Brain Twist Thingie
"My grandson is about as many days as my son is weeks, and my grandson is as many months as I am in years. My grandson, my son and I together are 160 years. Can you tell me my age in years?"
|
I'm not even going to attempt to answer that, the question alone is confusing enough.

It's not that hard (especially if you know linear algebra). It's just that the numbers involved get a little big.
*prepares to walk away* What? You don't mean you want me to spoil the answer already, do you? |
Grandpa is 96 years old.
|
96? How?
"My grandson is about as many days as my son is weeks, and my grandson is as many months as I am in years. My grandson, my son and I together are 160 years. Can you tell me my age in years?" Grandson is then 96 months old, < 2 years. Grandson is as many days (96 * 30 = 2880) as the son's weeks (2880 / 52 = 55.3) Son (55) + Grandson (2) + Grandpa (96) = 153 I say 101. Grandson is 1, 3 weeks shy of being 2. Let's make him 2. 101 gives you 3030 days. 3030/52 puts the son at 58.2 years. 58 + 2 + 100 = 160. |

How come when Admins. edit their posts after others have posted, it doesn't indicate they've edited like it does for a normal person?
|
Cause we special.
Actually, it does, or should. You just get 2 minutes to edit your post, without the message popping up. I actually edited mine to a ..., when I realized my math was off, and got the right answer and had it up in < 1 minute. |
You're not allowed to round, are you?
|
Found my problem.

Anyhow, the answer for that one is 96 so congrats to all the folks who got it. "A farmer is taking her eggs to market in her cart, but she hits a pot-hole, which knocks over all the containers of eggs. Though she herself is unhurt, every egg is broken. So she goes to her insurance agent, who asks her how many eggs she had. She says she doesn't know, but she remembers some things from various ways she tried packing the eggs. She knows that when she puts the eggs in groups of 2,there was one egg left over/ When she put them in groups og three, there was also one egg left over. The same thing happened when she put them in groups of four, groups of fice or groups of six. but when she put them in groups of seven, she ended up with complete groups of seven with no egs left over. How many eggs were in the basket (I'm pretty sure there are mutliple answers but go for the easiest) |
gekko has the right answer, but Penguini doesn't want me to post it.
|
301.
gekko had 49 first ;) |
gekko had 49, till Penguin told him it was wrong. Deleted, then had 301, before your post. then Penguin told me not to post it, so I edited it.
Either way, I win :) |

Well yeah Gekko was right and I asked him to like not post the answer since I dind't wanted it responded to so quickly then GameMaster comes and does the same thing but eh...
A treasure is hidden in the middle of a maze. Each step is 1 m. The person starts at the entrance of the maze. She travels at 3 km's per hour. She starts facing North. She takes 4 steps foward then turns right. She then takes 2 steps and turns 45 degres North west. She then walks until she is exackly north of when she began. She then turns 90 degress to her right then walks in that exact direction until she is directly north of when she first turned 45 degress. She then turns and faces directly north. She walks twice as far as she has already walked and turns left. She then walks a 1/4 as far as she has walked at a angle of 45 degress. She then turns to north and walks twice as far as she has previously walked north. She then turns right and takes 9 steps. She picks up the ruby and walks the same distance she has previously walked in the maze, but instead she continues walking east. After she walks this far she sits down on a bench in the maze and is arrested. How long did the girl spend walking in the maze until she was arrested. She walked twice as fast after she got the ruby. Answer in seconds. |
This one is evil.
She takes 1 min 22 secs of time walking in the maze. And 3km per hours pretty damn slow :P. |

If my math is correct (I lost my train of thought half-way through), I am going to say 280.56 seconds, rounding only the final answer.
