What site can I use to upload my own pics so that I can link to them?
 

I have some pictures that I'd like to upload to a website so I can use code to show them in forums. I know in this forum you can attach pics through the forum itself, but most forums don't let you do that. :)

I know geocities allows you to upload but they also don't let you link to them. I used Netfirms.com for awhile but the CuteFTP program I used only stayed free for like a month, so I can't upload stuff anymore.

Any help? :confused:

You mean there isn't a free FTP program for you?

I use a combination of Netfirms with Fetch as my FTP program and iTools. Unfortunately, the latter is only available to Mac users (a shame, because it's so easy to use. Just click and drag to the folder on your desktop).

Anyway, I did in fact go searching for free web hosts, and there don't seem to be that many left. If you find one that advertises free space and so forth, make sure you also get free FTP access. I got gipped by a site that got me signed up and then told me that I needed to pay for FTP access.

I too, am an iTools user. It's great. Try www.attbi.com I'm a member so I get web storage there for free but it may be open to the public. AOL also? Good luck!

Okay, I tried them, did a quick sign-up, it goes through, but this is what they tell me:

Um, never mind. I'm not sure what that message they gave me meant, but I checked my email and they sent me a confirmation email with an activation link so it looks like I'm in. Now, to figure it out...

Well, um, it did let me upload my pic, but for some reason it pulled a Geocities on me and wouldn't let me link to it. So what I did is got another free-for-30-days FTP program that let me do what I want for now.

That's the only annoying thing about it. What you have to do is add the image whatever.jpg to the rest of the url.

Example: http://liquid2k.com/thehtownpoption/whatever.jpg

download WS_FTP from CNet or something, it works very well, and it's free.
