There should be an asterisk next to their season, and at the bottom it should say, "was caught cheating the first game of the season." It wont happen, but thats what should happen.

What makes matters worse is how they did it...did anyone read what Tedy Bruschi said a while back...a team was trying to score late in the 4th quarter, calling timeouts to get the ball back and whatnot (they were already out of the game) and Bruschi said something like "why won't they just lose with class? they got killed, why are they trying to score touchdowns?"

Sour grapes much? It's okay, there will be a next year. Plus, why don't you all ignore the fact that this was pretty common practice for years, that it was the first game of the season they got caught, and Tom Brady et al actually earned it.

I really really did not expect the Giants to win. That was a sloppy game by both teams. McQuarter's two fumbles were both really bad. The Giants kept giving Green Bay freebies, and Green Bay kept screwing them up. Tynes also screwed up twice on two relatively easy kicks. The guy is lucky he hit that 47-yarder.

I'm really surprised that Green Bay was not more committed to the run. I guess it's hard to trust the run when your defense is playing like crap bust still....

Favre threw a couple of REALLY bad passes. One of the interceptions he threw was just a soft pass. I dunno, it didn't seem like the energy was there.

The bottom line is I don't know what to think anymore. I thought the Giants were out in the Wild Card. I kind of expected the Cowboys to beat them. And I definitely expected the Packers to beat them. If anyone watched the last game the Giants played against New England...it was pretty close.

I'm sure the Patriots are slightly worried that the Giants will kill their perfect season.

KG, I assume you know the temperature was -3 degrees Fahrenheit, with a wind chill of about around -25 degrees. Don't you think that might account for and excuse just a little the sloppiness on both sides? Ever tried holding onto an icicle of a football? How about throwing it and catching it?

Just for shits at this point do you guys want to do a "closest point differential" for the superbowl?

Just so this thread doesn't die down 2 weeks early, and adds a little more excitement?

Yeah, it was cold...Green Bay is an experienced team in cold weather. So I kind of expected the Pack to come out and run it a lot more, especially considering how well their run game was against Seattle. Brett Favre was his own worst enemy yesterday.

You know, yeah... that game really hurt. I mean, this might not mean anything to anyone here, but I feel obliged to say something about it anyway. When you live in a place like this, Green Bay, where the entire city revolves around this team and the collective mood of the city depends upon how well the Packers do... it's really an amazing thing. You know, these players, are people you see everyday - at the grocery store, restaurants, the theater, and you really feel as though you're part of the team, and these are your people how there playing the game. It's really something magical, and before I moved here I never felt this way about a team before - it's always such a distant connection.

Could that be because there's nothing in Green Bay?

I mean, the town of Austin, MN loves their SPAM. I'm fairly positive it has nothing to be with them enjoying the fake meat, but rather it's the only thing they can be proud of.

Pick the spread, basically..."Pats/Giants by 7/8/9/10/11" and so on.

Closest wins.
Just for giggles.
