Lord Germano 02-19-2003 01:39 AM

I posted this a while back, only it wasnt as fancy looking

The trick is very simple, but baffling when you dont know it. Like most riddles I guess...

Mushlafa 02-19-2003 07:21 AM

it doesnt work for me.... or im a dumbass... most likely the latter of the 2 tho.. i got a 14% in math.... so.. yeah.. but either way how could it guess correctly every time if the symbold are.. ugh.. forget it...

*walks away*

BlueFire 02-19-2003 03:09 PM

TheGame 02-19-2003 03:15 PM

Sombody please explain it.

-edit#2-

Ok, I see now, whatever sign is at 0 will always be right.

BreakABone 02-19-2003 03:18 PM

Well, it was cool until you learn how it does it, now it just like beat the system.

There is a little more than that.

It's impossible to beat the system, if you end up with something different than the crystalball, it means you miscalculated.

Jason1 02-19-2003 04:52 PM

Wasnt that thing posted awhile back here? whatever, its still pretty neat...although I think I know how it works.

DimHalo 02-20-2003 08:24 AM

That has been around for a long time. I learned it in a simpson's activity book i had when i was little. I know the secret ;)

Perfect Stu 02-20-2003 10:55 AM

it isn't hard at all...

***SOLUTION COMING UP...READ AT OWN RISK******

no matter what 2-digit number you pick, you'll always get:

81, 72, 63, 54, 45, 36, 27, 18, 9, or 0

look at the chart...all of those numbers have the same symbol next to them

/SOLUTION

*Gamemaster...I thought you were supposed to be smart? :p

DimHalo 02-20-2003 10:28 PM

in response to stu.... Otherwise known as numbers that are multiples of 9

GameMaster 02-20-2003 10:43 PM

Ok, I get it now. The part that got me was how it guessed the symbols because its not the same symbol when you try again. But they also assign those multiples a new symbol so yeah. Thats what I get for not being more alert to my surroundings. Thanks for helping me Smarty Pants Stu :p

CrOnO_LiNk 02-21-2003 12:59 AM

Alright... can someone explain this to me again? Wow, it seems kinda confusing...

LMAO! I got it, thanks Stu... I read it more carefully now...

0 is not a multiple of 9 ;)

0 can be divided by 9 therefore the theory holds

I think you're being a little vague...

Anything can be divided by 9...

DamnRaccoons 02-22-2003 01:34 PM

Not 9.

...

*Wipes dust off calculator*

*punches in 9/9*

*realizes there is a calculator right on the computer*

Wow, you learn something new everyday.

Ric 02-22-2003 06:36 PM

I have to admit that had me puzzled for a while. I did notice that there was a relation between multiples of 9 but it took me a while before I realised that the symbols changed each time. Clever little game that. Cant fool me for long though.
