Re: If you could make a difference....

Hip-Hop is not music man. It's a culture. There will always be good and bad music in each genre, but sadly, the bad is always focused on in Rap. Booty sells. Bass Sells. Chorus' Sells. The Gangsta Image Sells. Generally. That's why the indepenedent labels are better IMO. At least half of the people on the list I put up denied contracts with Major Labels like Interscope,(The Evil) Sony, Def Jam, Aftermath, Shady Records, Deathrow, and Murda Inc. because they wanted them to change their style. Hell, Last Emperor got dropped from Dre's label because he didnt go with teh Aftermath image! Oh, and I think the underground is doing very well now, it's just that the surface music isn't very subsistent. And Typh, there are plenty of Political Rappers out now and you seem open minded enough so check out the people on my list. You'll be a better person for it ;)

Oh and Crono, you'll get nowhere if you're like that. Put your hands over your ears and go Lalalalalala.

hip-hop ( P ) Pronunciation Key (hphp) or hip hop
n.

1. A popular urban youth culture, closely associated with rap music and with the style and fashions of African-American inner-city residents.
2. Rap music.

It seems we are both correct. This was from "dictionary.com"

I'll get nowhere in life because I hate rap? That's news to me.

Never said life. I meant in conversations and/or debates. I don't care if you hate rap, I just want you to at least know what you are hating. You can dislike it as much as you want but at least be mature enough to realize that just because you don't like it, doesnt mean that it sucks. True it's your opinion, but it is nowhere near fact. I think this has gone on for far too long though. I'm done discussing music with most of ya'll because you can't seem to be as open minded as me (except for Germ, GM, Drop, Kitty, etc.)

This has to be one of the funniest debates in GameTavern history. Maybe we should start keeping track of them... or not.

Culture is of huge importance to society's problems. And I agree with Bond, interesting debate.

Hip Hop is prosecution evidence
The out of court settlement
Ad space for liquor
Sick without benefits (hungh!)
Luxury tenements choking the skyline
It's low life getting tree-top high
Here there's a back water remedy
Bitter intent to memory
A class E felony
Facing the death penalty (hungh!)
Stimulant and sedative, original repetitive
Violently competitive, a school unaccredited
The break beats you get broken with
on time and inappropriate
Hip Hop went from selling crack to smoking it
Medicine for loneliness
Remind me of Thelonius and Dizzy
Propers to B-Boys getting busy
The war-time snap shot
The working man's jack-pot
A two dollar snack box
Sold beneath the crack spot
Olympic sponsor of the black glock
Gold medallist in the back shot
From the sovereign state of the have-nots
Where farmers have trouble with cash crops (woooo)
It's all city like phase two
Hip Hop will simply amaze you
Craze you, pay you
Do whatever you say do
But black, it can't save you
