Why I Love Bristol Palin

Reading this makes me feel a bit better about voting for Obama.

I wish everyone [media] would stop talking about the Palin family as a whole.

Yea no shit right? Nobody gives a crap about anything do to with that family. I hope Palin runs for President and wins the Primary, because then Obama would be a sure thing to win the election in 2012.

Can't disagree with your assessment of Palin's chances. Her likability ratings are way too low. I think Romney is out as well, because of his healthcare plan and how much people do not like what the government has done regarding that subject.

It will be an interesting race for the Rep ticket in 2012.

Huckabee is the only one who stands a chance.

My current prediction for the Republican ticket is Perry / Jindal.

I'm glad the drama is still 2 years away.

I was thinking Perry just today and I know Jindal will run. Thune has an outside chance. I'd love to see Paul Ryan somewhere on a ticket, just to watch him dissect someone in a debate, but I think he's still biding his time. That and the populist Republicans fear the bluntness of his unapologetic fiscal conservatism.

Huckabee attracts the bible belt, and he's incredibly likeable, but as we saw in the last primary the bible belt alone will not get you on the ticket. He just isn;t strong enough on the issues. If Obama is going to be defeated, it will be by someone with a mastery of the subject matter who can pull apart Pres. Obama's silver tongued delivery.

I hope people remember Jindal's idiotic response he gave a year or two ago.

That guy just aggravates me.

If only Schwarzenegger could run, there's a Republican I could vote for. :)

That response is probably the one thing holding him back, but his governance during the BP oil crisis ( and Katrina) will likely be his meal ticket for a run at office. If there is one thing Jindal has shown, it is the ability to govern, and that's what I'm mainly concerned with. In any case, Jindal will likely only get a VP nod at most.

I also forgot about Chris Christie. He has an outside chance, if only because he is still first term and will likely not run at all (although he has started a diet, and to me that says presidential run all over it). If he were second term I think he would be an automatic candidate.

For the love of the gods, I hope Perry doesn't run. History shows, he has a knack for being at the right place at the right time and winning. History also shows he has a knack for being a shitty governor.

That said, I don't think anyone is ready to vote another faux cowboy in to the Oval Office.

For my time in Louisiana, I didn't grow any general distaste for Jindal, but I don't remember his response speech Vampyr mentioned except that he fucked it up. Any way, my feeling is that he's probably a good bet at a front runner since he's likeable.

Oh yeah I forgot about Perry, he's the only other one with a chance.

Why do you think Perry and Huckabee have the best chance? To my knowledge, their style of politics resemble the "compassionate conservative" policies of George W. Bush. I'm thinking people are pretty much fed up with that.
