DC's Blackest Night
And save all of the BaB jokes.. especially you two :p
Anyhow, Blackest Nights originally started off as the end of a Green Lantern trilogy spanning the better part of this decade with Rebirth in 2004, Sinestro Corps in 2007 and now Blackest Night this summer, but now is DC's big company wide event for the year. The Blackest Night tells the story of the War of Colors within the Green Lantern Universe. As most of you know Green Lantern harness the power of willpower. Well just as there color matches up to a specific emotion as does all the others. Quote:
![]() As this is a company wide event, there is a lot of comics crossing over with it. A LOT of comics, a bit too much IMO, but the current list. Quote:
And recently with Free Comics day, they released a prologue which beats you over the head with the identity of some of the Black Nights. And the prologue to the whole thing ![]() http://rapidshare.com/files/22821015...utemen-DTs.cbz http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1U7FI3MM |

Re: DC's Blackest Night
Well some of the synopsis are coming out.
Seems like the Blackest Night: Batman will focus on the Flying Graysons (Dick's parents) becoming Black Lanterns and Deadman. That shall be an interesting read. Superman will focus on Pa Kent and Superman from Earth 2 as a Black Lantern. DC in August. http://comics.ign.com/articles/983/983968p1.html |
Re: DC's Blackest Night
Damn, I wanted to avoid all the tie-ins...but I do love me some Deadman.

Re: DC's Blackest Night
So the Blackest Night has begun.
Well it began last month, but I wanted to make sure the ball got rolling well before I posted. And I have to say it has been an interesting story so far though mostly set-up. On the bright side, since this is a story about the living dead don't have to worry about too many gimmicky deaths since most of the characters are already dead, and Superman is off world, Batman is dead... and not quite sure what Wonder Woman is doing. So far my favorite issue has actually been a tie-in with The Bat-family, the chemistry between the new Batman and Robin is nice and different, and the story has Deadman. |
Re: DC's Blackest Night
i havent picked up a comic in a while, who ended up as the new batman?

Tim felt a little rejected, and never one to give up became Red Robin who is just a tad bit darker than your run of the mill Robin. |
Re: DC's Blackest Night

Re: DC's Blackest Night
Mega events like this annoy me. Its makes it difficult to enjoy just one character (or group of characters) without having all these references to something you know next to nothing about and that nagging feeling you're missing something.
And that happen so often now... |

DC tries it best to get people in with as little baggage like they have Blackest Night 0 which brings you up to speed and stuff, but things/characters do show up that people have to research. I still do with a lot of events. |
