Lego Rock Band

I don't even know anymore.
Take a popular music franchise, and combine it with a popular toy franchise to make a mega video game franchise?

Quote:

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that Lego Rock Band is in development for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and DS.

Due for release later this year, TT Games is developing the title in partnership with Harmonix, with Warner set to act as publisher.

“Lego Rock Band combines two compelling properties and creates an experience that family members of all ages will enjoy playing together as a group,” said Tom Stone, managing director of TT Games. “Harmonix and MTV Games are the world experts in music gameplay, and we’re genuinely thrilled to bring the unique and humor-filled Lego experience to their Rock Band universe.”

Bob Picunko, senior vice president of Electronic Games for MTV Games, said: “Rock Band is a social game experience that crosses every generation and every genre of rock. Harmonix and MTV Games are big fans of the Lego game franchise and excited to work with TT Games to develop a new take on Rock Band that focuses on great music and Lego humour that’s fun for the whole family.”
Quote:

"Lego Rock Band combines the multiplayer music experience of Rock Band with the fun, customization and humour of the Lego videogame franchise packed with brilliant chart-topping songs and classic favourites suitable for younger audiences, including:

Blur: "Song 2"
Carl Douglas: "Kung Fu Fighting"
Europe: "The Final Countdown"
Good Charlotte: "Boys and Girls"
Pink: "So What"

"Players will become rockers as they embark on a journey to stardom that the whole family can enjoy as they work their way through local venues, stadiums and fantasy locations on Earth and beyond, that mimic the imaginative settings that the Lego world offers. Also continuing the LEGO "build-and-play" gaming experience, players will be able to create their own Lego Rock Band style as they customize their minifigure avatars, band and entourage, including roadies, managers and crew. Lego Rock Band supports Rock Band instruments, as well as other music game controllers."

I love Lego and Rock Band...so the logical thing is to buy this game. I'll probably get it for Wii, 360 and PS3. That means I have to go buy some new consoles but I figure it will be worth it. Since Lego and Rock Band are my two favorite passions. Ever. When is this gen going to let up on all the innovation. It's hurting my wallet.

Oh man, I can't wait until next year when they release Pepsi Presents: Super Mario Block Band.

I really don't see the need of this...

On the other hand, the only DDR game I have is the Mario Mix. The only golf game I own is Mario Golf... etc.

* Songs you know and love: Rock out to everything from current radio hits to past favorites the whole family will enjoy.
* LEGO-themed rock challenges: Play killer riffs to destroy a giant robot, summon a storm, and demolish a skyscraper using the power of rock!
* Enhanced customizer: Don’t stop with your avatar, customize your whole entourage! Design the band, roadies, and manager just the way you want.
* Build fame LEGO-style: Collect LEGO bricks after each song to build cooler vehicles and move to new venues.
* LEGO rock den: Buy furniture, decorate the walls and customize your band’s hang-out as you climb the ladder to rock success.
* Fun for everyone: Turn down the difficulty with an easier skill set option for budding musicians

Some new details on the game.

Freddy Mercury (no, what's Nirvana's singer called again?) shot himself with a shotgun? Ah yeah, Kurt Kobain it was. And apparently he did.

That made little sense.

Re: Lego Rock Band

I was wondering what the singer of Nirvana was called again. When I thought of a suicidal famous singer of a band, Freddy Mercury came to my mind. Then I googled a bit and got reminded that it was Kurt Kobain. And yes, he shot himself through the head with a shotgun.

More sense now?

It's the fact you needed to post about your entire thought process on the forum - in which you questioned, then answered yourself, then questioned, and posted a reply on well-known fact.

Everyone knows Cobain committed suicide. And most people also know Freddy Mercury died of AIDS.
