Re: I saw the matrix-spoilers
I saw it and I loved it.
I was expecting a dissapointment but didn't get one. Cool ending too... I think. :D |

Do you seriously think that you are the only person on the planet that compared religion to the Matrix? I mean, come on, that is truly pathetic. Run a search through Yahoo! and you find tons of sites about Matrix Philosophy and Matrix Religions. |
Re: I saw the matrix-spoilers
Ok here are some more thoughts.
They used a lot of crap to 'fill' the movie. The train guy had nothing to do with the story. The Merovigian or whatever he's called was boring (although his wife is pretty ;)). Same with the keymaker in Reloaded. I liked the ending.... NO it's not like when they started in The Matrix and NO Neo couldn't have just picked the other door. The most important thing in the 6th matrix is Agent Smith, not Neo. Neo was just 'part of the system, another form of control'. If Smith wouldn't have been there like a virus, Neo couldn't have made the deal with the machines. Then Zion would have been destroyed without any free people left. I thought that the Oracle or the Architect had given the little girl (name again?) the job to let the sun rise. Like the Oracle says in Reloaded, they have a program to let the sun rise. Smith probably took over a lot of those programs and thus was able to control the rain and stuff. The last fight scene was SOOOOO Dragon Ball Z! It could have been Goku - Freeza or something... It's probably a tribute to DBZ. And with 'peace', I don't see humans work together with machines... More like "Ok we won't kill you, but WE still rule the earth!" About the acting: Neo wasn't supposed to be very emotional! He was perfect, he was just the shy guy that had received the role of 'the One' kinda unwillingly. I agree that I didn't feel THAT bad for Trin... they coulda made it more dramatic. But it's better this way, she knew Neo wasn't coming back anyway. Hugo Weaving was a bit TOO over the top at times... like when he just took over the Oracle... :p All in all we're just ano... I mean all in all it's a good movie, the end of a good trilogy. :D *looks forward to november 20 (TTT EE DVD) |

And considering how Agent Smith is comparable to the Anti-Christ, I wouldn't say he was ever "over the top". He was one step away from complete control over every body in the Matrix... and nothing was in his way, the Oracle was just sitting there. |

The Keymaker was also relevant because he's programmed to make keys for all the doors. Some doors can't be opened without keys no matter how strong or powerful you are. Quote:

Oracle: Are you going to let the ones free that want to be free? Man: Of course I am going to let them. What do you think I am, human? What you're suggesting is a choice that could only be made by a human (or a corrupt file I suppose). But machines don't betray or break promises like that. |
Re: I saw the matrix-spoilers
Do you guys realize that a part of Neo is still inside the matrix at all times? I dunno, I thought more people would catch this. Neo can see anything outside the matrix that is still connected to or controled by the matrix in some way.
That's why he could see the "orange code" outside the matrix after being blinded, and that is why he could manipulate things outside of the matrix. If you didn't understand what I just said, think of it like this: Neo's mind is both in the real world and in the matrix at the same time, the matrix may have some sort of simulation program that tells the agents where all of the machines are on the outside. Neo can see this simulation program in the real world, and by using his powers from within the matrix and destroying somthing in the simulation he is destroying somthing in the real world. proof that what he can see isn't 100% accturate and could be in a simulation is the part where he is in a ship with trinity and a machine flew into his body. It's stupid because the Oracle half way explains this in the game, and half way in the movie. I hope this helps you out Crash. The part in the train station is important, but it doesn't make any sense. Neo hacked his mind in to the wrong place... I must say that Revolutions is definently a movie for the hardcore matrix fan. People who took the time to watch the animatrix, beat the game and have a complete grip on reloaded's story (in a litteral sense not with metaphors) couldn't have been dissapointed. But I can easilly imagine someone who didn't get the full understanding of the war (with Animatrix) and someone who didn't get that one-on-one time with Niobe and Ghost not liking the movie. I mean, The chase scene where Niobe was piloting the ship was very special to me, and seeing Ghost on the guns taking out so much so fast was cool too. People who played the game already knew what happend to Neo, and where the Logos was and how it got there. The Animatrix just reveals that the humans are the bad guys in this situation, and it explains what happend to the sky. Seeing them get over the clouds was a special part to me too. But I feel that the Wachowskis kind of forced us to get into a lot more than the acctual movies to understand the story, and even after all of that you have to think way too hard to get a grip on what happend. That is why I feel that the majority of people who aren't hardcore matrix won't be attracted by the story. My opinion is that this is one of the all time great stories, and one of the all time best films, but like all trillogies, you have to have a grasp on everything to love it. Matrix made me think, and showed me somthing more amazing than any movie I have ever seen. It won't be everybody's favorite, but it's mine. |
Re: I saw the matrix-spoilers
*decides to see the Animatrix and play the game*
Ok the trainman is more important than I thought. It gives a new dimension to the tale, but it lacks the 'wow'-factor that we got in TM and TM Reloaded. So if programs can go outside the matrix, what form would they take? A machine? Probably, as Agent Smith also stated that he wanted to get out of the Matrix. Why do you think Smith was destroyed? I've heard a few theories:
Hehe, the more I think about it, the more I like it. ^^ |

That would explain why it had to be Neo that would stop him, but it still doesn't quite make sense why he had to fight. He could have just given in and then killed him. Perhaps he had to show persistance in order to maintain some control of himself in order to delete Smith, or else he would have been permanently controled and Smith would have won. Also, in Mythology, who is the guy who leads people to hell? I think that person is equivalent to the Trainman. The Merovingian may be equivalent to Satan, and thats why he controls the trainman. |

Re: I saw the matrix-spoilers
By Neo just giving in to Smith Smith could have predicted that this whole fight was a trick. Oracle let Smith see what she wanted him to see to lure him into fighting Neo.
It would be nice if the game (Matrix Online) answers some questions like Enter the Matrix did. |

Re: I saw the matrix-spoilers
Anyone ever notice that NOTHING EVER HAPPENS IN ANY OF THE FIGHTS!!!!!!!!
No one ever "wins" a battle. There's 90 billion sentinals, how many did the Zionists kill? Was there ever a chance of them killing all of them? And in reloaded, did any of the Agent Smiths die? they just keep coming, why did Neo even have to fight them at all if he was just going to fly away? When I actually sit and watch the movies, I love them, because actually being infront of the screen I can turn my brain off, but when I sit back and think about them, they all go to hell. I've got to say, the part were Neo punches Smith at the very end, and you see the imprint of his fist on his face, that might be the coolest special effect I've ever seen. |

Oh, well, I agree that it's completly over the top and corny (to the point where it's almost as if the movie is parodying itself) I still was impressed by the effect.

Re: I saw the matrix-spoilers
Yeah I was like:
I hated it when Neo didn't finish those Smiths off... They just kept coming back. :distress: The weren't gonna kill all the squiddies, they were gonna die. |
