Resident Evil 4 Help
okay, well i've gotten pretty far in the game over the past 2 days, from chapter 1-2 to chapter 2-3.
and I got to the part where you have to choose between 2 paths, I read the document in that little shack by the merchant, and it said there was going to be Ganados? and an El Gigante. and I want a tip on which route i should pick. and there will be more help needed later on... |
Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
Help on which route to pick? C'mon, just pick one... It's part of the fun...
Are you in the mood to fight a bunch of crazy people, or would you rather deal with some cave trolls? The choices are your's and your's alone... Good luck... |
Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
well being that it took me about 5 tries to fend off those people with that Luis guy, it wont be TOO much fun.
|
Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
Go left. I tried time and time again to fight that El Gigante but I couldn't figure out how.
Besides, you'll probably get more out of going left instead of money. |
Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
I went the El Gigante way first...with barely any ammo. Took me a couple trys to kill him. I ended up going back the other way after to pick stuff up. :)

Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
The one with the Ganados was fun. And the chainsaw sisters are hot.

Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
Left is easier

Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
Arent there like 5 or 6 chapters? Thats what I seem to remember anyways...I could be way off...
|
Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
from the sounds of it, it looks like i'll be taking the left way.
more help to come... |

And yeah, there's six chapters. The game takes about 14-16 hours. |
Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
I myself found the El Gigante easier to kill.

2-3 times and it's dead... Though maybe not, on account'a I thought that was the obvious simple way to kill the thing... |

Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
Yeah, just shoot the bastard then run up his back and knife him. Killed him in 3 times.

Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
i find that the Red9 is a pretty good weapon to use against villagers/bosses.
but in the beginning when you face that huge ass fish in the lake, that might have been one of the easiest boss battles in a game i've ever played. |

Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
Question: is there an option to turn the gore off? On the GCN? The more I read about this game, the more I want to play it, but it's just too violent for my taste.
A sissy version would do the trick for me. :p |
Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
WHat about closing your eyes when you shoot?

Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
there should be a way to take the gore off, or maybe there isn't considering Capcom warns people before you even begin play about the strong language and explicitly gory scenes

I guess it wasn't as obvious as I thought ;o I think maybe I discovered it the first time because I was right up next to him when he fell, and the A button command popped up in the screen :> Just make sure when you're up on the thing, you press the right button... sometimes it's A, sometimes it's B... I wasn't paying enough attention the first time and he threw me the **** off! |
Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
I had the same problem when you first begin to leave the farm village I think it is, you begin to walk down a wooden staircase and those damn villagers push a huge boulder and you have to run away, at first it was tap X, so I was taping X, then I died, then I began tapping X before I even had to, and realized it was square.
I hate that. |

Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
I remember I had heard things about the knife fight with Krauser and the difficulty of it. I only died once on it though. The first time you have to press buttons I noticed too soon :(
Second time it was a cinch |

Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
with the two routes, I ended up going the right route instead of the left because those 2 chainsaw ladies were beginning to piss me off.
and i bought that gun called the Punisher, was that a good or crappy buy? |
Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
You bought the Punisher? That's a gun you get for free if you shoot 10 blue medallions. Or was that little mini-quest only in the GameCube version?
Anyway, the Punisher is not a terrible gun compared to the original handgun, but it's also not much better at all. The only real advantage it has is the ability to shoot two people who are lined up, but in practice that's not worth much at all because enemies very rarely line up like that (and when they do, there's usually five of them in which case you should be using something other than a handgun anyway). Besides that, by this point your original handgun is probably upgraded enough to be quite deadly on its own. By the way, did you notice those boulders hanging pointlessly up on the edge of the canyon in the second El Gigante fight? |
Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
Nah, that sidequest is in the PS2 version.
And I noticed the boulders...I couldn't get enough time to shoot them down on him though |
Re: Resident Evil 4 Help

I also noticed the boulder but when I used it, it didn't instant-kill him. Wasn't good enough for me. I wanted more ammo so I went left. |

And there are two boulders on the right path. You drop one on him, jump up and swing your knife like mad, then run to the door and break it down and get to the next boulder where you repeat the process. Hopefully, you've been pressing the button fast enough to kill him at this point. What I did: went on the left path, killed the villagers and the chainsaw maniacs, went all the way through, got to the merchant and upgraded my weapons and then went back and flipped the switch so I could go through the right path. |
Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
aw.
well, I just got off of the Gondola, and I went into this house and theres that huge dude and he changes into a creature. any easy ways on beating him? |
Re: Resident Evil 4 Help
I can't believe you ask other people for this... it's part of the fun to figure things out yourself....
