Microsoft to "Compensate" Xbox Live Gold Members for Downtime
"According to The Bitbag, Microsoft will be compensating their Xbox LIVE Gold customers for the problems the service has been having over the holiday—somehow. An unnamed Microsoft contact told the site:
...we will definitely be doing something for our Gold members that weren't able to get online over the last week." I sense free Microsoft points. |

I have a Gold trial account, am I gonna get stuff? What exactly does Gold get over Silver, anyway?

I'm really not supposed to be talking about this, but Gold members are looking at a free download of Viva Piñata.
Just act surprised when they reveal this on Friday. |

In fact, you're half the problem. Everyone is on trials, and the server load spikes over Xmas. Enjoy your trial, because my experience sucks. :( Happens every year though. |

Re: Microsoft to "Compensate" Xbox Live Gold Members for Downtime
You paid $400 for the console, the Gold service you're using for free. Me? I pay $50 a year to play online, on top of the what I paid for the console long ago. Can I play online? Of course not.
I blame MS. But it's because of people like you who are on trials. Server loads are too unpredictable at this times and causes crashes... every year. Normally doesn't bother me, but I have to go back to school and won't be playing much again for a long while, so I'm not happy about the situation. |
