Do you guys work out?

Just wondering how other people do it, and if you see any results and how long it takes/took.

Myself, right now until i buy a weight set, i jog about 2 miles a day and do 300-500 situps. I also do push ups. My ultimate goal is to run 5 miles a day.

I was wondering if there are any ways i can work my lower stomach.

So.....you're turnnnnnn

DeathsHand 08-31-2002 08:22 PM

I sit around all day

Well sometimes I take walks... does that count?

Mushlafa 08-31-2002 08:55 PM

Havent been to the gym all summer...

I can do about 60 push ups... and about 10 on one hand

whatever...

Edit: umm.... shiz... whats my password for Mushlaf_2 ?

I don't workout, I just sit around all day...mmhmm...I walk a bit but thats all. Being lazy is awesome. :p ;)

Joeiss 08-31-2002 09:09 PM

Yes, yes I do work out.

I have been working out everyday during August. I am focusing on my legs, because I play basketball. My schedule looks like this : Legs, Chest, Legs, Arms, Legs Back&Shoulders, Legs. That is like 1 work-out week for me. And then I take the extra day off.

With every workout, I do 20 minutes on the eliptical trainer, and I stretch like a mad-man. Stretching takes at least a half-hour for me. Stretching is the best! Make sure you do that, or else.

As for results, I have gained weight, lol. I gained about 15 pounds during the month of August alone. This seems bad, but only some of it is fat. Most is muscle, which people can tell. :) Also, I have noticed that I am going pee alot more. Because I drink at least three bottles of water during my workout, and about 3-4 more during the day.

Um, just make sure to run everyday, or jog or do those crazy eliptical trainers at the gym (what I do). It'll make you feel good. I think that I am at the best shape I have ever been in my life, and I keep on getting stronger every day.

I would tell you what workouts I do everyday, but I would be here for a long while typing it out.

I work my fingers out.

I think they r in excellent shape ahaha.

But I do work out 3-4 times a week. No running yet, just weights and stuff.

Shiz 08-31-2002 11:24 PM

ohhh i forgot, every other day i work my arms too.

whats the eliptical machine joe??

oh and btw, for every pound of muscle you gain, you burn 30-50 extra calories a day. and i gotta start drinking 8 8 oz glasses of water a day.

and i dont really 'run' i jog, i only run when i can and im starting to do it a bit more, hear its good for ur stamina.must.....get.......six......pack

btw ive gotta start doing at least 50 push ups a day. started at 30 today, tried doing more after working my arms but couldnt :)

Note: emil i think the pass is kliva or klavis or some **** lol.

Jonbo298 08-31-2002 11:47 PM

Well, havent really "worked out" over the summer because of the back surgery. But just some walking around the house once in awhile basically. I think my fingers have gotten the most excersize all summer. *Click click, push, push*;)

GameKinG 09-01-2002 01:15 AM

Yep. And with basketball soon, Ill be doing it 3 times a week.

I'm in Cross Country and Track and we average 40 miles a week (not running on Sundays). Every Monday Wednesday and Friday we weight lift. normal stuff, bench, biceps, triceps, shoulders, legs, etc. etc.. Everyday before bed, I do between 200 and 500 sit-ups and bewteen 20 and 50 push-ups. (Monday/Teusday - 200/20, Wednesday/Thursday - 300/30, Friday/Saturday - 400/40, Sunday 500/50)

Then during hte winter and summer, I average 35 miles a week (including Sunday). weight lift like above every teusday and thursday. And I do situps/pushups like above.

I guess you could say I'm in good shape.

Never knew your upperbody made you run faster ;)

Ravishing Rick Rude 09-01-2002 11:00 AM

you do realize doing LONG runs are worse for you right?

If you want alot of energy, do about 20 Stop and Start Sprints everyday,i do, about the size of a Football Pitch

take 15 or so seconds break inbetween, and within.....6 weeks, i can guarentee you, you will have evergy comin out the ying yang

JamesDark 09-01-2002 11:18 AM

I'm known to sweat to the oldies from time to time.

fingersman 09-01-2002 02:54 PM

Run up some stairs or something.
Btw when you do the sit ups do u come right back up??if you do.....you might want to try stopping mid way up and then going back down really low until you almost touch the ground then back up to the mid way point.

Also you might want to lay flat on a table with your legs off of it. your behind should be at the edge of the table and your legs should be dangling off the table. Oh yeah make sure your feet don't touch the ground. And then you can raise you legs up with your knees bent....until your hind legs make a ninety degree angle with your back....................and bring back down your legs slowly until they almost touch the ground and right before they touch the ground bring the legs back up to the ninety degree.

(you probadly do these already so I don't know why I bothered)

This is suppose to be down slowly it really cuts you up when you do it slow and controlled ;).

Well I hope I explained it right and you understand it.

How many push ups can you guys do at once?? 30? 50? 100??

Yugi Starwind 09-01-2002 03:03 PM

Karate. Does that count?

Shiz 09-01-2002 05:13 PM

yes yugi.

hey fingersman, welcome back.

oh, and i do do that second excersize u talked about ;)

marv, so what i should do is jog for 15 secs, sprint next 15, and so on?

yeah ive gotta start doing more push ups.

No, No JOGGING

SPRINTING, and it's Marc btw

basically you sprint a Football pitch, 100 m forward, and the 100 m back as fast as you can, and then take 15 seconds to rest, do this maybe, 5 times a day, and then do whatever you like the rest of the time

i suggest doing this as soon as you get up, eat and drink somethin, then do it

Shiz 09-01-2002 09:26 PM

yeah i know its marc but i messed up :(

sooo.....i sprint back and forth basically?

gekko 09-01-2002 09:37 PM

It all depends on what your goal is. Running short sprints will help build endurance, but it won't help you run 5 miles any better, or faster. If you want to run long distances in a shorter amount of time, you gotta do a mix between distance runs, and sprints.

Shiz 09-01-2002 10:40 PM

ty gekko thats what im gonna do....but actually it would help me run the 5 miles EASIER.

Perfect Stu 09-02-2002 12:39 AM

wanna burn fat? walk often, drink water often.

wanna gain energy? 50-100m sprint. 30 s break. 50-100m sprint. 30s break. 50-100m sprint. daily. and drink water often too, it always helps.

wanna be a sorry ass loser? do nothing. and lots of it. often. and drink water. why? because water is a threesome of the hydrogen twins and mr. oxygen. :stud:
