Pet Peeves

What are some things that really get on your nerves? Take a load off and get some things off your chest. We're all ears.

My list of pet peeves:

1)"Professional" Wrestling: It's nothing more than a soap opera where sweaty men grope and hug eachother.

2)Welches Juice Girl: Don't know why, but she makes me furious.

3)People who call you unpatriotic for questioning the American government's motives.

4)How every cartoon has been Pokemonized.

5)Really stupid girls.

That's all I can conjure up right now. But when I remember what else I hate, I'll be sure to share it with you.

People who chew with their mouth open, and make really loud sounds while doing so.

People who drive the speed limit, and then on 4 lane roads they block you off so you can't pass anybody.

... ya, thats it for now.

-When people insult other people for not knowing jargon (ex: my brother was calling my sister a moron for not knowing that "O.W.L.S.", from Harry Potter, is not the same thing as "owls.")

-When people complain or get onto other people for faults they themselves have

-When teenagers think that their school is hell and that no other school in the world will have teachers or principals or rules

Oh! I hate girls who complain about not being able to find a nice guy but don't date nice guys becasue they aren't ass attractive as all the jerks they date. That I really just don't understand.

Oh...and I hate people who are really really pedantic. Which is funny because anyone who uses the word pedantic sounds quite pedantic themselves.

1) People who don't pull up into the intersection when making a left turn.

2) Nationalist attitudes, regardless of the nation.

3) People who are behind on the curve on music or movies. Not that they don't know the new ones, but people who will hear a cover song or see a remake of a movie and go "wow, did you see that, this is groundbreaking" no, moron, it WAS groundbreaking, 25 years ago.

4) Football announcers who don't know the difference between an End Around and a Reverse OR the difference between a Flea Flicker and an option pass.

5) Baseball fans who boo when one of their players is given an intentional walk.

6) Elitist English teachers/majors. Go read a research paper by an English grad student if you don't know what I'm talking about.

I've got several, but you asked for them, so here I go.

-people who expect me to like what they like

-people who think cartoons and video games are just for kids

-liars who constantly mislead others for their own amusement

-people who go "I was just playing!" when they're about to get knocked the hell out by someone they're harassing and pissing off

-double standards

-people who walk or drive in front of me slow

-teachers who encourage students to ask questions whenever they feel they need assistance, and then get pissy when the students ask questions

-when the media cuts down people who wish to stay virgins until they're married (just what do they care that people make that choice anyway?)

-people who think that the only things vegetarians eat are vegetables

-insects

-teachers who express contempt to two students who get in trouble for fighting and can't seem to realize that there could be a possibility that one of them was the initiator of the fight while the other was ACTING ON SELF DEFENSE

-religious radicals, especially those who give Christians like myself a bad name

-people with poor movie theater ettiquete (ie: talking loud, not shutting off their cell phones, letting their baby cry in the theater)

-people who disresepct others because they're different from them

-bullies

-insecure people who cut others down for their personal gain

-how cats are portrayed as evil in some shows while dogs are portrayed as the good guys

-when I go to a store that requires the associates to wear uniforms and I'm asked by other customers if I work there, and they can't seem to realize that my clothes don't look a damn thing like the store's uniform

-people who tailgate me when I'm already breaking the speed limit by several miles

-people who beep at me to start driving again the SECOND the light goes from red to green

-soccer moms

-people who think all rock music is Satanic

-people who like to take advantage of those of the opposite sex

-girls who say that they want a stable guy but can't handle it once they get a stable guy, and deliberately go for jerks and then end up complaining that all guys are pigs

-pedophiles

-child abusers

-extremists of minority groups who want to take over everything

-guys who treat girls like sex objects

-people who walk their dogs without a leash

Well, I dont consider you a "stupid person" if you do something stupid from time to time.

My pet peeve was "stupid people", I only classify you as a "stupid person" if you are constantly stupid.

So it's disciplined enough to not attack anybody? I'm not one to really trust stray or free dogs. Sorry.

Okay, here are some more pet peeves that I remembered:

-people taking up two parking spaces in a parking lot. (It's not hard at all to park in just ONE space)

-people who try to look at both sides of a problem you're having but fail miserably by ending up making it look as though you're the bad guy in the situation, and then make the party who was actually in the wrong to be a possible victim

-people who act as though they're better than everyone else and don't have one single solitary flaw

Dyne 01-16-2004 07:15 PM

Re: Pet Peeves

Oh, I just remembered another thing. I hate guys who play trumpet. High school guys. They have insanely overblown egos.

Scratch that. I hate anyone egotistical. I just really can't stand people like that.

Storm Eagle 01-16-2004 07:41 PM

Re: Pet Peeves

Whoa boy. I've got more.

-parents who subscribe to that "the teacher is always right" philosophy

-teachers who accuse you of having had done something wrong when you know damn well you didn't, and just don't listen when you try to explain to them

-angry people who try to make others subscribe to their angry views (i.e: those girls who try to convert straight girls into lesbians by telling them about the so-called evils of guys-I HATE THAT!)

-people who NEED sex and would ditch their significant other because they won't have sex with them

-girls who might swear that a guy has to be gay if he actually treats her right

-girls who say they like nice guys, but show their appreciation for what their nice boyfriend has done for them by pissing on him somehow, when she realizes he'd actually do nothing to intentionally hurt her in any way whatsoever

-the "out-of-control teenagers" themes on talk shows

I never knew I was this full of hate.

alright, I got a few:

1) Egotistical People
2) My dad and his "Im always right" philosophy
3) Stupid People, I mean REALLY stupid people
4) When a man hits a woman, its domestic abuse, and the man is charged, but when a woman hits a man, nothing happens, why?
5) Idiots in movie theatres, just shut the F**K up already, and turn your god damn cell phone off

Perhaps it's because domestic violence cases where the female is beating on the male isn't as common, and males are known to the the stronger sex.

I get what you mean though. I've heard of a few cases like that myself.

It's because a man doesn't have the testicular fortitude to call to the court's attention that he's whipped by his wife... literally. Or, it's because women get women lawyers... and women lawyers eat the testicular fortitude right off of the competition. Or, it's because women turn on the water works when the judge looks her way, and that's no the sign of a man-beater.

- vegetarians
- people who are really patriotic
- people who refuse to do work at school because apparently school is "dumb" and a "waste of time"

I think I better make it known that I'm a vegetarian. Don't worry I'm not a strict vegetarian though, since I don't shun seafood or dairy. Sometimes I don't think vegetarian is the right term for a person like me. Anyway I don't give a rat's ass about what anyone else eats.

Yeah another one of my pet peeves. Females who think men are such brutes but never want to admit that they can be just as bad as us.

I must really not like women or something.

Vampyr 01-17-2004 12:50 AM

Re: Pet Peeves

I would like to add a few more pet peeve's of mine:

- Women who go on and on and on about being just as good as a man is and being able to do anything just as good as a man can, but then when something actually needs done, she finds the nearest male to do it. It aggravates me. Im not shovinist, but I do not like anti-shovinist women who do not go along with what they preach.

- Stoners. I really hate stoners. I mean, seriously, I loathe them entirely. And what I REALLY hate is when someone comes to school everyday and all they do is "brag" about how they got wasted or drunk or high or laid the previous night. I dont know what they are thinking when they say these things, but I am not impressed with their stupid disgusting lifestyle.

--when the toilet paper rolls under instead of over
--people who judge other people just because they think that they are somehow better than those people just because they are of a certain belief
--feminists
--reality shows (actually they're more of an annoyance than a pet peeve)
--pans that are not stacked right, or dishes left on the stove or counter when there is plenty of space in the sink for it
--people who talk loud in class when the teacher is trying teach
--the word "hella"

I have another one.

-When you are talking to someone on MSN or AIM, and you are having a conversation, and then all of a sudden they just stop talking. They arent away or offline or anythng, but they just stop replying. Then, 2 hours later, one of two things happen.

a. You say bye, and then IMMEDIATLY, they reply "bye". So you know they have been there the whole time and just not talking to you. If they hate talking to you so much, why dont they block you or something????

b. They go offline and dont say bye or anything.

I hate people like this. I think that they think that just because they are talking on the internet that common courtesy does not apply.

While I'm at it, I might as well add more of my own now.

-when you're doing something to a friend that bugs them and you don't even mean to bug them in the least, they don't let you know right away. Then they wonder why you keep on repeating the offense. So after you repeat the offense enough times, they just end up blowing up at you after a while when you had no idea whatsoever that you've been bugging them all this time. Either that, or they tell you it's fine, but complain about you to others behind your back. They might even just ditch you and not give a reason!

-girls who hate it when guys act like jerks, yet they're always so bitchy themselves. They'll even be bitchy to the guys who don't even deserve it.

-people who look down upon or feel sorry for those who haven't had the "priviliges" that they've had, but don't even understand that those other people don't even care (I've had people pity me because I have no siblings)

-people who twist around what you say just to start a fight

-people who go around picking fights because they're bored

-people who try to convince you that you should see a problem in something yet you're totally fine with it

-possessive boyfriends

-school dress codes

-those hypothetical questions involving situations that are out of the ordinary, and ask you if you'd do whatever for a certain amount of money

Re: Pet Peeves

-Reality TV. They just keep finding new lows.

-Homophobes

-People who argue with you and call you stupid whenever you're gaining ground to shut the argument down.

-How the American government spends $400 billion a year on their military. Who do have to protect yourself from that you need 400 billion dollars a year to do it. The next highest budgeted military is Russia. And they spend $70 billion a year. Iraq, Afghanistan and Korea only have 7.5 billion in their military budget collectively. Take some of the money out of the military and solve the problems with the country. Like improving the school systems and helping for medical care.

Or how about how an argument starts because of a mistake you made, yet the other person still wants to keep the argument going even when you realize what you did wrong and aren't even afraid to own up to it? Then they start playing those Jedi mind tricks to psych you out and make you feel guiltier. I've had that happen to me before.

You all can tell I'm having fun with this thread, can't you?
