Heath Ledger Dead

http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/Movi...ead/index.html

Not a joke. He was found dead in his apartment. Apparently there were pills strewn about. Damn, didn't see that one coming. He was a great actor. Looks like The Dark Knight will be his final film.

R.I.P.

I was just talking with a friend about his performance as the Joker. Weird.

He died way too young.

RIP

Yeah, that sucks. I hope they finished filming Batman, and I hope they filmed and ending where he dies. Drugs are a pretty bad way to go, or maybe a blissfully awesome way...

What a shame. So unexpected....

His performance in Brokeback Mountain was so moving.

He was going to blossom into one of the great actors of our time.

Why do the good always die young?

Am I the only one who doesn't really care?
Not to put it like a dick or anything.

Pretty crazy. Had a kid with Michelle Williams and everything. So goes the life.

Re: Heath Ledger Dead

In the realm of selfishly morbid good news, his filming for The Dark Knight was completed.

Wow, I feel like a jerk for being happy about that. I shouldn't, seeing as it would have been a double shame if his last full project was never completed due to his death. From the looks of it, he should get plenty of port-mortem praise for his role as The Joker.

Re: Heath Ledger Dead

Seriously, it's probably going to be one of the darkest films ever - the dark acting overtones of Christian Bale (The Machinist, American Psycho) the darker directing talent of Christopher Nolan (The Prestige), AND the "The Crow"-like feeling of watching the recently deceased Ledger.

"Haunting from the grave" just got a new context.

Re: Heath Ledger Dead

As a bright-side for Batman fans, it will be pretty much impossible for any critic to slam this movie without coming off as an insensitive jerk in regards to Ledger's death.

Not that we need death to protect this movie from bad ratings because it WILL be good.

Then why post? And yes, it is like that.

But, yeah, I really liked Heath. He just kept getting better and better. He could have been really great... Everything I've heard says he put his soul and everything into his performance as the Joker, so I hope it ends his life on a high note professionally.

This is the first time I can think of that an actor's death made me care, beyond the normal human compassion. I really enjoyed Ledger's past couple movies, Brokeback Mountain especially, and thought his Joker looked awesome. So I'm disappointed at the lost potential with his death.

R.I.P.

Or reincarnate as something nice.

And apparently pneumonia had something to do with his death...

Let's cut together a tribute video and call it "10 Things I'd Hate About You if you Weren't Dead"

No, they're thinking unintentional.

Wow, even I thought that was too soon. Give it a week, jeez.

Man, this is going to be like watching Almost Heroes.

And the latest reports are there werent actually pills "scattered about" and the rolled up 20 dollar bill had no traces of drugs on it. Maybe he just died...I mean, it can happen, pretty rare but its possible.

I still can't believe Heath is dead. It'll feel so weird seeing him up on the big screen knowing that he's not alive anymore.

And if they make a third Batman film, its going to suffer as a result of having to cast a new Joker.

That's the same kind of feeling I get when I listen to Elliott Smith CDs. His music can be pretty haunting as is. But then coupled with him being dead...

Were they planning to use the Joker in more than one movie?

Yup.
There may till be use for him in 3rd movie.

Re: Heath Ledger Dead

Do you think they'll re-edit the movie to let the Joker die? It can probably be done with CGI.

I didn't immediately register the black ribbon as being the 'change' to the website. I thought it was just part of the ransom letter.

*shrugs*

Re: Heath Ledger Dead

From what I've heard the Joker's role was supposed to be in the third movie, it could very well be done with "just some guy," or even cut out completely.

He wasn't supposed to be a major player.
