Ok, what is the most embrassing thing that ever happen to you on a date
Well I never had an embrassing moment on a date........I'm too cool to be embrassed
Or maybe I should ask what are some of the stupidest things you have ever said on a date? Maybe that will get more replies. :p |

I temporarily forgot the girl's name...I saved myself by pretending to be distracted by something else
*phew* |
Re: Ok, what is the most embrassing thing that ever happen to you on a date
haven't been on many dates, so i can't really comment
i say stupid things a lot so i'm sure i have had some good ones on a date (not sure though) |
Re: Ok, what is the most embrassing thing that ever happen to you on a date
Haven't been on enough dates to say...The ones that I did go on went pretty well as far as I'm concerned...

Re: Ok, what is the most embrassing thing that ever happen to you on a date
I was on a double date once.. and my girlfriend was starting to make some really outlandish comments about how she should be able to write her test longer than the given times. I, being a fool, went on her side. I defended it fairly well, but.. I realized what a dumb argument it was. And on a date, too.
Oh well. It's good for everyone to have embarassing dates, because then they know how to avoid them. |
Re: Ok, what is the most embrassing thing that ever happen to you on a date
Tripped in front of her.
|
Re: Ok, what is the most embrassing thing that ever happen to you on a date
I went on this double date with my brothers ex-girlfriends sister a while back....and....well....the most embarrasing thing i did was constantly spill things on her.....i had an excuse though, we were at a Hockey game, and the seats are small...and to be fair, i only spilled Popcorn, Smarties, Gummy Worms, Pop and cheese on her, then when the game was over, we were going down the stairs and i accidentally bumped her and she tripped...no serious injuries though, cuz i caught her...but still.......haha...looking back it makes me smile....
...Maybe i did that for inner-hatred for my brothers ex-girlfriend....maybe im just a nasty guy...only time may tell... |

it sounds mediocre but during the date, I tripped over a curb and when we were eating she was talking too much and I wasn't listening, I accidentally said, "enough with the small talk and lets get down to business"
on a first date that comment would sound very rash....lol |
Re: Ok, what is the most embrassing thing that ever happen to you on a date
I got her perfume a few weeks before the date and she wore it and asked me if I noticed what scent she was wearing. For some reason it didn't click.
:-/ I've not really been on many dates though. I had a steady girlfriend on and off for a number of years. But not much for dates. |

I have a lofty goal. Your purpose is some reason it did not click.Oh. What you said was either too complex or too simple for me. What happened to steady girlfriend on and off for a number of years?Huh. Me either. |

Also, When I see admins and moderators curse I dont see what would warrant me editing a normal users post. If someone above me would give be a list of "forbidden" words, I would be happy to edit post to suit the list. :P |

Technically, they won't result in being suspended, they just can. Which means I can post pornographic pics and still not be banned because is doesn't not say you will be banned. It just says they can result in a suspension. Even though it doesn't say so, to me it just seems to be understood that saying Dick and not talking about the one who's the brother of Tom and Harry, is not good. And also since you said that cursing wasn't on the list why is it that when I type in certain words, they don't appear? ex: ****($h!+) **** (****) |
Re: Ok, what is the most embrassing thing that ever happen to you on a date
I remember a while back i typed in "***".....in between the "U" and the "K" i forgot to put the star thing : "*"...so i got the negative repping of a lifetime...but why? "***" by itself isnt a word.
And why is typing "****" better? everyone knows what your talking about, they know what the word is, so whats the harm in putting in that little "c"? there are no kids here, although some of us act like some, this word is not offensive to most, and i dont know how it could be in the least. And i dont think we should resort to no swearing at all...thats too harsh, and it better not come down to using "secondary" words...such as " Richard" for ****...and "***" for ****...... ex: Awwww man that guy is such a ****** Richard... |

personally, I hate that f word so if there is a way to minimize me having to see it I am very pleased

Re: Ok, what is the most embrassing thing that ever happen to you on a date
The restriction is already in place. I think what typhoid's getting at is the frustration of arguing semantics. Why is it better to type fu*k as opposed to fuk. Or for that matter, why is it any better than typing the actual word? Everybody knows what you're talking about either way. The intention is usually the same.
So what do you want to do? Get after them for intention - or for action? A lot of people would type the actual words if they could get away with it. The emphasis behind a replacement word (if it sounds the same as the actual word: i.e. fuk) is generally the same as the word itself. I am not telling you how to react to those words or their replacements. What I'm saying is that you should probably look at them all the same way. Namely if they have the exact same sound as their predefined vulger counterpart. You sign up here, you accept that there's going to be some stuff you might not want to see or hear or read. The Federal Government has decided that if you're 13, you can register without your parents' consent. You can make the decision to subject yourself to whatever's on these boards. Generally, I try to hold myself to a fairly high level of conduct. It's common courtesy. I very rarely swear on the boards, and words like "dick" and "ass" I've decided are part of everyday life. You see them on TV all the time. Try to hold yourself to a high standard. Understand that others might not. Follow the rules of the respective forum. |

Yes, it is SUPPOSED to be understood. But it wasnt in the thread stating the rules, and I see moderators and admins curse all the time. When I see someone curse, I dont edit it because I'm lazy, I edit it because admins and other moderators curse enough to blur the lines between right and wrong until I dont know the difference. Let it be known that from now on the Vampyr is cracking down then. I agree with JS. The word is a vulgar word in the first place, and I dont like hearing it. I myself very rarely curse, SlyMoogle can verify that. I might say "damn" sometimes, but that's about it. And, as for the "fuk", "fu*ck" and the real word, there is no difference whatsoever. It has nothing to do with the spelling of the word, it's the meaning behind it that counts. |

Perhaps I'm just expressing my own concern about it. Please repeat the word to me 5 times.I haven't heard anything like that before: said curse SlyMoogle can verify that. Perhaps. Do you think your plan will succeed?I have never heard about The fuk fu*ck and the real word there is no difference whatsoever.Has it really? |

Re: Ok, what is the most embrassing thing that ever happen to you on a date
Semantics are sexing homosexual. I mean whoever doesnt swear is a total Richard.
I swear all the time....i dont say Fu*k alot...but its all the others that have taked over previous "nicer" words... And since he is not here i will vouch for Dylflon too, weve been saying these so called "curse words" for as long as ive known him... |

I don't see typhoid cussing all of the time on the boards. Or anybody else, for that matter. Most people keep it to a minimum out of respect for the people bothered by it. But I think we as readers also have to respect it if other people choose to swear. I admit, I swear more than I should in day to day life. I try not to, because I've come to the personal conclusion that I shouldn't. But I still do. It's a way to express myself when I'm really frustrated. It's an outlet. I don't like it when people use them as space fillers and put them between every other word. That bothers me. But if they help to emphasize a point, they can be powerful tools in human communication. |
Re: Ok, what is the most embrassing thing that ever happen to you on a date
lol...thanks for defending me...cuz ya thats pretty much the gist of it....I couldnt have said it better myself.
And to JS, when did i ever say or imply that i am better than anyone? (NHF) |
Re: Ok, what is the most embrassing thing that ever happen to you on a date
meh, i said i might be misunderstanding. i guess it was just sarcasm. no big deal, but i still think that if cussing is kept out of a conversation it makes it easier to accept (especially in an argument)
oh well... things have always been fine before and i don't know how it got to be such a big discussion how about if everyone gets back on topic ;-) |

I don't feel like editing the whole thread, so you'll just have to make a new one if you want.
I personally don't see the difference between the whole f word or like f*ck, so in my forum, you'll use nothing recognisable. :camfu: |
