July's NPDs
Wii 425 k
Nintendo DS 405 k PlayStation 2 222k PlayStation Portable 214k Xbox 360 170k PlayStation 3 159k Game Boy Advance 87k Noted that PS3 sales doubled on a month to month basis after the price drop but was still outsold though marginally by the 360. The Wii has for the first time outsold the DS and well.. no other way to put it crushed the competition. Outselling the PS3 and 360 combined totals for the month. IGN's story Quote:
Super Mario Strikers Charged sold a little more than 100k in less than a week. Deserves it awesome game. http://wii.ign.com/articles/815/815230p1.html |
Re: July's NPDs
Well, I'm not surprised by the Wii's strong sales. Although I still think it remains to be seen if it will have any staying power. The Wii's attach rate is fairly lower than the 360's.
It's also interesting to note the 360 outsold the PS3 even with the PS3's "price cut that's not really a price cut." |
Re: July's NPDs
wow go Wii, shocked it beat the DS!

Re: July's NPDs
The Top 20 for the Month
Quote:
Top 10 breaks down 2 360 games 4 Ps2 2 Wii 1 DS 1 PS3 So PS2> Wii = 360> DS= PS3 The Top 20 however is 5 DS 5 Wii 4 360 4 PS2 2 PS3 So apparently Wii software can sell. Granted same issue as before where it's mostly first party. On the same hand nothing of note was really released in July for any of the consolees I think. Except my baby Mario Soccer! |

Re: July's NPDs
I assume that Wii Sports does not figure into attach rate?
