The Eagles outclass the Falcons in nearly every position. If the Eagles lose to the Falcons, I'll put "Eagles Suck!" in my sig until next season.

cubeman420 01-11-2003 02:21 PM

I will be looking forward to seeing that if it happens. I know the eagles are definitely a better team, but if you look at the way the playoffs have gone over the past few years the better teams always seem to find a way to lose IMO.

Professor S 01-11-2003 03:41 PM

I agree, but I think this applies more for teams like the Jets who are playing as complete teams. The Falcons have Vick... and Vick. They'll go man against Gaylord and Finneran (who the Eagles cut last year) as they are complete humps, and keep nine men in the box for most of the game. The Falcons offense just doesn't match up.

cubeman420 01-11-2003 04:23 PM

I look at the way the falcons front seven has played in big games this year and philly doesn't have a dominant RB, I think Mcnabb will be quite rusty and if ATL can force turnovers like they have been doing, they will keep it close enough that Vick will be the Difference in the end.

Shiz 01-11-2003 09:12 PM

and the titans wiiiiiiin

Jason1 01-11-2003 11:08 PM

*sighs*

Pittsburgh got screwed on that last play. First off, they should do it the same way they do in college, that sudden death crap is bull ****. Both teams should have a chance to get the ball. And that roughing the kicker was an accident. Obviously. It wasnt even that bad, you cant say that wasnt nothing more than acting on the part of the kicker...he wasnt hit hard, and he fell like he was...complete bull...I had my whole family on my mom's side over to the house, all steeler fans...that game was so good, it just sucks so much to get screwed by a referee.

Joeiss 01-11-2003 11:18 PM

How did they get screwed? If you make contact with the kicker, it is a penalty. SIMPLE.

And I was going for the Steelers too, oh well... There is always next year I guess.

The f***ing kicker took like two steps forward after making the kick and washington barely made contact after that. He missed the kick and the refs took it upon themselves to give him another chance plain and simple. Not that I'm bitter or anything, because we probably shouldn't have beaten Cleveland. The same thing happened in the Philly game when they called that roughing the punter when it should've only been running into the punter and that changed the whole game. I will say that Philly deserved to win however and imo Tennessee didn't.

Perfect Stu 01-12-2003 10:28 AM

Did the player bump into the kicker? yes.

Result? (no matter what the situation, score of the game, OT or not) 5 yard penalty.

It's tough to see a game end like that...but the refs did their job.

Jason1 01-12-2003 10:36 AM

Its called ''Roughing the Kicker'' not ''Barley touching the kicker and having him fall down like an ass hole''

and also, Deion Sanders is a ****face.

Perfect Stu 01-12-2003 11:37 AM

it doesn't matter what it's called...the 15 yard penalty is roughing the kicker....the 5 yard penalty is called running into the kicker...and the rule is that if you hit the kicker, there's a penalty. live with it...your team lost

ZebraRampage 01-12-2003 11:45 AM

I wasn't too happy with the Eagles offense against the Falcons. They should have at least scored another Touchdown, but they won and that is all that matters.

Exactly...I know you Pittsburgh fans are pissed, but if somebody ran into your kicker like that, you know you'd want the call. It's only escalated because of the situation. If that happened in the 8th week in the season in the 1st quarter or something, you wouldn't give it a second thought...a penalty is a penalty.

And then there is the Eagles...we were good enough to win, though the offense was a bit sluggish through a couple quarters. Our defense stepped it up, we bent but did not break and that holding penalty when Vick scored was HUGE. The roughing the punter was pretty huge also. Fairly ugly game, but it doesn't matter how you win them in the playoffs.

ZebraRampage 01-12-2003 03:38 PM

Man did you see Brian Dawkins's hit on Mike Vick. BOOM! That was awesome!

The Germanator 01-12-2003 05:08 PM

Yeah, and it made it all the better knowing that it wasn't a TD. :D
And did you see Staley's block on Thrash's TD?

Jason1 01-12-2003 08:16 PM

I guess you have a good point germanator...I just hate the way **** happens...I mean it was a miracle that he missed that field goal...I about creamed my pants with joy...as did eveyone else in my family...then that penalty...it just sucked so much...

Jonbo298 01-12-2003 08:38 PM

Da Raiders......will kick........the Titan's.....ass......next....weeeeeeeeeek!:D:D

Perfect Stu 01-15-2003 05:50 PM

Brian Dawkins is one of my favourite players in the league....he has been since last year

Manning, Urlacher, Harrison, James, Freeney, Dawkins, Bledsoe, Shockey :beat:

but I'm cheering for the Bucs...a close family friend is a die hard fan

ZebraRampage 01-15-2003 05:58 PM

I think that if the Eagles blitz Brad Johnson enough then the Eagles should have a really good chance. I love when they send Dawkins and Bishop on the Blitz cause most of the time it works, and Dawkins usually gets a big hit.
