I think that this arguing about "well, I bet if *insert player here* did it they wouldn't have suspended him for as long" is silly. Look, you don't know how long they would suspend Lemieux or Gretzky if they did the same thing, so there is no point in questioning it.

P.S: Flyers have lost two games in a row to the NY teams...damn it...

and from a while above there.... Moore did not try to injure anyone. that was a clean hit, he had no way of knowing Naslund would bend down right as he hit.

And no he shouldnt of not tried. that hockey, you dont just let someone go buy because he's better then you. you work hard. accidents happen. Burtuzzi didnt mean to injure anyone either.

Yeah, we're getting there, just three games left for the Fly guys who get four days off... That's good because of all of our injuries.

I really don't want to play the Devils in the first round though. That would not be cool. :(

Re: Here comes the NHL Playoffs!

Yeah, their defence is crazay.

Re: Here comes the NHL Playoffs!

Yeah...the Devils are good, but most of there players are going to retire soo, so they need to make trades for younger players and goalies.

They do have Gomez and Elias at the top of my head... But they have had an awesome last 6 or 7 seasons... All teams have to rebuild sometime.

Re: Here comes the NHL Playoffs!

it depends on how they rebuild. Its very possible to incert new talent as some old leaves. as long as you keep the process going an not all the older guys leave at once.

Re: Here comes the NHL Playoffs!

I think they should trade Brodeur and Neidermeyer away for younger talent. But it wont make a difference for next year, because with the CBA coming up theres not going to be hockey. Unless all the good players "defect" to the WHL...(or WHA, i cant remember which one is starting back up...)

Re: Here comes the NHL Playoffs!

They won't trade brodeur. No chance in hell.

Im not saying they will, just that they should. This could be his last year, with no season next year and all. im just sayin they should have done something for a goalie.

That shouldn't have any weight. If that's the case, then since Naslund was the leading scorer Moore should have hella let up on that hit. He didn't though, he leaned into it. Bertuzzi pulled some dumb **** out there. I'm incredibly biased with this topic but I can't stand how just as vicious attacks around the league are ignored in comparison just because the extent of the damage is less.

Hey, Jason King scored again. I wish the guy kept his early season pace. He was the leading goal scorer for a while and then went dry. He might be a playoff guy. *hopes*

If Moore's job is to be the tough guy and check hard then he should live up to it and be willing to take the recourse for his hit(s). Realistically the NHL is a league that has laws. There is always a reaction to an action. It's sad that Moore had his neck broke unintentionally but he should have had the guts to atleast standup for his hit and duke it with someone who would have provided a fair fight. Anyone of the Canucks players who were willing to fight him would have got the instigator anyway.

edit: ack oilers lose to st louis

oilers have 3 games left and the blues have 4.

I hope they make the playoffs. First time in how long that all 6 have made it. Ever happened before?
