The M4A1 Carbine is a shortnered version of the M16. Has a collapsable stock, and also has full auto. It's generally used where in CQB (Close-quarters battle) because you want something smaller.

US Special Forces use it mainly. The Marine Corps has looked at making it standard issue, but they turned it down in favor of the M16A4.

You should at least know what it is from SOCOM.

Ah... it's all in just fun and games. That is what the Military is all about. All depends on what service you join. Like for example, if you are in the Army... it's known that you are lazy. Marine... you are dumb. Air Force... you are babyed. Navy... well, they are just smart Marines. :D

gekko... maybe you have heard of our "Old Guard". You know... the 3rd US Infantry Regiment. You know the ones, they are stationed in the Washington, D.C. One of the speciality platoons does a lot of D&C for show. Here is what they do:

"The Drill Team performs a variety of intricate maneuvers that have extremely high risk factors. One such maneuver is dubbed the daring front-to-rear overhead rifle toss. During the routine, four members of the drill team alternately toss their spinning, 10-pound rifles from the front rank to the back, often as high as 15 feet into the air and 15 feet to the rear. Then four soldiers in the back rank catch the revolving weapons with one hand in a true demonstration of courage and concentration. In most cases, revolution of the rifle ends as the bayonet arcs just past the soldier’s right ear.

Drill Team timing must be letter perfect, as all routines are performed without vocal cadence or musical cues. Only the team’s superb discipline enables its members to continuously challenge fate, and win."

:D

An M4 Carbine... it's pretty much a smaller and lighter M16. Here is what we are using:

Shadow Fox, yeah I know we could go all day. Cadence, jeez the Military will do anything to keep you from talking. They will even come up with songs while you march and run so you don't waste time talking about things you want too. They control everything don't they.

Xantar... that was classic. I got a good laugh out of that. No really I did.

Oh ya... The M4A1SD... excellent weapon of choice.

Happydude 01-02-2003 11:09 PM

I thought that the Canadian Snipers are some of the best in the world....as some american snipers would not go out unless a canadian sniper(s) went with them...during some fairly recent conflicts.

:D

Angrist 01-03-2003 06:26 AM

Hm I like snipers.... 1 shot 1 kill. :D

Wait... snipers kill ppl... I hate snipers!

Well Shadow, it looks like your Damning worked, I'm in Hell.

And I'm sure you know why the Marines aren't that well funded. But I don't think the rest of the forums are, so let me just give you a little heads up.

Air Force gets the most "money" out of the government. Why because they have the most expensive equipment and they need to be kept up-to-date with the newest technology in aircrafts.

I think then comes the Navy. Or the Army... I don't remember who get's the most funding out of these two. But that doesn't really matter. What matters are why the Marines gets the least out of all of them.

It's because the Marines fall under the Navy (in everything. ) So what the Navy doesn't use in their funds, they give it to the Marines. But it's pretty expensive up keeping the Aircraft carriers (go figure huh). So Marines are usually stuck with hand-me-downs.

Admit it... you Marines are nothing but a bunch of sailors! The Navy needed some Infantry, so they made a Marine. :D

You know what just happened... the stupid tankers had our M4 taken away from the Infantry. How in the hell did that happen? I mean, they are in a tank. They don't need cool weapons. They drive one. So now we are stuck with the M16A4. Those Sons of a .... nevermind. I guess that is what happens when Infantry gets sent to an Amored Brigade. Do you see what I mean by you sending me to Hell Shadow.

gekko 01-05-2003 01:24 AM

Poor Cam, get your toys taken away? Don't worry, tomorrow you will get your OICWs in, and you can have some fun. The Marines will join you in 2023, when their shipments arrive.

Just remember which branch has the sweet new cammies
