Jurassic Park 4

Some of you may have read this already, but those who haven't:

Apparently crew members have been raving about how good the movie is going to be! The script is currently undergoing some "tinkering" though! The script is being rewritten by John Sayles, but is based on an earlier draft by a man called William Monahan.

Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum will not appear, there will be a new character called Nick Harris.

Richard Attenbrough will have a cameo role.

Steven Spielberg has brought in a Paleontologist to help him on the story.

There will be marine reptiles in this one and giant feathered ones too.

SYNOPSIS

In the opening we see a Dinosaur attack on mainland US. Then we see that there have been isolated attacks in Mexico and Central America and the U.N has decided to send in a Task Force to eliminate the dinosaurs.
Nick Harris is the new hero. He is sort of a soldier of fortune. He is approached by Dr John Hammond to go back to Isla Nublar and breed new Dinosaurs at Jurassic Park. (Ones that can't reproduce.)
On arriving at Jurassic Park Nick is attacked by Excavaraptors (Like Trapdoor Spiders.) and security Guards working for a company called Grendel Corporation who have taken over security at JUrassic Park.
Nick finds a Shaving foam canister of DNA samples (The ones Nedry stole in the original movie.).
However the Grendel Corporation are after their own samples and capture Harris. He is taken to a castle in the Alps.
There he is introduced to Adrien Joyce a henchman of Baron Von Drax the C.E.O of Grendel Corporation.
He offers Nick a job of training the dinosaurs. They have secretly been breeding genetically modified Dinosaurs........

As long as it isn't as bad as JP3 (ugh), I'll give it a try.

JP2 and JP3 both sucked.

Re: Jurassic Park 4

I've heard this same rumor too, that this #4 movie is supposed to be a lot better than the last two, like kind of going back to it's roots in #1

I really hope that is true. I would love to see the Jurassic Park series restored to glory.

Canyarion 01-28-2005 02:46 AM

Re: Jurassic Park 4

Oh man, that sounds terrible! :(
How can this go back to its roots, if what Crash says is true????
"Soldier of fortune", "Excavaraptors", "castle", "genetically modified dinosaurs"....

:baby:

I liked JP1 and JP2. JP3 is what turned me off so much (just from ever watching the 3rd one again, god forbid).

I liked 2....... Although I've actually never seen 1 all the way through (seen most of it though), and havn't seen 3 at all...... :sneaky:

yes, 2 and 3 were absolutly horrible. 2 being by far the worst one of them all. i know people who got up and walked out when the dinosour started attacking the main land. thank god i never paid to see any. lol.

4 tho, honestly by reading that script might even be worse then 2. hard to believe, but seriously doubt 4 will be any good at all.

Re: Jurassic Park 4

How would you have kept the series with some twists then Null if you didn't go anywhere outside the island of those Dinosaurs? Claim more islands exist and for the next few movies, then investergate them?

nope. woulda done the smart thing and ended it after 1.

they made the same mistake many many movies make. try and make up an extended story to make more money just cuz the first movie did well. The best sequals are the ones where the story was planed that way from the beginning. not tacked on after they found out the first movie was good.

Jurassic Park was a great movie...

but anyone who thought the 2nd and 3rd were "good" either have low standards, or doesnt know good cinema if it bit them in the ass

I thought they were good. I haven't seen them in a while, so my perspective might be a bit off.

They should just Napalm the whole damn Dinosaur island.

i thought the 3rd one was "meh"...i still havent seen the second one...and the first one was really good...i guess im hoping for the 4th one, but im not expecting it to be any good.

Your opinion and my opinion are different. But hey, can't please everyone. I don't need to listen to critics to decide whats good or bad :p

Re: Jurassic Park 4

Read about this on Ain't It Cool News a few months ago. Blew my mind. My brain was literally thrown violently from it's skull into the next room only to land in a bowl of Dinosaur Egg Insant Oatmeal. The coincidences are creepy.

But no Jeff Goldblum? Tis a sad day for dinosaur cloning gone horribly wrong.

heh, i knew about this or at least strong rumors of this 2 years ago. comes as no surprise.

but wasnt jeff not in 3 either?

Teuthida 01-28-2005 07:59 PM

Re: Jurassic Park 4

Nope. Which is another reason why it was the worst one.

Now thats a bit harsh...I'll admit 3 was pretty horrible, but 2 wasnt bad. Wasnt good, but wasnt really bad either.

Anyways, ive known they were making a 4th for quite awhile now, and I honestly dont have very high hopes...

Also, I question the source of this information. Because IGN hasnt posted any of this, they still say that Sam Neil will be in it...

Re: Jurassic Park 4

Jurassic Park was alright...I mean, it was a cool movie idea, but only because it looked good back in the day. The sequals sucked, and I imagine 4 will do the same.

Crash 01-29-2005 02:08 AM

Re: Jurassic Park 4

those who say 2 wasn't bad, must have never read the book.

what they should have done, is just made the first book a two part movie.... they left out so much great stuff:

JP book spoilers:

Hammond dying, Wu Dying... Ian Dying, Baby T rex (the 8 foot tall one, not that gay crap from thet second movie) dinosaurs being blown up by grenade launchers, raptor nest, swimming t-rex.....the real costa rica story, the hotel part of jurassic park ... the first movie was good, but it could have been so much better.. and left 2, 3, 4 FREAKING ALONE!

Jurassic park=my fav book of all time, read it 7 times

I really like Jeff Goldblum, I never saw JP3 and I think that was the reason... needless to say, I am fairly apathetic towards the release of JP4

*Google searches*

Oh, you mean this Jeff Goldblum...

Yeah, he definitely added a lot to the first movie. Never saw any of the others.

Re: Jurassic Park 4

Jurassic Park 2 was ruined by Ian's annoying girlfriend and his annoying daughter. Aside from them, it was still cool. I kind of forget JP3, I'd have to watch it again. JP4 supposedly is going to be good though. Steven Spielberg is producing it and he states that he thinks it's the best story since the first one.

yeah, what's with ian having a black daughter... *shrugs*

lost world book was so much better!

KillerGremlin 01-30-2005 01:30 AM

Re: Jurassic Park 4

I read both of the books a while ago.

You can't translate a book like Jurassic Park into a movie and not expect to lose something. It's just not going to happen.

Re: Jurassic Park 4

Hehe I decided we needed to see JP1 again last weekend. We loved it. After 70 times, I still start to see more and more things.

Read the books 4 and 2 times. Loved them. Actually I bought another Michael Crichton book, 'Prey' from 2002. I wonder if it's good.

They better have a good JP4 story. And the one that this thread started with is terrible. Some stupid kid bullocks.

When you say that Steven Spielberg is producing this one, does that mean that he didn't produce JP2 and JP3?

I read Sphere.....that was kind of weird, but I don't know. Not as good as Jurassic Park.

Teuthida 01-30-2005 08:58 PM

The only Michael Crichton book I've read was Eaters of the Dead which got turned into the movie The Thirteenth Warrior. Good book, bad movie. Almost read Timeline too when I heard it was being made into a movie...but yeah....

Spielberg directed 1, and 2.
3 was directed by Joe Johnston

Ah all right. I didn't really understand why Spielberg wouldn't have directred two. Two wasn't that bad, plus it did originate after a book, but there were a few flaws in it of course. Hopefully Spielberg will come through with JP4.

Here's a bit of good information from a reliable source concerning the Cast of Jurassic Park 4. Looks like all the main actors will all be back one last time....

hmm, so it may turn out to be better then we expect? I'll have to keep close eye since the originals are returning for one last film.

Canyarion 02-27-2005 05:32 PM

Re: Jurassic Park 4

Hm pretty cool. But remember that this only the script. Perhaps they haven't asked even 1 actor if they are willing to join...

Re: Jurassic Park 4

guarantee Hammond will die this time round....by compies heh eh eh

and IGN says it could come out by the end of the year... yeah freaking right... try next summer if you're really lucky.

Jonbo298 02-27-2005 08:23 PM

Re: Jurassic Park 4

Yeah, I think they will make JP4 one of them "Summer Blockbusters"

GameMaster 02-27-2005 09:55 PM

Re: Jurassic Park 4

I hope the dinosaurs remain existant at the end of JP4. I don't want them completley destroyed. I want the small bit of mystery to remain. Like at the end of Alien vs. Predator.

Happydude 02-27-2005 10:13 PM

Re: Jurassic Park 4

wow...original cast...sweet! maybe this one will turn out to be quite good after all.
