I can see... Durians, Tambis, Dukus, and Papayas.

Bet you girls haven't seen this:

It's called the Salmon Berry. It's a west coast North American fruit that shows up near creeks everywhere in May/June. I used to eat them on the way home from school all the time.

Farther in the continent, you can also find authentic, wild strawberries.

It's insane how much sweeter they are than their genetically-modified counterparts. If you go for a walk in a mountain trail, you may stumble upon a huge patch of them. They're low-lying, so you might not even notice them if you aren't paying attention.

Tambis? Eh?

I've seen fruits like that (the typical berry) but in different colours. I love that picture you took though, very nice :)

Yeesh, yeah Water Apple. Cut me a little slack. Or better yet, cut me some Carambola. *rimshot*

Besides, at the Asian markets around here, hardly anything is in English.

The real wild strawberries look better than that.

:wtf: Those things are........ terrible..... at least I don't like them. :(
A lot of seeds.

The juice is probably not bad, but watch out because it gives terrible stains. :)
Edit: Talking bout fruit: strawberry

Yan 11-22-2004 11:15 AM

Pomegranates

Used to have one of them trees in front of me house... (Why the hell am I talking like that? )

How to eat them? Scoop the flesh out, pop them into your mouth and spit the seeds out. Never been fond of them though... Taste funny...

DimHalo 11-22-2004 12:48 PM

Re: Pomegranates

yeah, you break them apart and suck on the seeds

I started eating them because of a story i read... I don't buy them very often. Maybe once every 3 years

Dyne 11-22-2004 03:50 PM

Re: guess the fruit ;)

I don't suppose you guys have tried Grenadine. It's the juice from Pomegranates that comes in large bottles. It's mainly used in Alcoholic drinks, but it goes great in Shirley Temples (Orange Juice and Sprite) and fruit slushees. Also, just in normal sprite it tastes great.

Also compliments ice cream nicely.

The tangerine is a rare grapefruit/orange hybrid. You've never heard of it.

i love tangerines

Dyne 11-22-2004 04:01 PM

Re: guess the fruit ;)

The tangerines I've had were only ok. They were basically either insanely sour or insanely sweet.

Mangos go great in fruit salad.

Yeah I read that. Grenadine sirup isn't too bad, but a bit too sweet for me.

Yeah. Speaking of which, they JUST started selling them before Halloween. I swear, they start selling them earlier and earlier each year.

I still think the ones that come in shipments near christmas are the best.

It's a drink that's usually associated with the holidays for most english cultures. You can buy it from the store, or you can make it yourself. It can either be really rank-tasting and be low in calories, or really great tasting and be loaded in calories. Most people really can't find the inbetween. In layman's, eggnog is beaten eggs, sugar, vanilla, whip cream, and milk. Some people like to add Brandy or Dark Rum. Serve chilled, add some fresh-ground nutmeg, and you have festive eggnog.

I have some in my fridge right now, actually.

Has anyone visited Hawaii? I'll always remember eating Pineapple from the Dole plantations, and picking wild Guava on my hikes. The guava has 4-5 times more Vitamin C than an orange.
