I sense a Spinto Band Fan meetup in Canada in light of this new turntable setup.

I thought my parents had one but they threw it out. Grah.

Don't you remember that Garfield cartoon episode where Jon wants to buy a record player? And he finds one, at an antique store, and garfield breaks it and needs to find another - except he can't, so he hides inside the record player and tries to act as music?

This cartoon is like 10 years old.

As of like 2 years ago, you could still find record players at Best Buy. Maybe you still can.

Unless you're lucky, no. They sometimes do something called demolish on site, which means they'll technically turn more profit for the day by putting old products in the crusher than they will selling it to someone.

Because they'd DIE if they lose a couple hundred on their earnings report. Oh pish!

I saw them do this with 50 strategy guides - with my own eyes. Sims 2, Halo 2, Age of Empires.. They all were thrown in. I asked if I could take them home, and they got extremely bitter and bureaucratic. Then I got this huge, stupid lecture on earnings and "what's good for the company" and all this crap.

Thank God my dad has one.

And thank god its set up and in total plain view on top of the TV stand...where its always been....

Not having a record player in relation to music, is like not having Nintendo, Phil.
