Idea

I've always been interested in the Final Fantasy games, mainly because of the story. But I've never had the guts/time to start one. Sure, I've played some bits, but they were just too slow for me.

Wouldn't it be very cool to have a movie that contains all the FMV movies, cutscenes and important dialoges/locations?

If somebody suddenly feels the need to capture those scenes and make 1 movie of it, I'd love that, and many with me. :D

If someone made a movie out of all the cutscenes and dialogues there would be no aesthetic continuity in the movie, because none of the FF's are true sequels albeit X-2 and Advent Children.

I meant 1 movie per game. :)

And I know it will be a lot of work, so I'm willing to pay $1 per movie. If we get more people willing to pay a bit, I'm sure somebody will want to do it. :D

Up until FFX, you'd have some pretty boring movies. Before they introduced real 3D cutscenes with FFX, it was basically just characters standing in front of a background, spewing out text. I mean, in the context of the game, it's good stuff, but if you aren't playing them, it wouldn't be nearly as interesting. That, plus you'd miss out on a lot of things that aren't handled through cutscenes, like battles. If you just watched cutscenes, you'd never see the characters fighting. Imagine if you will, the cutscene before the final boss fight, and then suddenly skipping forward to the ending movie. Would be pretty crappy.

I suggest playing them if you're really interested in the stories and whatnot. Maybe start with FFX, it's probably the easiest to get into. It's not incredibly long and the dialogue isn't as drawn out as the previous games (probably because it uses voice acting).

Well...Final Fantasy 7 through 10 would ahve pretty sweet cutscene movies.

But the cutscenes are hard to get and damn near impossible to find on file sharing programs.

Yeah, there's FMVs in 7, 8, and 9 as well, but they don't really flesh out the story. Their purpose is mainly to highlight various action sequences, and except for a few rare occassions, there was no dialogue at all in them. That's why FFX (and X-2 as well, if you want) would really be the only one that could go through this process properly. In fact, I'm almost positive that someone posted a video on the internet somewhere with all the cutscenes and FMVs from FFX edited together. Aside from some weird transitions, it was pretty much the whole story and worked out well. Try googling it.

Well, I wasn't in it for the nice visuals, just for the story, no matter if it was text or video. And some battles could be included... just not the repetitive random ones.
But I'll search for the X one. :) Thanks for the tip.

I'd just play through them.
