So who's getting the Wii U?
I'll probably get it, but I don't see any game I really want. Nintendo Land and Mario will be fun, but not something you buy a new console for...
I will probably buy it just because I know I'll get it within the first year. I don't expect the price to drop (much), so I might as well get it right away and enjoy it. Oh, I hope it will launch with some good eShop titles (that sequel to World of Goo perhaps?). How about you? What games are you getting with it? |
Re: So who's getting the Wii U?
I just told my friend he can have my pre-order. My TV burned all of the HDMIs (for the second time) and the car needs a new transmission. I'll get a new TV since I bet this one will just get the HDMIs burned a third time and I'ld rather get a new one with 3D. I'm thinking I'll buy mine around May when I no longer have anything to pay.

Re: So who's getting the Wii U?
As soon as Nintendo decides to release a game I want, I will buy. Until then, very doubtful I will purchase.
I am thinking of jumping on the 3DS bandwagon soon though. |
Re: So who's getting the Wii U?
I'm still 3DS-less. I'll probably get it one day and enjoy the Mario games. Oh and the next Zelda of course.
I'm looking forward to a lot of the other stuff Wii U can do, like TVii, Youtube and play VC games. |
Re: So who's getting the Wii U?
Pre-ordered Wii U. Impressed by what I've played at events, and Nintendo TVii seals the deal.
Getting Madden, Assassin's Creed, Ninja Gaiden 3, Black Ops 2, and Zombi U on the 18th. |
Re: So who's getting the Wii U?
I hope it has Youtube out of the box. I think I heard we'll have to wait a while for TVii, grrrrr.
I have Youtube on my Smart TV and on my media streamer, but they both suck. It doesn't have the functions that the browser-based Youtube has, I can't find some videos and the UI is a mess. So I hope Wii U will solve that for me. |
Re: So who's getting the Wii U?
I'll get it sometime, but not at launch. I'm basically waiting for Zelda.

Nintendo finally detailed their online network/MiiVerse/WaraWara Plaza

Re: So who's getting the Wii U?
Today I finally made a reservation for a Wii U! The store is getting 500 units and I'm the first to make a reservation.
A month ago or so I already made a reservation at Bartsmit.com, but it was more of a "we'll notify you when we get them" thing. Also the price on that site wasn't too good. For weeks I kept walking into the BCC to ask if they were going to sell Wii U... Now this morning they finally had confirmation. They're getting 500 units and I am the first with a reservation. The nice thing about this store is that they have a lowest price guarantee and that the store is pretty close to my home. |
Re: So who's getting the Wii U?
Hope you get a good launch system Angrist! Kinda jealous actually.
The one thing that bugs me: IGN has said that there's so far no way to turn off the gamepad's screen if you don't want to be using it. I think that would be a great option since battery life is supposed to kind of blow. |
Re: So who's getting the Wii U?
I'm depressed. I wish I had pre-ordered one.
|
Re: So who's getting the Wii U?
Why the second thoughts?
And so far Nintendo acts like they're really constantly working on improving the OS. I bet the option to turn off the screen will come eventually. It could even be an in-game option. |

Re: So who's getting the Wii U?
Forgive my lack of motivation to research; this WiiU console, what will be the launch price in Canada/US?
|
Re: So who's getting the Wii U?
In US it's $300 for the regular one and $350 for the deluxe, which includes some extra things like a bigger hard drive, a charging dock for the tablet, and some kind of membership to an online program which will get you free stuff.
I can't remember if Nintendo Land comes with both versions or not. |
