That does look slick. I always thought Nintendo went with white because of the whole Apple popularity thing, but it is probably a coincidence. I'm sure Nintendo has a market research team that looked at what colors sell best. White is clean and minimalistic, but black is just sleek and sexy.

Nintendo aren't thieves. Sony are, the Wii Controller came first. Just not in black. Another case of Sony ripping Nintendo off, they only make consoles because of Nintendo in the first place.

5. Five other things is a bit harsh isnt it?

And I did not say Nintendo aren't theives in general, I meant in the context of what Angrist said they are not theives. Of course one console company or developer will rip off anothers ideas, if they see a good thing they will get in on it. But that controller in Angrists post is a blatant rip off of the style of the Wii controller a case of product familiarity branding and a damned lazy attempt on Sony's part. Why not make something entirely of their own?

Everyone ripped off someone else at some point. Hell, the Shoulder triggers you see on the 360/Original Xbox were "ripped off" the Dreamcast. Sony ripped off motion control. Nintendo ripped off many things. It's a vicious cycle in a pool that gets around patents.

No. That picture is a 3 year old joke. So was what I said.

And you forgot the shoulder buttons.
Nintendo came up with a lot of stuff: D-pad, shoulder buttons, rumble, analog stick (on a console controller), motion control, touch screen (for a hand console), voice control (Hey You Pikachu, DS [not sure if it wasn't done before]). Maybe more.
Sony is a big 'me too' company, but it's how it works. And sometimes they come up with their own stuff. Doesn't matter.

I forgot about some of those things Angrist. Most of those are actually Shiguru Miyamoto's creations. Nice one. Did not realise the pic was a joke. I thought it was real :doh:

Thats ok mate, i'm buying 50, i'll send you one. Then i'll hire thugs to forever prevent you buying a UK Wii so you'll have to import every game you want, and my thugs will even steal your mail. You'll have a black Wii you wont be able to play.

To actually comment on the topic, it does look quite nice in the black, and i would buy one while i'm here in Japan, if the Wii was bloody region free. I think the reason they've held back releasing any other colours is because White is integral to the brand and logo.

I want that classic controller pro. The current one sorta hurts my hands after a while. Also I feel like the buttons are too click-y.

I really like the classic controller (original). It's my favourite of the controllers released so far.


I really hope in the coming years Nintendo sticks with one controller design. They drastically change it every year, and it shouldn't be like that.

I had one, but I ended up being alright without it (since I don't know where it is), because I don't usually play anything that I can't do without my Wavebird or my other 3rd party GCN controller. But I did enjoy having it. Never used the Pro though.
